The Mercedes F1 teams social media started saying Russell this Russell that and Russell won the first trophy for team when Lewis had. They were quickly put right by Lewis fans. It all escalated and unfollowed all Lewis’s account and started following all Russells. Is this how a team like Mercedes behaves to an employee and the guy who bought them a lot of silver. Very petty to be honest.
Firstly, no they weren’t making a overdramatic deal about George. But more importantly they weren’t “put right” by Lewis’s fans. Mercedes was right when they said George got them the fist real trophy as George got the team the first real podium of the season. Lewis’s P2 in the sprint in China. Is NOT a real podium. Not a real trophy. I believe they got a medal or a plaque. That’s not a real trophy. The only ones being petty are that vocal minority of Lewis’s larger fanbase that whine, cry, moan and complain every little time Merc pay any attention to George. It’s pathetic.

People keep saying they need to get more young people into F1, but that means someone else needs to lose their seat! Can't have 10 new drivers a year....Only 20 seats and getting a chance is HARD. It's just the nature of it
@@clairdillon1762 Hi. - You’re incorrect about Hamilton. He is front and centre regarding the conspiracy. He has given cryptic answers to his underperformance in multiple interviews. He’s likes to play the victim but he simply isn’t.
Or Lewis was the only driver that perfectly joined a team giving him rocket ships for that long….. Seb got his championships with Red Bull then they fell off. Max has been the same with Red Bull Now Red Bull is falling off. Mercedes delivered rocket ships for years and years
Teams or sponsors have always had favorites but team managers tend to be professional enough to not let it be an issue. One everyone seems to forget (including these 2), and probably the biggest of them all is Ron Dennis openly favoring Lewis over FA, which cost mclaren a title. Mansell was well known to complain a lot, Prost also claimed the same - while he was partnered with the fastest of them all (how can you ever quantify Senna getting better kit when he was way faster anyway?). Now Lewis is making the claim being he's moving to the big seat. Lewis has been beaten by slower drivers than Russel - Button and Rosberg, with those he just blamed the team in general or his personal life.
@@r200ti Honda were supportive of both Piquet and Senna, thats why their teammates were branded as complainers. F1 always has been about who is willing to back you.
Cameron, in a future podcast with Peter, could you ask him to tell some stories about George Harrison? I heard Peter say on one of his lives last year that he was friends with the Beatle and knew him well. George Harrison loved Formula One.
F1 has enough money that Liberty Media could run / fund 2 extra older spec cars each race with which to showcase drivers waiting in the wings and have local advertising / sponsorship specific to that race / region / city. There could be a pool of 10 drivers that could be rotated through 20 races each season. What a platform that would be to showcase talent and forge a career in F1 or another world class category.
Good idea but it wouldn't work because nobody would really watch it, all the extra engineers and team members that would have to be hired and f1 is obsessed about sustainability so they won't want to have to fund a series that would bring hundreds of tyres to a race and all the freight costs too.
F1 has gotten so expensive to maintain that if new drivers aren't bringing in top dollars with sponsors it's very hard for you to enter the sport. This is why we still have guys like checo and ricciardo in the grid because they're easy to sell.
Lewis said that his tires were not pre-heated to the correct temperature by the garage technicians for qualifying...? That they were 2C - 3C lower than it should be.
Prime example of a little bit of truth, a lot of narrative. He just said the temps were 2-3 degrees lower. He did not blame or mention garage technicians not heating them correctly. The drop can be caused by a number of things.
@@tadeyemi8802 not quite true. The technicians in the garage are responsible for heating the tyres to the operating temperatures. If they aren’t at the right temperature when Lewis drives out of the garage then they failed to do their jobs.
Sorry Peter, but that's nonsense. Sure there were cases 35 or 40 years ago where this is said to have happened, but that was a completely different F1, where not a single team except Williams had a wind tunnel... and hardly any data... Today, where everything, but everything is recorded, this is not possible without clear evidence, but more importantly - what would Mercedes gain from it? And why would they do it! Because they are offended, can Hamilton do it? Because they want to please their new number 1 driver? Ridiculous! F1 teams are highly professional and drivers coming and going is normal. Mercedes would be hurting themselves because they would lose millions in money because of a worse result in the WCC. And they would do lasting damage to their reputation. And all for what? Because they are offended by Hamilton? Because they want to please their new No. 1 driver? Yeah, no, that's clear... The simple fact is that the ability to judge distances at high speeds diminishes with increasing age in every human being and therefore also in every F1 driver. That's why fighter jet pilots have to "retire" at the age of 45 or are no longer allowed to fly fighter jets. Hamilton is almost 40 and this ability has already diminished in him too, which simply has an effect on performance in F1 and costs a few tenths because you no longer hit the corner entry or exit or the braking point 100% or are not good enough "on the pedal". So it is simply the case that it has become slower. And not that Mercedes is sabotaging it. That would make no sense at all. An F1 team doesn't throw millions out of the window and risk its reputation because of such nonsense. I know you're a Hamilton fanboy Peter, but someone like you should be a bit more professional, because you know perfectly well that it doesn't make any sense. Just like F1 drivers slow down with age. Even an Alonso is slower today than he was at 25, just like a Schumacher was slower at 41 than he was at 25, or a Prost or Mansell. And a Hamilton is the same. What's more, it's not as if anything unusual is happening... Russell already beat him in his first year as a complete newcomer to the team. Which raises the question of whether Hamilton was ever as good as some people think, because being beaten by a rookie in his "own" team... but either way, Hamilton just slows down, like any driver.
110%! Also, Development for 2026 Car Starts January 1st 2025…Teams want at Least 1 Driver who can Help Develop the 2026 Car in the Sim etc…For Example, VCARB are EXTREMELY HAPPY with Daniel’s Car Development Direction, which Yuki is also benefiting from…Yuki from ALL Reports has NO idea about anything about Car Development at all!
It's ridiculous to think mercedes are sabotaging Lewis! Absolutely crazy. He was right there...its just super tight! So much so a gush of wind or distant tow may make the difference!
Red Bull bringing Perez home should be extra punished??? What about LH finishing in 3 wheels the race, nobody protestend then? Butter on. your head Peter?
Great discussion. I wonder whether the ban on testing impedes new drivers breaking into F1 - because a mediocre driver with 200 hours behind the wheel might be enough better than a great driver with 90 minutes in an F1 car to justify keeping them on
Max deserved the 2021 title. If his tyres and others had not blown up in Baku when he was leading Checo and Hamilton by a country mile he would have won 2021 even if he was 2nd or 3rd in the last race of the year. Of course Hamilton helped by messing up the restart so badly he didn't get any points in that race. He got lucky in the last race of 2008 when Glock's Toyota conked it on the last stretch enabling Hamilton to become 5th and win the title. Don't forget that was the year when Massa lost the race in Singapore thanks to the confusion caused by Flavio Briatori's crashgate. Massa was robbed of the championship
Until ppl vociferously call for the likes of Stroll, Sargeant, Zhou, and KMag out, I’m tired of hearing about lack of opportunity for young drivers. Then you have the same ppl pushing Bearman, who by no means deserves a seat on a performance basis. Ridiculous.
Loved Peters analysis of Russell racing intent; '...I'm going flat out and I'm going to beat Lewis...' Really sums up George's racing style. Love listening, as always. Thanks.
At this point Hamilton and Wolf are like a divorced couple fighting over alimony. It’s Toto’s house but Lewis still resides there. Next year Ham will move on to an older richer sponsor and Wolf will bring in a newer younger version of Hamilton. All in all… wealthy people problems.
I'm an old blacman in us, as technology evolves so do costs, while working in the racing industries in the states back in the eighties to 2008, the world economics were different. As I would interact with teams and owners, we talked openly about the industries. Cart and Indy were having their issues with style and it's outcome was the lesser of the two. I also thought that tv helped to dictate time, the cars got faster, but more dangerous. I thought the handling was more important, but it makes the drivers less of a factor. I also think greed in all sports created a false identity of the sport. I've seen the waste and most of it never "trickled down" to the lower levels.... anyway, Sir Lewis should be working on #9....a hell of a driver, and world champion.....pax
How can you put general Ricardo in the same breath is Logan sergeant. There's definitely guys that shouldn't be in formula 1 and it starts with Lance stroll Danny Ricardo should have a shot he is better than people are giving him credit for he's going to get it together. You really just needs the right car
The lack of opportunity for F2 success stories getting into F1 is woeful. Let's face it there are at least 4 drivers who are just plain not or no longer worthy of a drive in F1. One has a top drive. Taken at the other extreme and we have a kid who is getting a top drive next year who hasn't done his apprenticeship. Both extremes are wrong, as wrong as Sainz being out of a drive.
Why does everyone miss the obvious? Red Bull made the argument that bringing Perez back to the pits was to avoid a safety concern that would require a safety car. That is them countering the claim by the FIA that Perez rejoining the track was a safety concern. It had absolutely nothing to do with Verstappen. Do people honestly believe that Red Bull told the stewards they did it because they wanted to influence the race? That's absurd. Even if that was true they would never say it. Furthermore, Perez rejoining the track just in front of Verstappen was a bigger risk to Verstappen's race than the safety car. So again, it had nothing to do with Verstappen. And No Peter, Red Bull didn't tell Perez that they were preventing a safety car. Are you just reading twitter nonsense? Do some research,. Also, plenty of times we have seen damaged cars being brought back to the pits. Are we suddenly pretending that this is unique?
No Cameron, you are wrong too and you definitely just read Twitter and copied nonsense without thinking this through yourself. This had nothing to do with Verstappen. You are smarter than this.
Could the risk of damage and $ because of the cost cap making the teams chill of getting a driver without, according to them, real f1 racing experience.
Michael Schumacher maintained that high level of driving for longer, but he decided to go to Ferrari a team who were no where It took him 4 years to get Ferrari to win a world championship .In doing that he totally change the way people approached F1 with a much higher level of professionalism and fitness. Lewis always joined a team on the verge of becoming world champions and stayed there until they were in decline. He never built up a team from nowhere to becoming winners. Also Michael Schumacher never had a team mate beat him to a world championship.
Speaking of speculative, know nothing did you even listen to the Hamilton discourse? The portion where I intimated that Lewis might have lost A tenth at 38y/o and PW respectfully disagreed? Didn't think so. Now what were you saying about pro Hamilton agenda again? 💀
Here's your solution Peter: Each team kicks in cash according to CC standings. Ex. $10,000,000 total. The winner of F2 gets a $1,000,000 1 year contract. Any team can take that driver and the $10,000,000.
Lewis even at 40 is a breath of fresh air compared to all the other dull drivers, it's no surprise it took the FIA and a FIA backed pyscho driver to topple him under the most dubious of circumstances known. He's still very near the top even in that banger of a merc...
Guys... here we go again:-) They are the die hard Lewis Hamilton fans who just can't accept that their hero's golden days are behind him. Every time their hero is defeated in a fair manner ( 2021), the fans are busy looking for conspiracies and excuses for that loss! Let them take an example from Maximiliam who can simply put it into perspective soberly by simply saying "this time the safety car was in my favor so you can say that it is now even again" it is so easy to just tell the truth! Or as Maximiliam the other day said 'yeah yeah.. if this or that, who cares "Lando just won this race and done"
Lewis is an old driver now entering his 40s soon. His fans like to forget in the same car Rosberg Alonso Button and George beat Lewis fair and square. Senna Clark Schumacher Fangio always beat every single team mate in the same car. Lewis was not as good as them, or able to beat his team mates. Since we have seen Russell beating Lewis for the last 3 years it is very possible that if Toto had given Russell the drive in 2017 after Rosberg retired, he would have won 4 titles 2017 to 20 instead of Lewis. Lewis is clearly slower than Russell and has lost his courage in wheel to wheel combat against Max and young drivers. If Russell was hired in 2017 Lewis would have been a forgotten has been retired ex driver by now. I think Toto made a mistake hiring a number 2 driver Botas for 2017, when he should have hired Russell.
The sprint race division could be the third youth, driver, with its own singles championships, but counts to constructors. A shorter sprint at every race with a youth driver, with their own championship table.
Ridiculous pandering. Lewis has been comprehensively out-driven by George Russell and yet these 2 sycophants are burying their heads in the sand. Lewis is operating at about 70% of his old speed. He will fail at Ferrari and be out-driven by Leclerc as well.
Zhou is family money. Otherwise every driver is a pay driver as they bring in sponsor tying their good name to a given driver. In that sense a Perez brings in 90m, but that is based on performance that his sponsors believe in.
Wasn't there a leak from some engineer in Mercedes about the Sabotage being real, the email even claims that it is dangerous or life-threatening to put someone on cold or tires like that
It really annoys me when intelligent people say stupid things! On a rain affected weekend, are you trying to convince me, another used medium or soft tire could not perform better for 10 laps in cool conditions and low fuel? These commentators are disingenuous at times. Also, Lewis would be able to see the tire temps on his dash. He would see straight away. Just disappointing and funny how quick the media are quick to dispel Lewis's concerns.

@@AP-nb9kv i hope you know they've done over 20 laps on softs on these new gen tires
@@chiefdenis yes they would have done but the performance advantage would only be for first few laps after which the performance drops like stone. You have to manage a lot. In hindsight u can say that soft would have survived but during race it would have been huge risk compared to rewards u would get.
@@gameofender4463good luck 🍀 in life man. Trophy is trophy. A medal is also a “trophy” silly!
Medal: : a piece of metal often resembling a coin and having a stamped design that is issued to commemorate a person or event or awarded for excellence or achievement
Trophy: something gained or given in victory or conquest especially when preserved or mounted as a memorial
They’re are literally the same thing! So Lewis got the FIRST TROPHY!
Make a bigger deal out of this only because you’re a hater. 🎉
@@wilton999 😂. The audacity to call me a hater when you’re also just wrong. Lewis’s medal for P2 and George’s TROPHY aren’t the same.
Look at what they got. George’s is the only one that looks like a REAL trophy.
@gameofender4463
Like your love fir George. 🤣
None of the presenters even list Oscar's sprint win as a real win. Sprint is a joke to make money, its not a real F1 race and not a real trophy. Oscar's win was fantastic but its only a sprint, Lewis's had a medal for race thats not a real F1 race format.
Dont be daft to think the argument is about its physical appearance and the space it occupies in one of the other replies. Cmon, be better.

the answer to the question CameronF1 set up as his clickbait intro is at 31:48
Further to the point, literally at 33:48 "nahhh, I don't think you can say it was sabotage. that's rather childish/rubbish, isn't it, people saying that..."
this interview is too good for you to resort to this sort of clickbait/lying bullshit.
Great interview, Cameron. Mr. Windsor is a sage and has some very good experience to bring to the table when it comes to expressing his opinions and the perspective he brings to the subjects you brought up is very interesting to listen to. Thanks, Cam. 👍🏻
Cameron, I signed off from your shores in the wake of Abu Dhabi, but you've transformed. This partnering with Peter Windsor is beautiful. Keep going in your own way.
All the best!
Red Bull also didn't want more images of Prezes' floor to spread through the paddock!
People keep saying they need to get more young people into F1, but that means someone else needs to lose their seat! Can't have 10 new drivers a year....Only 20 seats and getting a chance is HARD. It's just the nature of it
Come on Peter. This conspiracy theory is simply ridiculous. It really is scraping the barrel of excuses.
@@clairdillon1762 Hi. - You’re incorrect about Hamilton. He is front and centre regarding the conspiracy. He has given cryptic answers to his underperformance in multiple interviews. He’s likes to play the victim but he simply isn’t.
Love seeing someone with as much history and knowledge of the sport as Pete calling out F1.
Extraordinary F1 analysis, thank you!
Wow very enlightening conversation. I had no clue about the fundraising aspect of being a f1 driver
Today's a great day. After a long day I get to watch this and the pod 1 after the other
I love Peter. I think he's nieve when it comes to Lewis's situation
Or Lewis was the only driver that perfectly joined a team giving him rocket ships for that long…..
Seb got his championships with Red Bull then they fell off.
Max has been the same with Red Bull
Now Red Bull is falling off.
Mercedes delivered rocket ships for years and years
My son showed promise as a 7 year old in Karting. I looked in to the path to a career and decided it was better to start an education fund for him.
95% it was the right thing
Theres a history of Honda sabotaging for their favoured driver. Peter said that Piquet was favoured over Mansell.
Couldn’t have put it better Mr Windsor
Anyone who thinks AMG is sabotaging Lewis needs their head checked

My pleasure as ever!
Isn't the problem.....there's more drivers than seats?
I really enjoy the conversations with mister Windsor. I spent hours with hearing what it says. That man is wekipedia of the F1
Peter believes that if every element conspires to aid Ricciardo, he's a good driver!
Otherwise? 7:46
Lewis said that his tires were not pre-heated to the correct temperature by the garage technicians for qualifying...? That they were 2C - 3C lower than it should be.
we don't know if it's true or not, but if it is, it's BAD.
@@davepastern he can see his temps on the dash, i believe him if he says his temps were lower than they should have been, 💯
@@chiefdenis well if that is the case, Mercedes has some explaining to do, especially if this has been a constant in 2024.
Love the drama with the intro music. man I was on my seat with those strings....
😃
I think mercedes deliberately turned down Lewis engine in order to get Russel up there but i cant proof it😞
I waiting for that screenshot to mysteriously appear in the f1 publications lol
Proof will come out after Lewis leaves mercedes
Does the cost cap make teams more reluctant to hire rookie drivers just in case crash damage financially hurts thsir season?
On another note I do enjoy you and Mr. Windsor pod. You guys keep it up.
Thank you , Windsor
I love the intros to these, very suspenseful. Well done!
Thank you!
Staying together for the kids' sake
“Amen!!! Preach Mr. Windsor. Lewis will indeed have his day again.
Fingers crossed, Not.
Very humble and honest assessment of F1

You really just needs the right car
I'm sorry, even a 5 lap old medium would have been better
Will Buxton was being an idiot and he deleted his tweet probably after realizing he was being an idiot.
Whatever it is, it's never Lewis' fault.
What’s the intro music?
Michael Schumacher maintained that high level of driving for longer, but he decided to go to Ferrari a team who were no where It took him 4 years to get Ferrari to win a world championship .In doing that he totally change the way people approached F1 with a much higher level of professionalism and fitness. Lewis always joined a team on the verge of becoming world champions and stayed there until they were in decline. He never built up a team from nowhere to becoming winners. Also Michael Schumacher never had a team mate beat him to a world championship.
Nice of Peter to mention Francoise Hardy -she was great in 'Grand Prix'
Perez going back to the pits is unsafe and unacceptable? How about Lewis winning with three wheels? There is no issue at all.
Windsor shows up Cameron for what he is, a speculative, know nothing, who amplifies the pro Hamilton agenda of his biased community.
Speaking of speculative, know nothing did you even listen to the Hamilton discourse? The portion where I intimated that Lewis might have lost A tenth at 38y/o and PW respectfully disagreed? Didn't think so. Now what were you saying about pro Hamilton agenda again? 💀
Here's your solution Peter:
Each team kicks in cash according to CC standings.
Love the very tribal suspense music in the intro … nailed it
Guys... here we go again:-) They are the die hard Lewis Hamilton fans who just can't accept that their hero's golden days are behind him.
Get your bib ready...humble pie incoming😆
Great podcast!
Thank you Lokki. Glad you enjoyed! 🙏🏾
And F1 turns away a billion dollar long-term success like Andretti. 17:45
Peter is right…Sabotage is an excuse for getting Smoked 🤣🍻👍
Zhou is family money. Otherwise every driver is a pay driver as they bring in sponsor tying their good name to a given driver. In that sense a Perez brings in 90m, but that is based on performance that his sponsors believe in.
I didn't realise this Jay. 😂😭

New young potentially F1 drivers arrive yearly, experienced drivers cannot depart yearly because of team value, F1 cannot be a revolving door. Do the math, when supply exceeds demand in any situation some will miss out.
