Do not use the client from Blizzards Launcher! Make sure you don't put the Arctium Launcher into your official Blizzard installation! Do not use your Blizzard log-in data to log into a Private Server! You need to launch WoW with the Arctium WoW Launcher Shortcut! Please make sure that you have the right Realmlist in the Hermes Proxy set-up! Make sure you put the localhost address as Realmlist in your 1.14.0.40618 client! (WTF folder - config file) Make sure you launch Hermes Proxy before Arctium Wow Launcher Shortcut! If you can't log-in make sure that you actually have an account. That it's verified and that you don't use 2FA! (If you do, you need to log-in via your 1.12.1 client first!) You can't resurrect after death: /run RetrieveCorpse() If you have visual bugs (with missing spells) try clearing these folders: WDB and ADB (they are in _classic_era_ - Cache) I hope that will help you! It is important to watch the whole thing and follow the steps i did! Have a good one!
Nice video! I've been using the hermesproxy for about a week now and it's fantastic so far. The 1.12 client is playable but it certainly feels crusty, the addons aren't as good and there's some weird camera/mouse move acceleration that happens like every 45-60 secs. Playing with 1.14 the game feels buttery smooth, definitely encourage anyone who is interested to at least give it a shot.
It's amazing that we can play with the modern client. I switch back and forth, i really like the old graphics :D Glad that people are just able to play, some have so much trouble with the old client
This was an absolute game changer for me when I found it. The 1.12 client is soooo bad man. Its impossible to go back to at times. There are some charming addons and stuff, but its so immersion breaking to tab out of the game and have the music stop haha I have noticed something that does not work well with this though. Swimming in general just seems to be not synced up at all. When you are underwater you will often see mobs basically just porting all around. Same thing with players. I worry that would be a concern for the cheat thing. On top of that, many people are used to the old clients (prior to cataclysm) just syncing everything from the server and these servers are made in that way. For example, if you change a spell, item, or quest in the database, the 1.12 client would immediately recognize it. But in the post-cataclysm client, the CLIENT is the receptacle of these things, and that is how Blizzard do "hotfixes." Basically changes to the game without having to restart the server or have any disruption of the gameplay. The big one that has been noticeable to me is items. Basically any items that are changed on the server database will not be changed on the client, and I am sure that would also trigger the anticheat. Like this server plans on changing the itemization of items over time right? The client wont recognize that. It will only recognize the 1.14 values from official Classic unless you personally deploy a change in the files that would read these "hotfixes." Which I can not figure out how to do myself, its a lot. So from what I can see, using it while leveling is ideal. Allows you to use addons and stuff that can really smooth out the process. But I would recommend avoiding the underwater quests, and avoid using it at max level if you know they are either editing items, or doing something with items in general that will change over time. I'm not sure what else is stored client side that wasn't in the past, but I do know that Quests operate the way you would expect them to, so that wont be a problem at least.
No matter what I do, I keep getting the "invalid username or password" message. And believe me. Everything is followed step by step. Tried disable authenticator. Nothing helps. Any idea?
Mhh... usually this message means: that you have a typo somewhere in your login information and or are using the wrong realmlist. Just in case: localhost address (127.0.0.1) goes into your classic folder (config file/realm list: SET portal "127.0.0.1") and the real realmlist goes in your hermes proxy ("ServerAddress" value=logon.everlook.org" without the set realmlist text, for example: logon.everlook.org). When i had 2FA i needed to log-in via the normal 1.12.1 client, put in my token in (i set it up so i just need to put it in when my ip changes) and then used the 1.14.0 one. If i didn't do that i would also get "invalid username or password" message. Make also sure to use the most up-to-date version of hermes and arctium. What else you can try is to copy your account data folder from the 1.12.1 client and paste that in your Hermes Proxy folder. I hope this will help you!

Anyone knows how to fix that sound bug from the spells after casting it ? Im actually using a macro that resets sound but compeltely freezes the game. Any other fix ?

And by the way, I figured something out... when an addOn folder is named something like ''Atlas-master'' you gotta remove the -master in the name for it to work. And also, some addon folders are subdivided into different folders and it's those folders you gotta put in your addOns folder. If you only put the main folder, it won't recognize the components.

Is anyone else having issues with spell sounds sometimes looping forever until you log out? Would love to know how to fix this if possible. Also in the HermesProxy window I'm getting a bunch of "Warning | WorldClient | No handler for opcode SMSG_SPELL_EXECUTE_LOG " messages on repeat. Not sure if its an issue.
can you jump under water on the vanilla client? I find that it's not retail whereas in 1.14 you float up when holding space and i remember this from my childhood
Having a problem. I make everything correct what i can see but when i use the shortcut it starts do everything till it says jump jump jump. Then i tries to load something, but it just closes and nothing opens
main issue with the 1.12.1 client is it's not really optimized for ultra-wide resolutions where the field of view is too close to the player, and you cannot zoom out that far. making it seem like your character is running at half speed at super ultrawide resolutions. so, you have to play it in windowed mode might actually give this a try.

I unzipped the Arctium file but there is no Arctium WoW Launcher.exe file in it? There is a Arctium.WoW.Launcher.sln file though that does nothing. How do I get the exe?? So I fixed it by downloading the "release" version. The version you link to is the .sln version.
I saw another video about this from a ways back but it seems like jumping through hoops if you want to play different expansions and such. 1.12.1 takes less configuration to get working decently in my opinion. Only issue I've had with it would be resolutions above 1600x1200 not showing on a particular monitor I have but maximized window mode works fine.

Amazing work, and it funcions well (Vanilla). I been trying to run 2.4.2 (tbc private server) with the client 2.5.2. Apparently it can be done (in Hermes config file says its able). It works loading the login screen, and takes the account well, but when it shows the servers all are in grey like they would be offline so cant play with the classic client tbc. Is there something that im missing? Or its simply not designed to work on tbc?
It works great BUT I have a big problem in battlegrounds: I play rogue and my energy bar gets stucked in 0 when I ress sometimes, and it doesnt tick even if I die and ress again. How can I fix it? The only "solution" I found is using trickery (tistle tea should work as well), and then cast an ability that requires energy like distract, and it again works fine but untill thst Im useless, cannot cast a single ability and I have to waste my cd to fix it. THEN, I have another big problem in battlegrounds, all the BGs there are 1 or 2 enemies that are not enemies for me!! They are green and I cannot attack them, but they CAN ATTACK ME. What can I do? I play in retrowow and bgs are mixed horde and alliance tho, but it only fails like this in some random players.
In theory it should be the same just that you use the 1.14.2 client. Don't know if hermes already supports the 1.14.2 one tho, you would need to give it a try - like shown here! :D
@@VincentADK no i typed wrong i meant 1.14.2. Im using 1.14.0 now and it works fine but some addons dont work..... i saw ppl at everlook started using 1.14.2 since Hermes started supporting it and i dont know how to set it up. ill start it and see if it appears.
@@sneakytucky I have some visual bugs, but that's just how it is. It's not a perfect solution and needs a lot of work. I don't have sound bugs tho. At least not yet

Hi Vincent thank you for your Video, already helped me a lot. I did try to adapt the Guide and did try to connect with a 2.5.2 client to a 2.4.3 server. Sadly I get the Error "Battlenet.LogonRequest: Attempted to log in with wrong game version (using 40892)!" Which I guess means that I'm not allowed to connect with a 2.5.2 client, is there anyway I can "send" that I'm using the game version 8606?
Did you have the blizzard launcher open? And yeah it's a hit or miss sometimes, if you can't connect it's most likely that it's blocked on some level. :/
If Elysium and Kronos supports also the 1.14.0 client you just need to change the server adress in hermes proxy from the Everlook one to the one used by Elysium or Kronos. Make sure to delete your WDB folder and make sure you are using the correct login information.

@@Norish1337 I have a pinned comment were i go over some fixes for certain problems. Make sure you don't have battlenet open, make sure you are using the correct client! Make sure your Arctium luncher is up-to date same for your hermes proxy. Could also be that you have corrupted files and need to download the client again

I got everything setup, logged into the game, hermesproxy throwing all kinds of errors, ontop of that, I have no ability buttons, and no stance bar. Any idea what the heck is going on?! Id love to use this, I can run around and its smooth as butter.
Make sure you are using up to date versions of the proxy and the arctium launcher. Try to disable addons if you are using them And make sure to delete your WDB folder
Didn't had any troubles using that on Everlook. Having said that, it's been a few months when i last played there. In theory if you follow this guide to a tee, it should work without any issues. In case you encounter some errors have a look at the pinned comment! There are some bugs tho, it's not a perfect solution :D

@@jarlfisk I have a video on that. You pretty much can get addons from legacy wow and curseforge. Make sure it supports the client. Pretty much hit and miss.
Better graphics, more stable since it's a modern client, you can use all the Classic Vanilla WoW addons (like weakauras), same for macros. There are more reasons but i think you get the idea.
@@jarlfisk You should be fine, i can't say you won't get banned. But there is like a very very small chance. Others are using the client since the beginning of the project and they are fine. Performance wise it should be better. Ping wise should be about the same
Hey Mace! Well you shouldn't get in trouble BUT there is still a risk involved. That's why (and some other reasons) they can't support it officially. I used it without any issues others too. But i have to say it and warn everyone :D
Already been answered. Make sure your blizzard launcher isn't open. Make sure you are using the correct client. Make sure you use the correct realmlist.
On this client (on Everlook) I have an issue with other players rubberbanding constantly. I have 100ms and on the 1.12 client there's no rubberbanding for me. Anyone else have this issue? Another issue I have is the persistent rain bug (showcased here: th-cam.com/video/D1bnPwjStFg/w-d-xo.html) but others don't have this issue, anyone else experience this?
Not atm, hermes proxy would need to be re-written to use something other then 1.14.0. If you mean playing without all that stuff there would needs to be another working anti-cheat. Warden the current anti-cheat only works with 1.12.1, that's why you need hermes proxy to translate the packages back to 1.12.1. How i understand that's were the legal issue comes from. If that makes sense
@@VincentADK Maybe it's me, but the video isn't very clear about this. I'm already using a 1.12 client (so I log in to it every day) and have 2FA enabled. Are issues to be expected with 2FA only if you've never logged via a 1.12 client at all?
Make sure you use the Arctium Launcher Shortcut and that it has the proper commands in it, like shown in the video. Also make sure it's the correct client. Don't have the Blizzard Launcher (Battlenet) in the backround running.

Yeah that's most likely the problem. You pretty much need to follow exactly that what i am doing in the guide. You need a 1.14.0.40618 WoW client for it to work. ♥

There is both an FoV mod and a command to scroll out way more

You can't use it with Turtle WoW, since Turtle WoW uses a completely different custom client.

I unzipped the Arctium file but there is no Arctium WoW Launcher.exe file in it? There is a Arctium.WoW.Launcher.sln file though that does nothing. How do I get the exe??
So I fixed it by downloading the "release" version. The version you link to is the .sln version.
I saw another video about this from a ways back but it seems like jumping through hoops if you want to play different expansions and such. 1.12.1 takes less configuration to get working decently in my opinion. Only issue I've had with it would be resolutions above 1600x1200 not showing on a particular monitor I have but maximized window mode works fine.

Great guide, I get everything working and wow opens when I have Hermes open og click the shortcut.
But when I type my account name and password, it just says that I dc. I have followed everything you done and opening the 1.14 client and all that. I just cant seem to log in.

Amazing work, and it funcions well (Vanilla).
I been trying to run 2.4.2 (tbc private server) with the client 2.5.2. Apparently it can be done (in Hermes config file says its able). It works loading the login screen, and takes the account well, but when it shows the servers all are in grey like they would be offline so cant play with the classic client tbc.
Is there something that im missing? Or its simply not designed to work on tbc?
Hard to say, some projects don‘t support the newer classic client. :/
I have the issue that i did the steps correctly, but it doesnt connect to Everlook. Can somebody help me out?
It works great BUT I have a big problem in battlegrounds:
I play rogue and my energy bar gets stucked in 0 when I ress sometimes, and it doesnt tick even if I die and ress again.
How can I fix it? The only "solution" I found is using trickery (tistle tea should work as well), and then cast an ability that requires energy like distract, and it again works fine but untill thst Im useless, cannot cast a single ability and I have to waste my cd to fix it.
THEN, I have another big problem in battlegrounds, all the BGs there are 1 or 2 enemies that are not enemies for me!! They are green and I cannot attack them, but they CAN ATTACK ME. What can I do? I play in retrowow and bgs are mixed horde and alliance tho, but it only fails like this in some random players.
I can deal with the old legacy server but don't have the patience to find addons that actually work.
Can you make a video how to set up 1.14.2 client?
In theory it should be the same just that you use the 1.14.2 client. Don't know if hermes already supports the 1.14.2 one tho, you would need to give it a try - like shown here! :D

@@sneakytucky I have some visual bugs, but that's just how it is. It's not a perfect solution and needs a lot of work. I don't have sound bugs tho. At least not yet

Hi Vincent thank you for your Video, already helped me a lot. I did try to adapt the Guide and did try to connect with a 2.5.2 client to a 2.4.3 server. Sadly I get the Error "Battlenet.LogonRequest: Attempted to log in with wrong game version (using 40892)!" Which I guess means that I'm not allowed to connect with a 2.5.2 client, is there anyway I can "send" that I'm using the game version 8606?
Did you have the blizzard launcher open?
And yeah it's a hit or miss sometimes, if you can't connect it's most likely that it's blocked on some level. :/

Hello , it worked like a glove for Everlook , question , Elysium-project support this Kronos IV wow client 1.12.1 ? if so how i connect ?
If Elysium and Kronos supports also the 1.14.0 client you just need to change the server adress in hermes proxy from the Everlook one to the one used by Elysium or Kronos. Make sure to delete your WDB folder and make sure you are using the correct login information.

Make sure your Arctium luncher is up-to date same for your hermes proxy. Could also be that you have corrupted files and need to download the client again

I got everything setup, logged into the game, hermesproxy throwing all kinds of errors, ontop of that, I have no ability buttons, and no stance bar. Any idea what the heck is going on?! Id love to use this, I can run around and its smooth as butter.
Make sure you are using up to date versions of the proxy and the arctium launcher.
Try to disable addons if you are using them
And make sure to delete your WDB folder

Didn't had any troubles using that on Everlook. Having said that, it's been a few months when i last played there. In theory if you follow this guide to a tee, it should work without any issues. In case you encounter some errors have a look at the pinned comment! There are some bugs tho, it's not a perfect solution :D

No, won't work. Turtle uses another client and has custom patches.

What's the benefit on 1.14 over 1.12.1
Better graphics, more stable since it's a modern client, you can use all the Classic Vanilla WoW addons (like weakauras), same for macros.
There are more reasons but i think you get the idea.

Well you shouldn't get in trouble BUT there is still a risk involved. That's why (and some other reasons) they can't support it officially. I used it without any issues others too. But i have to say it and warn everyone :D
I'm getting lua errors when opening quest links in the chat on Everlook. Is this normal with this client?
Could be because of different quest addon versions.
Also i think a lot of people using pfQuest which doesn't exsist in Classic.

On this client (on Everlook) I have an issue with other players rubberbanding constantly. I have 100ms and on the 1.12 client there's no rubberbanding for me. Anyone else have this issue? Another issue I have is the persistent rain bug (showcased here: th-cam.com/video/D1bnPwjStFg/w-d-xo.html) but others don't have this issue, anyone else experience this?

There has to be a way to make this work with the current classic era version of 1.14 provided via blizzard
Not atm, hermes proxy would need to be re-written to use something other then 1.14.0.
If you mean playing without all that stuff there would needs to be another working anti-cheat.
Warden the current anti-cheat only works with 1.12.1, that's why you need hermes proxy to translate the packages back to 1.12.1. How i understand that's were the legal issue comes from. If that makes sense

arctium launcher giving me error no retail client found any work around?
Make sure you use the Arctium Launcher Shortcut and that it has the proper commands in it, like shown in the video.
Also make sure it's the correct client.
Don't have the Blizzard Launcher (Battlenet) in the backround running.
@@VincentADK i'd add the winterspring launcher on the description it worked like a charm it pretty much does everything from downloading the game to creating folder to launching & configuring arctium launcher

oi think i have to use this, my 1.12 is just crashing none stop :( did ZF i had someting like 11 crashes.

You could also make sure if it's not an addon that causes the crashes. Try disabling those one by one and check then.
