I'm gonna buy a device for community firmware and keep my original for the official firmware. Thanks for making this video. I knew nothing about the community firmware till now. Thanks
Oh great! That's a good way to do it if you want to be extra safe. Alternatively, you could just have 2 separate SD cards and load whichever firmware and content you want to play with at the time (though 2 Deluges does sound fun!)
@BayMud no matter what I have wanted the new Deluge. I don't wanna change the original. But your idea with loading the different firmwares on different SDs is also really good.
Great Video for those who don´t understand why there is a community Firmware & what it actually is & how things are going on... right now. Okay then.. waiting for the RC 🙂
I think I've had two crashes in over six years. the OLED vs 7-seg thing..... both of mine have the OLED now, & it did make a difference to the speed with which I could find things, but it is definitely not essential. all the same functionality is there, whether it's in proper writing or red crayola... 😂 a magnificent machine which was fully-formed from the get-go, & just gets better with each solid iteration of the open-source versions. the way synthstrom run their business & treat their customers is exemplary, & should be the standard by which communication & support from other manufacturers is judged. yeah, torso, I mean you.
I don't have a Deluge but I remember when the devs didn't want to open the software up to the community. It's pretty amazing that they did! This makes me regret going with the Akai Force as my brains of my DAWless setup. That thing has so many bugs.
I've been using the Beethoven, pretty staple, less pop's n drop out's. Only issue, Sticky shift, I had the backlit blue led, not on. So I don't know if it's been a combo settings error on my part. Re installed, all OK. Keep an eye peeps 😊
@BayMud the new firmware makes the new oled screen emulate the old digital style screen, I tried it but I just looked like hyroglifics to me ,i just had too reset the machine ,the early users with the 7seg screen must have had to deal with a whole nuther layer of complexity Great video anyway ✌🏻
Appreciate mentioning that devs are volunteering their time. The public should understand and practice patience.
Definitely! It's amazing this is all being done in spare time
This video needed to be made good work!!!
Thanks Ron! Looking forward to your videos explaing how I can use all the new features
Another Deluge User happy with your content mate.

Yeah, I never thought open source would actually happen either, but am very glad it did!

i tried putting my oled in segmented mode , got completely lost
What do you mean by segmented mode?

Oh, right! That makes sense. I still have the old 7SEG display and love it, but might upgrade someday
We need chromatic keyboard.
I used to want that too, but honestly don't miss it at all anymore
