- With it now being Bachelor offseason it's time to take a look back at our past seasons and give them a grade. After taking a look at Hannah's season of The Bachelorette we're back with Bachelor in Paradise Season 6. So how does the season shape up? I just wanted to thank you for all you have taught me about sleuthing and tin foil hat conspiracies! I have been watching a bachelor spin off show called "Provo's Most Eligible" during the off season and its been fun trying to sleuth out who is going to win 😊
It would actually be pretty funny if you did a video recap of it, but I know since it's a spin off it doesn't exactly fall in line with your other videos. It's on TH-cam, and epsidoe 3 of season 2 comes out tonight. It's based out of a college town in Utah, filmed by a mix of students and professionals. Just in case you ever greet bored, and want more sleuthing, haha 😄

I love movie romance and JPJ/Tayshia was the best part of paradise.
Dean and Caelynn were DMing each other right after Colton's season, I wouldn't say their relationship only started when Paradise did.
I still view that couple with clown music in the background. Caelynn played herself this season and Dean came across selfish, imo.
I was disappointed we did not see more interactions between Mike and Caelynn, and then Mike and Sydney to see why they were not able to connect. I think if they showed each date in it's entirety like the others, I might have a better idea as to why things didn't work out. I felt robbed not knowing what really happened with his dates instead of just speculating. Otherwise, I enjoyed each episode.

agreed! i feel like they gave Mike the biggest bachelor edit on Hannah's season & then when the fans called for him to be bachelor ABC quickly retreated and essentially cut him out of BiP to try and get us to forget about him
that Matt Donald kiss scene was the most iconic thing to happen
I thought that bringing Demi's girl friend on the show was wrong because the all the other contestants were all from Bachelor Nation alum. Also, it was awkward because Demi had eliminated all those available. so I felt she should have just left the show. She had made her choice which was Christian who was not an alum like all the others.

it's cynical honestly, you know production only did that so they could cash in on having gay representation for ratings, even if it sticks out like a sore thumb. I would have much rather seen two contestants, maybe some of the bi women in past seasons, come together during the show. Literally just bringing Kristian there to be with Demi on TV was extremely forced given how the show normally operates.

Demi never eliminated anyone, it was her and derek for a while then her and Kristian-she was never given more power than anyone else. A lot of people took themselves out of it and that’s how we got so few people towards the end.
Fortnite Account Generator but no one ever had a lesbian gf brought to the show either. They added something bip lacked, realness and relatability, not everyone’s straight and not everyone wanted to hear stagecoach for the umpteenth time

The whole bringing Kristian into paradise was extremely forced by producers so it felt disingenuous. I hope they dont do something like that again. Production this season was wack.
Keep it with the Alum. The show wanted to bring the gay angle on this show/franchise but this was the wrong way to do so. No one from the outside world (gay or straight) should be allowed to be on this show.
Totally fair rating. It was such a let down cause I love paradise and it felt extra lame after an amazing Bachelorette season.
I agree. I would have loved to see more of the couples together. It seemed that as soon as Hannah and Dylan committed to each other they became a side note. Some of the “drama” was hammered into the ground and annoying. I would have liked to see more of the couples like on Winter Games. The couple focus there was perfect.

The season was meh to me. I didn't like the whole Stage Coach thing and them beating up on Blake was overkill. I find Caetlyn bringing up her and Blake so lame. It ruined the show for me from the jump and could barely watch after that. I just don't like her, such a drama queen. Good luck living in the van. Didn't like that people met up before the show, not cool at all. The show didn't seem organic to me, and was too controlled. But,.....happy for the engagements. Really rooting for Katie and Chris.

Too many first nighters, too much focus on Blake shenanigans and fallout, Christina was horrible, and Christian did seem convenient. My least favorite Paradise.
demi talks about how when chris harrison said he had a surprise for her, she thought she was walking up the stairs to meet her team or manager or whatever who was gonna day “hey, let’s go get your girl”. she didn’t think kristian was gonna be there so that wasn’t pre-planned

I mean, people in the bachelor world has heard before the show that Demi was going to bring her girlfriend on and get engaged to her. It seems pretty likely to me, since it was multiple people, that they are right and that it was completely pre-planned.
yea but that’s because the show had completely wrapped up filming before airing so lots of people knew. it could have easily gotten out

I feel like they stuck too many people in at the end who ended up getting eliminated in 3 days or not leaving together, that's why there was not a lot of engagements. (Chase, Revian, Connor S, Bri, Luke S, Matt, Angela) All of the couples who are together were all from week 1 with the exception of Kristian and Dean (who came in week 2)
I would have given it a much higher grade purely from it being the palate cleanser I desperately needed after the Luke P show (which I grade lower than your grade for what YOU call "Hannah's season"--so maybe how we grade the Bachelorette season before might well impact how we felt about the Paradise season. But I did agree with pretty much everything you said.
I would agree that Season 6 of Bachelor in Paradise was definitely an entertaining one. This season ended with three engagements and many couples leaving paradise as couples. The season was full of drama, romance, and heartbreak. My favorite couple is Hannah and Dylan, they were together from the start and their love for each other was real. I was also very happy that Caelynn and Dean ended up leaving paradise together, I felt bad for Connor at the time, but I know she made the right decision. I was also happy when I found out JPJ and Tyesha started dating again after the show. When I recently saw that the broke up, I was very sad but slightly not surprised. I feel like she felt too much pressure while filming the show and she wasn’t ready to be engaged. She was very real and upfront about her feelings which was what I liked the most about her. It was cute when she showed up at his house and asked him for a second chance. On the other hand, I sadly feel like Chris and Katie won’t last much longer together. He isn’t giving her what she needs in a relationship and he isn’t putting in enough effort. I’m surprised that they ended up getting engaged because they seemed very rocky towards the end of the season when things started to get real and when the time to propose came closer. The biggest shock of the season was when Kristian walked down the stairs in paradise. I was glad that she and Demi were happily together on the show, but I did feel bad for Derek. However, Demi recently revealed that she and Kristian are no longer together.
Something that I agree with that is mentioned in this video is how much the producers influenced the production of the show. First, I’ll start off with Clay’s ex-girlfriend, Angela being brought onto the show. Clay was finally settling down with Nicole and they were very happy together. They attended a wedding midway through the season and Angela was a part of the wedding party. This was the first time they had seen each other since they broke up, just a few months after he started on the show. They sat down and chatted and ended on a good note, and the next thing you know she arrives on the beach the next week. Of course, Nichole is freaking out that Clay was going to leave her for Angela. However, they didn’t end up back together and Clay and Nichole ended up breaking up on the last episode of the show.
Another instance when the producers influenced the show was when Kristian, Demi’s girlfriend from home was brought onto the show. I was a little confused as to why Demi was on the show in the first place if she was already dating Kristian. Demi brings good entertainment and drama to the show, so this was probably why producers asked her to come on the show. However, it was a little suspicious when Demi is finally settling down with Derek that Chris Harrison pulls Demi aside and tells her that Kristian is here. So, viewers of the show are just supposed to believe that Kristian dropped everything and hopped on the next flight to Mexico? I don’t think so. I felt so bad for Derek because I really think he liked her a lot. I also give Kristian a lot of credit for letting Demi go on a dating show and not knowing what is going to happen while she was away.
The last major thing that I agree was planned was the whole Connor and Whitney moment. Again, Connor met her at the wedding that everyone attended. They had a few good conversations and that was all. Connor gets back to paradise and starts mentioning wanting to see her again and he says that he wishes she would come to paradise next. Ultimately, he decides to leave the show because there is no one on the beach that he is interested in. The same day he leaves the show Whitney shows up on the beach, what a coincidence. She is on the beach for maybe ten minutes then decides to leave and find Connor. The next thing you know she’s in his hotel room because he just happens to not be at the airport leaving to go home.
Overall, I agree with the ratings given in this video. I would give the overall production score something closer to a C instead of a D-. Having the producers influence the show is what makes it exciting and more drama-filled. They should try and make it less obvious when they make “mess” with the show.
Personally i think this season sucked. Didn’t even hold a candle compared to a few years ago with shark girl and scallop fingers
Had to mention this because you put Caelynn and Dean as an example of couples who stayed together without ever having contact before Paradise but alot of peoppe forget that during Coltons season of the Bachelor, during the final rose multiple girls called out Caelynn for sliding into Deans dms BEFORE or DURING the season and this was months before Paradise

Serena Mcbride he was on for two episodes and was booted off because he knew he wasn’t getting a rose at the end. His attitude left something to be desired, snapping at Mike because he disagreed with him? Not cool.

I saw an interview where Rachel Lindsay said she would have liked it better if all the drama was revealed later on which i couldn’t agree more. We started off with all this drama from outside of the show that wasn’t even very clear and we just had to try and keep up with the she said he said.

Didn’t love this season it focused too much on Blake and the stage coach thing which was fun at first but then overkill. Best part was Jordan. Other than that the couples and drama was bleh. Also I wasn’t fond of Demi getting special treatment 🙄

I feel like this ranking is inaccurate. I dont' love fighting either but the cast was so entertaining this year. some where very endearing, some were shady, some were just entertaining. I personally would have given cast a a-, romance a b, & production a c? just my thoughts
Dean and Caelynn are suspected to have known each other from before BIP tho! If you look back at Colton's WTA, when Katie and Kirpa are calling out Caelynn for her convo with Cassie on the bus, Katie makes a comment saying something along the lines that Caelynn's values are, "clubbing and sliding into Dean's DM's" and Kirpa further says she slides into old cast member's DM's! Just a thought or something interesting to take into consideration.

I adore Queen Demi! She gets a B+. The rest of it was a D. My favorite season was the one that Evan&Carly got engaged at the end of it. Carly is my favorite girl (G.O.A.T.)on this BIPshow, A++++.

Robin Trevor maybe they’re trying to take the focus away after getting some negative responses to their relationship. Demi might still be wrestling with being out. Those fears don’t go away all at once. JPJ and Tayshia and Chris and Katie haven’t posted many pics with each other either.

demi and kristian were literally the best part of the entire season so no matter how produced it was or how produced it seemed it was smart (even if for selfish reasons) that the producers brought kristian on. and demi just being a bartender and then having kristian show up would have been stupid as fuck and people would have complained about it anyway so I'm completely fine with how it played out because the most important thing is that we got to see two people be in love and work out their relationship while also having the bachelor franchise finally give some sort of representation to the lgbt community
Just because it was representation doesn't mean it was good representation... we could argue about whether bad representation is better than no representation (I personally don't think so but I'm not 100% sure) but it was straight-up forced, a cynical move on the production's part to get better ratings and more money for having gay representation in 2019. BIP has NEVER had someone who wasn't a former cast member of Bachelor/Bacherlorette. They literally just brought Kristian on so they could televise her and Demi being in a relationship together. That is not how BIP has ever operated before, so it sticks out like a sore thumb and really gives you the impression they just did it for good PR coverage. Listen, I don't know you and I hate to criticize something you enjoyed, but you shouldn't be afraid to be critical of this just because they represented same-sex couples. As a bi woman, I'm insulted by how forced it was. Even though I enjoyed their time on screen, I just could've shake how cynical it all felt. I also have come to expect more (i.e. not having bad representation and calling it good) but then again, I really should've with this franchise with all the dumb shit they've done in the past. I guess if how cynical it all was doesn't bother you than that's great, but unfortunately it totally ruined it for me.
Production really irked me this season. The shenanigans were stupid. I get that you need “the drama” but shit like letting Connor leave knowing full well Whitney was on her way(even if they were in on it, which I don’t know) was frustrating. And not frustrating in a nail biting good way. Frustrating in a “I almost wish there was no production and they just had cameras everywhere because these producers suck ass” kinda way.
I STILL do not comprehend why anyone would say, "Why are Demi and Kristian still there?" because by that logic, then why were Dylan and Hannah still there? The goal is to find love, and if they make it to the end, possibly an engagement. The goal is not simply, "Okay, we're now willing to give this relationship a go exclusively in the real world." And I really don't think their prior relationship was anything more than, say, Blake and Kristina's or others who had been in months of DMing each other together with some meet-ups and "hanging out." I'm sure Kristian *wanted* things to be more serious with her and Demi all along, but Demi wasn't ready yet. It felt like her first real attempt at a relationship with a woman. I'm sure she grew before our eyes. But at one point, a casual aside from Kristian that didn't seem rehearsed whatsoever had her describing their "relationship" as "weeks" of "talking." They weren't living together; clearly Demi was uncomfortable about public dates. So it was probably just an undeniable chemistry between them that Demi felt and Kristian trying to convince Demi to just give it a try at least and LIVE HER LIFE for her own happiness. That's not a "relationship" in my book. They clearly weren't even dating in the traditional sense.
Thank you! I didn't get all the criticism, the time on paradise was clearly vital to the relationship and Demi explained it well in later interviews. Also, we _did_ need a queer couple on the franchise and they seem like a good start!
The only think good that came out of this season was Hannah and Dylan
I loved Demi and Kristian but do not like the way the Production team went about it. If the show wanted to introduce a bi storyline then they should accept more bisexual people onto the show (it would also be amazing to see a non-binary &/or transgender person in the franchise but they don't think we're ready). Up until Demi came out in the preview's for BiP this season, Jamie from Nick's season and BiP 4 was the ONLY out person on the entire cast! I remember feeling a discord when she was on BiP because a big storyline was whether she would ask out a man or a woman with her date card despite her being the ONLY queer woman on the entire franchise up until 2 months ago.
To me, keeping Demi and Kristian on the show as contestants felt like ABC found out MTV was releasing an all-bi season of Are You The One and they wanted to compete as well as them wanting a way to showcase Demi (although she would have been perfect as a bartender).
My least favorite season. Too much production obviousness. Way too much.
