Weekly Writing Vlog | Starting my new story and talking about my new method

  • I started off January editing the short story I wrote in December, and then jumped into a whole new story afterwards. I never learn to pace myself! I also talk a little about the method I've used for both these stories, which is basically writing the story twice and putting it together like a big ol’ puzzle.

Yes so excited to see your stuff. Also for as much a people poo poo about romance and erotic for a lot of the world smexy and love is everyones guilty pleasure. We are just more open while everyone else is embarrassed to admit they want and like it too. I'm here for you lets bring smut to authortube. 😆

EXACTLY! Too long have women been afraid to actually enjoy things, and to that we say, "no more!" Because it's fun and the world is on fire, so just let us enjoy things! Dude I am so down for the smut community growing on YT. I feel like the YA community is the largest on authortube (which, obvs, I love that shit so no complaints), but man I wish there was more of US. 😂

    What program do you use?

I use Dabble (dabblewriter . com)! Unfortunately, it is a pay-to-use software, though they do have a free trial. I have the standard plan, and so far I'm enjoying it!

@aprilkayauthor Thank you. That shot of your goal and progress caught my eye. Do you feel like seeing it on screen motivates you?

@@QtheTerrible I do! Being able to just glance over and see that I only have 90 words to hit my daily goal, or if I’m only 2K away from hitting a milestone can usually encourage me to keep going. Dabble also has a little pop-up that’ll appear to say, “Congratulations! You hit your daily goal!” and another when you hit your project goal-this one with digital confetti. It’s really silly and means nothing in the end, but getting those pop-ups feels so rewarding sometimes lol. Tracking my word count is probably my favorite feature from the NaNoWriMo website, so being able to do it in the same program that I’m using to write just makes it so much easier too-I don’t have to navigate away from anything so there’s less chance of me getting distracted.

@aprilkayauthor I might have to check it out. The tracker on the Nano site is the best feature, in my opinion, too, and I've noticed I did my best writing when I was using it. I love the idea of a little celebration when you hit goals. I think things like that could help with writer's block and low motivation. The confetti sounds cool!
