WOOOO! First video to kick off the channel. I'm an avid woodworker, classical guitar maker, and classical guitar player (hence the right hand finger nails) who loves to explore the many creative opportunities of wood working. Feel free to ask me any questions. I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching.
Great stick!!! The other reason I like this stick is that the buttons and stick are mounted near the top of the stick and you have alot of room to rest your wrists. There are too many sticks that mount the buttons and stick to the center which gives you no place to rest your wrists. Granted, keeping your wrists on the wrist-rest area is not a good idea but sometimes you need to take breaks while playing.
Keep it up! I'm a street fighter fan from russia (well, street fighter is not very popular in russia, but there are street fighter entusiasts like me!, and i very like how it looks!
The whole project looks awesome, but I thought the clamping jig you used to hold down the pieces while gluing was really interesting. I'd never seen that before
I watched this video three times. Great! loved it :) I am going to make a pair of fighting sticks for the ps4 and outside of some initial costs of getting some of the material for a basic stick and encoder recommended here, I can't afford planer at this time, but have a friend who is willing to sell me he electric hand planer for really cheap. My issue is I am completely new to woodworking so it may be better to just go back and have a shop get me a clean straight board..not sure. I was able to build my first arcade cab and really feel proud of that. I acquired some good tools but a few things I still feel I need. Until I can get a planer or jointer I wondered how useful the hand planer may be by itself for now. Some of the wood I bought from the store (my first problem) has some very slight bows that could use some help before I make my cuts. I have options from the wood I have of red oak, pine, mdf, or some weird hardwood I have no name for I picked up at my friends house he gave me, he has no idea either but it looks pretty (about a handipanel worth). Anyways, either way gave me some good learning tips watching none the less. :)
Thanks for taking time to comment, Andy! I'm glad you liked the video. A hand planer can be useful, I would recommend removing as little material as possible with each pass. Another option would be using a router to flatten the boards out. It does require jigs and a bit of set up though. You can do a search for "router sled slab" and see a ton of videos. Best of luck to you!
wew. from reading just the link I expected a shitbox made of 2x4s and gorilla glue, not this beauty. Wouldn't be surprised if the next stick has these fancy japanese dovetail joints. Very bueno indeed, man.

Sorry it took so long! It's called a chamfer plane.

Which wood was used ? For that whole process ?
So cool!!!
Available to purchase? Amazing work

This is awesome I think I saw a few others on Facebook, are these the kind of thing you’re looking to sell?
I saw in another video that you used to sell buttons and other parts for fightsticks. Do you still have anything available?
I currently do not have anything for sale.
That’s so sick man. I wish i could afford a fight stick to play my fighting games ☹️. I’m definitely subscribing 👍🏼

Товарищ, это было охуенно! Желаю тебе побед в онлайне против Модерн Контрол читеров.
Is it magnets that holds on the back panel? And was that super glue you used to affix them?
Yes, CA glue or you could use epoxy.
Fantástico 🦾😁
