Hi , if possible , can you write or make video explaining how to do the lvl 30 glitch with pvp ? I tried to do it but I dont know how to pop out the pvp when you load the save file + dont know how to make the code to get the NaN buff thingy . Thanks for any answers :) and congrats to the WR .
Thanks! Aside from everything that's obvious in the video, a couple of things must be done to get the fight to work correctly (this took me like an hour to figure out even with the knowledge I had so it's very tricky and I had some times where the buggy fight wouldn't work and I still don't know exactly why, so if that happens to you make sure to restart a save file and do exactly what I do in the run). Firstly the way you reach this menu is by pressing CTRL + Enter while in the overworld. This is the frame advance feature but for some reason it causes this menu to show up. Using it in battle also causes the battle to instantly end in a win for your team, and counts for advancing the story (which is why the category is specified as no stage skips). Afterwards we want the training fight to be as easy as possible. This was really tricky to figure out, since it's not really obvious how we can import either a weak or a buggy opponent. In the end though, the data I found to work is exactly the text: START_!&!%,*$*,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,*$*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,*$*,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,*$*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,NODATA,*^*,*$*,7,*$*,!&!%_END Make sure this is the exact text and that there are no extra spaces or anything added at the end! If you get an error message saying something along the lines of "Make sure the data starts with START and ends with END" it most likely means the text was put in wrong, so try a couple more times with some adjustments, maybe post the text somewhere else and then copy it again. If you still can't get it to work then you can join the sonny discord (link on speedrun.com) and ask us there :) if you paste this into the import character screen, the fight should end in a win for you as long as sonny is not the only one entering the battle. There are some other weird features this whole fight has that I can't really make sense of. For example: in the run I always select my newly made file twice while setting it up in the pvp arena since I don't want to use any files made before the start of the run (this is even banned in the rules). However let's say you have a fight played up until the end of zone 5 that has Sonny, Veradux and Roald as your party members and you select this file as the second player, while still selecting your new file as the first player. Even though you will still overwrite that save data with the text pasted above, after ending the same buggy fight for some reason the game will max out roalds level as well, even though you won't have even unlocked him yet. Another key thing I should mention is that I save and quit to title once more after the buggy fight is done. This is because when you go into a fight like this, for some reason the game will replace the enemy in the middle with a buggy copy of sonny like the one you fought in the buggy fight. Not only is this not the pure way you'd play the game, but your sonny will also still die after the first turn, just like he does in the buggy fight. Reloading the save file is the only way I found that resets this behavior back to normal. A similar trick also works in sonny, although there you won't gain infinite exp even though it says NaN because exp gain is capped to the next levelup in that game (leveling up there would also be kinda bad since leveling up greatly reduces your piercing in sonny 1 only) I hope that explains everything, it's pretty fun to play around with so if you have any more questions feel free to ask!
@@CreepyGar Thank you again for you guide , it works smootly . Now I can enjoy the game even more and maybe get to the zone 6 and 7 that I never reached and even know about them .

@@CreepyGar I did the same as in the video but when it came to the loadingsave part it didn't automatically show pvp like you did.
"Me and the pipe... We go way back"
I saw the thumbnail and couldn't believe my eyes, I used to play this game so much when I was little, this is great.
It would be class if this was on Steam. I never thought id see someone do a speedrun for this really obscure rpg from back in the day. Great work!
Thanks!
Speaking of which, the Sonny Legacy Collection (Both Sonny 1 & 2) did get released on Steam at the end of September this year.
Thank you for running this gem
Tho was gonna be glitchless still congratz
