Quick tip: anything with oil (oil based or straight up oil) should be applied LAST. It’s harder for products to penetrate oil, so they should be last to seal everything in :)
i want the benefits of the oil on my skin before moisturiser so i'll stick to that thanks. basic carrier oils are fine for over creams but special ones should go first.
Interesting, I agree with partially both of what your saying. Having combo / oily skin and over 35 I really don’t have the need for creams after 1st always ( my serum ) then an oil. However at times I will certainly add an eye cream after the oil has been on at least 30 mins or so. TY
Annie Bergquist face oils placed on skin seek out sebum from the dermis, it’s going to trick ur skin into accepting other ingredients put on after for example retinols and glycolic acid should be applied after if you want to get the most benefit from them
Would love to see a routine for the pregnant ladies! While I enjoy skincare I have had to stop using my normal products because of the chemicals they contain, but I still want to take good care of my skin, especially during this time in my life.
I love how detailed and precise ur videos are, yet short and so easily to watch. I’m looking forward to more and more educating videos as they are so inspiring❤️
In winter I use foundations with SPF and in summer I put transparent sunscreen on top of my skin care and make up. Neck and cleavage too. 100% Natural products for skin care and big brands products for serum and make up. This is advice I got from all my doctors. (I had a surgery for a breast issue)
You'd love Radical Skincare! Their SPF is a physical sunscreen that isn't chalky, I use it for a base for my make up because it's matte and works great! (You'd also love their Exfoliating Pads)
Thank you so much for such a great video. So clear, and informative. I had been looking endlessly for one on how to do proper layering with skin care products. Yours was by far the best well articulated... short, and to the point! Truly appreciative... Btw.. I just subscribed:)
Hi mona , I’m such a massive fan of you 💖 I do love your skincare videos but I also really enjoy watching other videos you make related to health and digestive, please do more I’d love to see what you eat in a day morning to evening ! 💖
I have been using a chemical exfoliating scrub for month but it didn't work for me.Your view towards two types of exfoliator really helps me understand what is right for me. I thought each exfoliator works same. And obviously I like how you express yourself.
Better put the sunscreen on top of everything. Make up often contains seemingly harmless ingredients that however change molecular structure under heat. They then become carcinogenic. One of these ingredients existed in my drugstore moisturizer and since Ive had surgery for a breast issue at a young age my products underwent scrutiny.
Noted with thanks! Could you please share if (Elta MD) physical sunscreen can be used on eyes? Most chemical sunscreens can not. And how much sunscreen should one apply to benefit the mentioned SPF? Thanks in advance for your reply.
But when I buy a sunscreen the package doesn't tell if it's physical or chemical .. how can I know to differentiate between them other than finding zinc oxide in the ingredient ??
I really liked your video.. though i knew most of them, i was happy that your tips matched my routine. Didnot know about the cream mask, i will try it if i can get ny hands on it. Your presentation is very pleasant, very soft and soothing. Thank you, please do more such videos.
Mona thank you for this video! Very insightful and knowledgeable!! Great products you demonstrated too. Always awesome content from you. Can't wait for food combining video 3 🙌🏻
in your video you show 2 serums (hyauloronic acid and vitamin C) that you personally use. Can you please mention what brands these are from? You also show 2 exfoliants. what brands are these? Thanks xo 💕💖
The downside to a setting spray with SPF is that there is absolutely no way to be sure how much of the product was actually applied to the face. Plenty of the SPF will be sprayed into the air (along with your money!). If you are truly interested in getting the full benefits of an SPF, do not use spray on products.
love your videos ❤ Been following you on Instagram for like eveeeer and I get so excited every time you upload on TH-cam x Keep it up, your channel will grow so much 😘
Hi Dr. Mona. I have a question that relates to Dry vs. Dehydrated skin and it relates to my hands. They look so dry, wrinkly and crepey. What would you do to bring your hands back to soft and supple life?
I am loving all your videos! I’m a new subbie! So glad I found you! Your tips and videos are so easy to follow and understand. They’re all ver informative! I think I’ve favorited and liked almost every video lol 💕
I think eating anti-aging foods are good to manage the aging issues. These foods provide nutrition to the skin and other organs and maintain the optimum health condition. There are several anti-aging foods that can overcome the aging. I have found an interesting article entitled “9 Foods To Overcome Aging (Ultimate Guide with Ultimate Details) at zovon.
Hi Dr. Mona! I recently subscribed to your channel and love the videos I've seen so far. Question: is it sufficient to wear a foundation or tinted moisturizer with SPF? Or do we need to layer a separate SPF cream as well? Thanks!
Rose AndCore the amount of SPF in makeup isn't significant enough to provide good protection, I would definitely recommend putting a separate SPF on under makeup!
💛 your channel ! I’m curious Dr. Vand , why did you decide to go into pharmacology as opposed to dermatology? Or have you thought about switching careers? It seems you have a real passion for skincare =)
Thanks Dr. Mona! I'd like to try the EXFOLIKATE, thanks for the links! If I use just that product for exfoliation still 3x per week? I was thinking in the shower in the AM or at night. Not sure if you would recommend one or the other. I also use drying acne products (duac AM and differin PM).
Do you have a video about Pharmacy School? I am beginning an accelerated PharmD program and am curious about your personal experience. I just recently discovered you and enjoy watching your content!
Dr Mona what Would you say about Mary Kay skin care? They have serums and eye care products that are not crazy expensive..... thanks for helping me out
Loved the video! Very informative. You give great skin care advice! Can you please do a video on serums and oils. I'd like to add to my skin care routine! Thank you! Subscribed!
My sister doesn't believe in serums, moisturizers, creams etc. she only uses glycerin (99.5%). What should I tell her that will make her change her mind? She says all lotions and creams have glycerine in it and it keeps her skin hydrated (yet oily looking lol). She's still young so I don't want her to make a mistake she'll regret later on. Thank you!!!
Ro Ha Well she right, glycerin is usually the main ingredient in lotion, if she finds it hydrating it enough it should be good. Just tell her to at least use sunscreen in addition. In the future she may have to change her skincare because she might find glycerin is no longer enough to keep her skin looking the best.
New subscriber here! As a product of the 80s we were constantly sunning with baby oil of all things. Besides smoking I was looking into juvaderm for marionette lines what do you think of fillers?
Nancy Napolitano hi Nancy! I’m not against fillers, but i would look into ultrasound / radio frequency, and CO2 laser first. It can really help tighten the area. Even if you still end up wanting filler, you might not need as much. Xx
your way of speaking is just right; not loud, not too relaxed, but sharp. I enjoyed this video, thanks!
Adrian thank you Adrian! So nice of you to say :)
Quick tip: anything with oil (oil based or straight up oil) should be applied LAST. It’s harder for products to penetrate oil, so they should be last to seal everything in :)
Annie Bergquist i like adding oils after serums, but before heavier creams!
i want the benefits of the oil on my skin before moisturiser so i'll stick to that thanks. basic carrier oils are fine for over creams but special ones should go first.

WAter based - gel based - cream based - oil based (oil always come last)
Would love to see a routine for the pregnant ladies! While I enjoy skincare I have had to stop using my normal products because of the chemicals they contain, but I still want to take good care of my skin, especially during this time in my life.

One of these ingredients existed in my drugstore moisturizer and since Ive had surgery for a breast issue at a young age my products underwent scrutiny.

Your videos are very insightful. Want to start a skin care/beauty blog and I learn so much from you
