He told me he used to practice with rubber bands attached to the springs for more resistance & that's how he built up the strength & endurance.

He is not only alternating with his foot technique. Look at this right hand. He moves the stick from "normal grip"-position to a some sort of "between index finger and middle finger"-position every now and then. You can spot it when you pause at 2:23. I have never seen anything like this. weird. Maybe he had a blister or something?

Allegedly, over pay. I don't know the details but, people closer to the situation said he was getting a raw deal. Which is a shame, cuz I know him & his family & he's a GREAT guy.
