    Hello interesting, I have the 6500 for video and A7ii for stills photography, Ii have the 18-105 mm and is a bit sharper on the a7ii, în crop mode but falls apart în low light banding and lots of noise even at iso 400 the images looks alot better at iso 3200 on the 6500 also I tried the same thing with the sigma 1.4 30 mm and was the same results better în good light but much worse în low light.

    The A6500 200% crop of the lens actually shows far superior fine detail - threading on the inner lens around the "1:3,5" mark for example. But also less smudging/soft edges on all hard edges such as the writing and the outer ring of the lens. What you do see is that the A7-III for whatever reason has a higher contrast, which means probably the settings were different. I can't explain why the A7-III has significantly less detail, but that's the way it is. Maybe correct it in your video?

    • @OmaGhomrawi
      @OmaGhomrawi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael DK I understand your point. However, A6500 has 1.5 cropped sensor, thus it crops 150% not 200% my friend.
      Some apsc lenses might have higher contrast and details in the crop areas, cause that’s what are made for.
      Contrast isn’t an issue, could be fixed in post, while sharpness absolutely matters.
      I don’t recommend using apsc lenses on Full Frame. This video is technically to show how apsc lenses perform on full frame body.

    So you're saying APS-C lens on A7Rii vs same APS-C lens on A6300 will be better in terms of picture quality/performance, etc?

    • @OmaGhomrawi
      @OmaGhomrawi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi I don't remember I said that. However, APSC lenses made for APSC cameras in the first place. They are smaller and cheaper. Moreover, they work on full frame cameras with a crop. On the a7r they will give you 24megapixel I believe. In terms of image quality I fount you get good results if the lens is sharp.

    Sorry but APSC on FF is not sensible , I use A7R2 and it reduces to 18MP. Images are so bad that there is no meaning of having ff to shoot such quality. Simply , IMHO don't use APSC on FF if you don't HAVE TO

    • @elpoutre2522
      @elpoutre2522 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agree to disagree. It is sensible.
      Same camera here, some apsc lenses make sense on ff camera like the 70-350 or 11 1.8
      Iq is perfectly fine thus you don’t waste your time zooming 200% and you gain extra portability.
      Beside mine is set on 18mp even in ff mode so all my images make the same size, have a sharper image beacause of negating bayer interpolation and lighten the workflow, but that’ s just me.

    If you remove the rear baffle and front lens hood most primes (not sony ones) will cover pretty much a lot more. Like the Sigma small and cheap 19, 30 and 60mm lenses. From the Sony ones the 10-18 was the only APS-C lens that improves when you remove the rear baffle. It is a very simple and easy to do solution. There are even custom lens profiles to fix the distortion in post.

    I am on the same issues, I have the 16mm + a6500 and just bought a7iii. So, I think I could use the 16mm with the a7iii on crop for video for better ISO quality than used on a6500, because the crapped a7iii on 4k video will acts as 10MP a6500"S" for better light due to using the whole area of crop-size sensor without skipping pixels. The Sony a6500 on 4k only use one half of the sensor-size because it is recording 6k which is 12MP before downscaled to 4k. While the a7iii on crop mode using the same given sensor size of a6500 but with 10MP sensor instead of 24MP for better light, just like using a6500S instead of a6500 or the same affect as 24mm f1.4 on a7iii. for videos ONLY the 16mm is better than 24mm as quality and size

    • @OmaGhomrawi
      @OmaGhomrawi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Kostas, If you're into photography.
      Adapting APSC lenses doesn't exist in other cameras. Sony is the first manufacturer that shares the same mount between full frame and APSC cameras.
      There is no point using APSC lenses on full frame cameras when taking still images.
      On the other hand it seems it works in video mode, by cropping to 1.5x zoom.
      It's about the lenses you use, some lenses have bad image quality which absolutely gonna show on your output.

    • @OmaGhomrawi
      @OmaGhomrawi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you may have good existing APSC lenses and wanna save some money and use them on your full frame camera.
      Let me simplify this more.. APSC Lenses/Cameras produce less Bokeh (blurry background) than Full Frame, and you gonna have a less blurry background when adapting APSC Lenses on FullFrame cameras.
      For instance: Sigma 16mm f1.4 will be 24mm (16 x 1.5), Same Aprature f1.4, But Bokeh look as f2.1 (f1.4 x 1.5)
      x1.5 is the APSC Crop factor
