I hang out there all the time, to fish and kayak. Hank Tindell was my good friend. I spent many hours paddling with him- thanks for cleaning off his stone. PS - I’m glad you saw the eagle ✌️
It is a wonderful spot to spend time. I am very glad I left the shot of Hanks stone for you. It is a small world. Thank you for watching and letting me know about Mr. Tindell
Rivers are certainly fun. In a brand-new composite canoe, that first major scrape in the gel coat is a heartbreaker, but also a relief! My canoe is 20 years old, and I don't worry about it anymore. I was hoping to see the new Chinese hammock bug shelter, but I guess that the flying biters aren't that bad yet. Glad that you guys had a great trip, and, as usual, it was relaxing to watch. I should be back out in the woods in a month or so, once my new knee is broken in.
I am a bit odd in that I can't wait to get that first scratch out of the way, like you said, it comes as a relief. The bugs have not been that bad for me yet this season. I have brought the bug shelter on 3 trips so far. Never felt the need to set it up......not yet anyway.
Nice video, rally beautiful body of water.I’m a new member ,3 days in,but,I’ve watched around 12 of your videos! Recovering from open heart surgery, these videos put me in a better frame of mind, thanks🇨🇦👍
Another excellent adventure. Lemon iced tea and whiskey is an excellent drink. Been drinking that since college. Never thought of adding Lemon seltzer to it. Really nice hammock system.
Homie, I am impressed, you are putting that Phoenix through its paces - no poser canoe there. Awesome to see! My Northwind Solo has not seen that level of whitewater. Thanks for sharing.
Never did white water in a solo canoe just 2 person canoes. Ball mountain reservoir in VT did a release on Mother’s Day I did several years and it was class 2 and 3 (the section we did) and it was a total rush. I still get a nervous stomach when I think about one of the big class 3 sections, you came around a corner and were right in it. Not for me anymore but will never forget it! Respect the river, practice and learn. Enjoy the adrenaline rush and be safe
"Respect the river, practice and learn"......I like that! Wise words. This was a ton of fun for me and I can't wait to learn more. That said, I know I know nothing about it, and realized quickly that I am scared to death of destroying that Phoenix....I have a trick up my sleeve.......more on that later! Sounds like you have had some wild times on the river! Thanks for sharing
only 6......those are rookie numbers lol! Just kidding! 6 is a good collection. This is the BRS 5 star burner.......and it is awesome!! I love it. On trips that I don't have to worry about weight , but don't want to bring a huge camp cookstove, this is the stove. I have really come to appreciate this stove. You can crank it up to rocket status, bring it way down to a simmer and everything in between. Once those burners start glowing red like they do, it would take a hurricane to blow them out. Great stove. And affordable.
@@ItsGoodintheWoods well if I counted ALL my big Colemans prolly have at least 10 in all! And my Trangia, and wood burner I made from an old asparagus steamer! Wore out my Pocket rocket a couple years ago. And even have a couple butane jobs that I keep in my van and permanent camp. And of course my Blackstone that also rides in my van. So, in reality I prolly have 12 or 13! Will look into that BRS too!
That is a great question! I started my water sports adventuring with a kayak. Used one for 2 years. Packing and unpacking a kayak with gear sucks. That got me to thinking about canoes. Specifically solo canoes. Bought my first one and it was all over from there. I much prefer canoes now. Mildly obsessed lol
Next time your in the area try The Prohibition Pig for their hand cut fries cooked in duck fat or the The Reservoir for awesome burgers and PBR’s . Theses two places where my “go to “ after section hiking The Long Trail . ☮️
Just got to remember what you used to do when we were rock gods. Oh wait I can't remember what I used to do then, so now I just stay awake all night trying to remember. 😁 🥃🥃
Who's the man? YOU"RE the man! Great little trip, and great video. Nothing beats a little white water in a canoe. Thanks Brother! Joe
Thank you Joe! This was so much fun. I am addicted to the moving water! I can't wait to do and learn more.
Dress like you're gonna get wet and be on your knees. Fun as hell!
Hello "It's Good in the Woods"! Thank you for showing us such a great video! I feel very happy! I look forward to your next work! Have a nice day!

Hey Justin, was the rationale behind canoe over kayak? More room for gear? More of a challenge? Different posture?

Absolutely awesome information! Thank you for the suggestions
Was that the jet boil minimo French press kit you used with the toaks pot?
Great video as per, loved the white water sections.
Happy paddling 🛶
It is. Works with any cup/pot that has a 3 3/4" diameter
@@ItsGoodintheWoods I’m going to give that a try.
Many thanks
Omg are you for real Justin! I live on the Waterbury reservoir! We need to hook up! Cheers!
Wow dude! What a spot to live. I didn't see many houses on it that's for sure.
