Thanks for checking out the video. I do like the 1/35 scale for armor. It's a good mid or sweet spot. 1/72 and 1/48 is a bit small and 1/16 too expensive.
I am glad you made this video. I was going to make mine Front wheel Drive. I have the instructions for the motorized version, and I thought it was front drive, but while watching this I found the instructions again and it was rear drive after all. I am glad I did not start cutting yet.
Just get Tamiya kit number 30055 "German Panther Ausf.G Early with Single Motor". They have revitalized the motorized tank kits and this one has proper front sprocket drive with one motor. Adding a second motor/gearbox right beside the other one will allow you independent track control and an avenue for R/C conversion.
@@Hjerte_Verke thanks for checking out the video. Tamiya has reissued the Panther and Sherman with the redesigned single motor but I wanted to retrofit my past build. It's more cost effective and I enjoy putting in the time for the result.🙂
I still have yet to build an Tamiya kit, but for $20 that tank is certainly a bargain. While it does not have the full Tamiya detail treatment it is still full of some very nice features and they stuff they do include is all nicely molded. Hope the 'motorization' works out.
Another great project! I’m sure it will be awesome. I’m surprised you haven’t got a few dozen slot cars in your closet- or perhaps you’ve been saving them for later. 😉
Hello I have made a few of the tamiya single motor models into RC tanks and I really want to make a stug into RC but have only found the model kit so I am interested in this as it might help with that project And do you use the original tracks I have found that they do not connect very well and I am worried that they will come apart with use
Hi Corey, I do try to use as much of the box stock parts to keep cost down. I do use the rubber band tracks since I use heat to melt the pins to connect the tracks. You can always purchase aftermarket metal tracks. Watch my RC Jagdtiger conversion if that's the route you want to go. You will need to install the twin motor if you want the tank to have turning capabilities.🙂
@@davidchin350 hello not sure what happened to my reply I have used the tamiya twin motor gearboxes to make them RC and can get the RC electronics for them from China and I might look at the metal tracks or do you know any other alternatives for the track
@@coreyrich2567 yep, I got my rc electronics from Amazon which was from China as well. I research the kits on scalemates before purchasing to ensure the wheels spin freely and that rubber band tracks are included. I've never ordered the metal multi link tracks but it sounds like a viable solution for more realism. Enjoy your build.
Nice job on the tank, looks good with just the right amount of detail, thanks for sharing an older build!
Thanks Jay, I might refresh /touch up the details a bit. Hopefully the motor installation will work out 👍
Thanks for sharing this great tank. That is really good for the money. Interesting learning about the different motor and gear boxes🪖🐭👍
Thanks, hope to have this up and running real soon.👍
Interesting conversion, thanks for sharing your thought process, it clarifies the final so much. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ed, should be finished real soon.🙂
Very neat project David! Looking forward to seeing this tank ROLL!
Yes, thanks John👍hopefully I'll get it motorized real soon.
A nice project to motorized. With this the Panther will be much cooler. Wish you a successful work with this, David.
Greetings, Joachim
Thanks Joachim, hope everything works out once the motor is installed.😊
hi David.....this should be a fun project... looking forward to the build.. thx 4 sharing... vinny
Thanks Vinny, just waiting on parts.🙂
Lot's of good information, David. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Grady, hopefully I will get this motorized very soon.
Really nice retrofit David, great looking tank!
Thanks Jeff, just waiting on parts and hope to get this running real soon.
Nice video David. I have been wanting to get into 1/35 vehicles and this gives me an idea of the scale, which is not bad.

Can't go wrong with a Panther. Looks good, bro.
@@TI4438 thanks, it's a great tank kit for the money.
@@davidchin350 my wife built this one a while ago. Great for beginners.
cool tank, will look awesome running 😀👍👍
Thanks Buddy, hope to finish soon.
Looking good David
Thanks Tom, awaiting parts and accessories before I can continue.

Thanks Kurt, let the motorizing begin. I stalled and had to wait for a new motor with longer hex drive shaft.😟

Thanks Mark, I just have one slot car set. I missed the AFX G-plus and TYCO 440 period since I was more into plastic scale models.🙂
Great !
Thanks Buddy.👍
