I grew up watching Initial D and later Wangan Midnight, played video games that have the Nissan Skyline GT-R so yeah the R34 GT-R is like my go-to car choice. Both cars are definitely every JDM fans' dream cars to own, as for the GT-R I wish Nissan could reproduce small quantities of Skyline GT-R as complete car with original specs or a modern retrofit with new upgrades as prices of R32, R33 and R34 GT-R makes it harder to obtain unless you have deep pockets. If I were to go back in time and order a Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R from a dealership, definitely a R34 GT-R V-Spec 2 with either TV2 Bayside Blue or custom order with EV1 Yellow paint (EV1 Yellow only available on GT-R base model series 1 and V-Spec 1).
Even if you went back in time, you must realize that a brand new R34 GTR BASE model from the factory was still a $70,000 dollar car brand new in today's money. You want a V-spec 2? almost $85,000. The cheapest one would have been the R32 GTR - which a base model in 1990 would have still been $45,000 car. The well-off were always the ones who purchased these cars. And they are also the only ones who can afford to keep them on the road. The kids in Japan who bought the very used $15,000 R32 GTRs back in the late 2000s fell into money traps and gave up when they admitted they were too expensive to do maintenance and repairs. let alone modify. This guy in the video isn't admitting it, but the Supra is also a premium to keep on the road, large brakes, one-off suspension components. and interior pieces like the dash is over $1000 by itself.
Really good points on what makes them different. I've told people for a long time that they aren't really direct competitors. The GTR is an AWD, more expansive, homologation car based on a regular sedan. The Supra is a RWD, GT sports car. I actually think the 300XZ is more comparable to the MKIV Supra. If I was given the choice between taking one of these cars home to work on it, I wouldn't know any other way to choose other than driving. These cars are legends in the JDM community and live on to stay the same, and I'd love to own either.
Getting any of these two JDM legends is childhood. It's F&F, which is the reason why most of us car enthusiasts go for them. I'd love an R34 one day, but I also wouldn't mind an R32. I'd look for an R34 or R32 before I ever go looking for an R35!!!!

Andrew Lopez They just made a new nsx. I'm looking at the back of a white one from my back porch. My neighbor bought one for his exotic car rental company. Apparently they drive very well.
I was hoping you'd say the NSX was the better car as you're such a fan of Honda hahaha Even best motoring considered it the best car from 1995, obviously there wasn't a R34 at that the time and the NSX is quite a different car from both the Supra and Skyline but it certainly excels on the track
2 legends, way ahead of their time. Bmw needed 15 years to build an I-6 comparable to that old 2JZ 🤣.....and the other german brands needed over 20 years to use Rear wheel steering as well.
No. It did not happen that way. 15 years? And that's not even close to the end goal of what they were going for. Why would Toyota have gone to them for this project if the goal was to build a tuner with a 2jz. U should read the articles on this and what it's all about.

If I was given the choice between taking one of these cars home to work on it, I wouldn't know any other way to choose other than driving. These cars are legends in the JDM community and live on to stay the same, and I'd love to own either.
Supra all day long I've wanted one for many years...will my day come!
You really cant go wrong with either one!! Both jdm legends. Also anyone thas lucky enought to own both should b one lucky person
Bir adet kandıralı 34 görüyorum. 😍
It's like comparing your two kids, they are different then each other in many ways but you still love them both☺️❤️
Yes, a nsx (the one with the pop up headlights) review would be awesome!!!
👌 Great content as usual!
I'm more of a silverado guy but the r34 will always have a special spot in my heart
I will never choose between these two beautiful japanese machines.
Its always Skyline vs Supra but the best result is seeing both cars sitting next to each other. What an awesome pair of JDM cars. There's no looser.
All I need is a big single turbo with a full on TRD wide body supra
Shervin Cornibert I’m building exactly what you said subscribe for updates
Getting any of these two JDM legends is childhood. It's F&F, which is the reason why most of us car enthusiasts go for them. I'd love an R34 one day, but I also wouldn't mind an R32. I'd look for an R34 or R32 before I ever go looking for an R35!!!!
How about a comparison including a later model Mitsubishi GTO VR4? Has a few similarities being 6 cylinders, 3 litres, twin turbo and AWD
'timeless'....best word to describe why these two are legends; even if future versions were to out perform them...
im a gtr r34 guy...
That's one of my favorite best motoring clips ✌✌
I just love the R34 since seeing Mine's R34 it sounds great the rpm response is crazy its agile as well
You should get more subs.
This channel is awesome 🔥
I want to get both, I love the r32 and r34. And I like both. I can only afford an r32 I do want “all stock” on the gtr skyline 32. I like the 6 transmission on the r34.i do like the Supra I admire the engineering growing up I like the NSX a lot. I drove one in 1996, dam it handles are so perfect.
"I'm just gonna go with the NSX" hahaha you got me with that one 😆
Beautiful cars
Keep more vids coming...
Can't wait till this r34 is legal in the states...definitely gonna get one!
Yerımizi Alalım Japonic
Along with the NSX & RX7, I consider these cars to be the greatest of the great 90's JDM cars and I doubt I could form a solid opinion of which one is best.
you really have depth understanding of what youre talking, therefore i subscribe this channel. hope your channel get more viewer, good knowledge channel
Thank you very much JDM Masters for another Great Video!!!
The skyline is sick! Love it!
I’ve got a RB30/26 in my Skyline R33 GTR Vspec...but dream build would be R34 25gt four TB48 5.4 stroker and twin turbo with sequential paddle shifting transmission.
GT-R for me, it has rear seats... Supra doesn’t (for anyone with legs)
@kudos 0000 Sorry you're sad because I like a different car to you
@kudos 0000 Unfortunately my toddlers can't drive yet, so getting cars for them isn't an option. Perhaps I misread your initial comment as snarkier than you intended, sorry about that.
One of the very best car channels on youtube.
Best comparison on TH-cam amazing
I just can’t simply choose between these 2 legends, they’re both # 1 in my eyes and I would like to have both or at least one of them.
I am a guy who switched my love from 2jz to RB26!
Why not rb26dett?
this is a high quality review and comparison of this two legends i can listen to him talking about this cars till they find a treatment of the covid 19
Ahh now This is what i call *THE BATTLE OF GODS*
This guy is the best. He knows a lot and explains the details fast. This guy is the best.
We need more Honda’s, maybe a modded NSX or something like that
Andrew Lopez They just made a new nsx. I'm looking at the back of a white one from my back porch. My neighbor bought one for his exotic car rental company. Apparently they drive very well.
awesome way of explaining things. so people can get a different perspective on both vehicles without being biased.
The two biggest jdm icons! 600 hp is definitely not enough!!! jk. Thanks for another great in-depth video can't wait for the next one!
JDM Master indeed👏
But i chose the R34 because of it's racing pedigree and also the best technology in the late 90's.
He reminds me of engineering explained
I was hoping you'd say the NSX was the better car as you're such a fan of Honda hahaha
Even best motoring considered it the best car from 1995, obviously there wasn't a R34 at that the time and the NSX is quite a different car from both the Supra and Skyline but it certainly excels on the track
I agree on his NSX statement.
Nsx for the record.
supra has always been my favorite car, i know it's not quite as good as a skyline, but i don't care, i will always love the mkiv supra
Why would Toyota have gone to them for this project if the goal was to build a tuner with a
2jz. U should read the articles on this and what it's all about.
You make me like your video and subscribe just by your knowledge. I do not see this happening often mate! Happy to be your subscriber. Cheers!
Daayuumm,what an intro....okay,im subscribe...
12:22: For 'murica, 250kph ~ 155mph
13:00: 10 million yen ~ 90k usd
The most amazing thing about this video to me is that you can have two cars like that and spend the majority of the time just standing in front of them and talking o.0
That R34 tho. Just something about it. 😍
