- Hello, pioneers! Welcome to "Satisfactory Design Solutions!" The show where we try new techniques to build better factories in Satisfactory!
In today's episode I'm going to explore a concept of lifting our production machines up off the ground, to make movement, belting, and laying out our factories even simpler. And it looks great, too!
The intro/outro music was made for me by Moonic Productions! Check him out here on youtube:

At first I thought you were just over complicating things for no reason but seeing how easy it makes it to run around a factory without running into everything and getting caught on machines. Off to make my own version of the more compact one you showed at the end.
Good luck! Let me know if you come up with an easier workflow. I plan to utilize this a lot more in my SF 1.0 playthrough next week.
i like this concept very much, even more than a separated logistics floor, you can see what is going on and still have a nice and clean looking, walkable factory
I had this idea, made this video, then never implemented it in a factory. Once I unlocked steel in my next playthrough when 1.0 drops, I plan to utilize it heavily.
Love the random drum circle at 11:22.
We've been watching the tv show Fargo and they use a lot of drum line music to highlight parts of it. I decided to steal that idea and use as much drum line as I can.
We have in Germany a factory, which I visited last year, which is build in a similar way. You have machine stacked above eachother on a steel frame and you have different inputs and outputs integrated.
Sounds really awesome! What's the name of the factory? I'd love to see an image or video about it. Maybe I'll replicate it in a future episode.
Revisiting this after the 1.0 release, love this idea for mid tier factories right when blueprints become available and before the production chains become as complicated as the late game.
I'm excited for it, too. I've been waiting for 1.0 to start building factories like this.
Very interesting idea. Don't have the patience for this kind of decoration, but I love watching others make things like this.
That's the thing! It only took a few minutes and now it's as easy placing a blueprint. Thanks for commenting!
Okay, your exit song is legendary
Thanks so much! Otu over at Moonic Productions sang it for me, inspired by one of his covers.
I like this, Id even try to improve on it by using pillar feet relocating the ladder and using catwalks. Seems like the perfect opportunity to use catwalks to be honest.
Great suggestions! If you build upon this, be sure to send me some images, please!
Hmmm, I am beginning to understand why my factories look so cramped. If I see space like that, my go to response is: "yeah I can easily fit 12 assemblers in there!!" 😀 Thanks for doing this series. Although I do not have the patience to decorate, it's nice to get some inspiration to maybe some day make an effort 🙂
Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much! I don't have the patience usually...hoping by spending some time (and a whole video) about it, I can grow my collection of blueprints to make factory building easier.
Love this so much. Very much inspires me to use the blueprint designer more for decoration and not just to cram in as much as possible😅😅😅😅
Thank you! I made this ages ago and still haven't implemented it into my builds yet. I plan to do so when 1.0 drops in a couple weeks.
This is a great idea, especially since there is so much room to build vertical. I could see myself starting with this just to make bad planning easier to recover from and automatically building some of my skills along the way (vertical supports, cleaner belts, blueprints..).
Exactly! I love having the machines off the floor for easier walking around. And you can still easily see all the belts and machine. If I were to design a factory I'd definitely walk around on the base like I did in this video, but then have catwalks above the machines so you could look down and see all the items on the belts.
I like this kind of content. Casual yet still focused and without unnecessary goofiness.
+ 1sub
(it's creative and funny, but I'm not sure I could binge an entire video series with that outro^^)
Thanks for the kind comment! And fair warning, after I commissioned the outro, I use it every video. Maybe you'll have to tune out early. Or perhaps I'll use it less frequently. Maybe only in my Let's Play series'.
never tought to build like this..........looks cool tough
Thanks, Lucky!
Black box is genius.
Squirrel!
I think it actually helped! I felt more focused.
Man you are a genius, never thought and seen such a way to build, THANKS A LOT FOR SHARING because I was struggling a lot building vertically with other methods 😅🙏 I will experiment with it a maybe share with you somehow what I came with! (I have right now a kinda messy vertical setup for my Heavy modular frames and I want to delete it entirely and rebuild it with the method you show here!)😄💪🏻
I'd love to see what you come up with. I have a community discord you can join to share images (links in my video descriptions). Or post on reddit or in the official Satisfactory discord and tag me. I'm BEDplaysGAMES across the internet.
@@BEDplaysGAMES thanks bro, I will, let's spread the word together 💪🏻😄
What up Vlad!
very nice design! if you wanted to you could even do the same thing by including a logistics floor, rather than stilts with the same effect.
Very true, but I find this to be easier! I wanted to get this video released now, because I want to redo a lot of my SF+ factories using this sort of idea. Using logistics floors in SF+ has sorta bitten me, as trying to expand the current megabase has me running into logistics floors that are offset and hard to deal with.
Hmmm... I like this ! It's like having an embedded bus ! (and the compact version is my fav, I don't mind curve if there is some symmetry to it ! :D)
I can see a future of all sorts of different towers. Mergers, splitters, bus management. My mind is all over the place with the possibilities.
1.96K subs - well more than me :) Very impressive video and good demo on blue prints. Never used them but still learning how to play this game as it's extremely time-consuming.
It sure is! It's pretty much all I think about all day everyday. And I've been playing for many years.
I do something similar, except for supports, I use sub-floors. I build my machines on a floor, and then have a 1, 2, or 3 level sub-floor.
This is what I did before I came up with this idea. Perhaps I just didn't organize the logistics floors to flow as simply as this...but I didn't love it. Maybe I'll try putting some more effort into sub-floors to see what I get. Thanks!
Almost midnight but first it's bed time!
Pun intended
Pun loved!
Thank you.
Thank YOU! I love releasing videos.
You're genius, man
Thank you! I've never implemented this into a factory yet, but I'm just ABOUT to. Needed steel in my 1.0 playthrough to get it done and I've just got it.
For Manifold it's great :)
My brain is like Nah, where's the challenge. Load Balancer or nothing :)
I've been considering doing more load balancers. I really like seeing the materials constantly moving on a slower belt. It's much more visually interesting that nearly stand-still manifolds.
Nice, That makes doing vertical build easier than just spamming a floor with machiens
Thank you! I think so, too. I can't wait to get back to building and build whole factories using this concept.
I've been waiting to really play this game when 1.0 comes out but I really REALLY want to mess with this idea now. =^.^= Good job!
Thanks for the kind words! I'm torn about 1.0 and updates. I love each and every new update with all the fun new QoL features. It'll be nice to get a story, though. Join us! Join us. Join us....join...us...
Great idea. I think it is too high but the extra space to avoid future spaghetti would be very useful. Thanks for sharing.
And thanks for commenting! You can certainly make it as high or low as you’d like. I’m going to explore this concept more on the future but I’ve been hearing from others testing it out. This height lets trains and trucks underneath which I think is pretty neat.
Really like this design. Especially refreshing to see someone (besides me 😅) show a curved belt which still looks good and isn't spaghetti! Hopefully more to come?
Definitely! By more to come do you mean the elevated machines? I'm going to stick with it. As I plan for my post SF+ content I'm thinking to work hard on all these Satisfactory Design Solutions videos and then do a vanilla SF playthrough using all the blueprints I design for the show, so we can start putting them into practice directly. I also want to use a lot of the concepts moving forward in SF+, but I might just stick to Nexus for that.
@@BEDplaysGAMES more elevated machinery - which also doesn't shy away from perfectly cromulent curved belts. 👍
Dude thats great stuff. New sub!
Awesome! Thanks for the comment and the sub!
I wonder if people know you can use splitters on lift ends :)
Maybe not as useful I expect it to be, but neat thing to discover. Maybe isn't used cause can't chain them much, hoped to do merger straight line.
I remember back a few udpates ago you could snap the splitters to the ends but they didn't actually split. It was a pleasant surprise that you could functionally do it now...I have no idea which update that feature came with.
Ok, the build: Cool
Your naration: Nice
That Outro: Take my sub and leave! xD
I love it, too! I commissioned it from Otu over at Moonic Productions! The dude rucks hard.
This design is fanct af, well done!
upd: the outro 💀
Thanks! Is the skull for the outro good or bad? lol Otu over at Moonic Productions killed it, I think.
@@BEDplaysGAMES Kinda both, ahhaha
That's a good idea!
Thank you! Once I get steel production done in my 1.0 playthrough I'm going to take this idea and RUN with it, build all my factories like this.
I did this with a cat walk and power on the inside and 4m shorter. Awesome.
I'd love to see what you did if you can share it with me! Twitter/X, email, discord, links in a reply to comments all work. Thanks!
I wanna see a whole factory built like this
That's my plan for when SF 1.0 releases. I'll surely want to restart and do a full play, so I want to build in this style from the start.
Can you make modules that stack vertically?
Yes! I haven't done that yet, but I know someone that took this idea and ran with it. I believe you'd need to add foundations selectively to point at to place the blueprint before deleting them. But locking the hologram and nudging would help a lot.
Weird that you still have one in the floor space that one would take up. Should be able to fit at least one more in to make this efficient.
Efficiency first, I see! You can't make the machines any smaller, sadly. Oh man, you just inspired me to think about a second blueprint on stilts that attaches to the TOP of this one, so you can have all the machines off the floor but then stack them as high as you want.
nice idea 👍
Thank you!
I thought the trick was to take up as much acerage as possible. 🙂
There's a few different tricks, that's definitely one of them.
@@BEDplaysGAMES I am razzing you a bit. I do need to concentrate on consolidating my stuff and building up.
You should share blueprint file for it I like it.
You got it!

So you say a friend suggested this to you? Interesting.
Hey, I have friends!
How do you fly and stay suspended in the air? Is that a mod or is it possible to fly like that with the jetpack in vanilla?
It’s new in update 8, vanilla. It’s called Advanced Game Settings and you can turn on all kinds of cheats. God mode, fly, free build, no power requirements. I use those for these videos to make it easy for me.
@@BEDplaysGAMES ahh bet. Thanks a lot! And for the quick response :) The game told us not to activate those settings... So we didn't 😅
@@franzical3706 Yeah! You can't turn them off once you turn them on, so during a regular playthrough you might spoil yourself. I never use them in my Let's Play or playing for fun.
Algorithm comment ;)
Also, having these artificial stilts is just not the same as having the normal stilts... But there is really no good version to get those (yet)...
I agree! I fell in love doing the steam and CO2 chimneys when I had 4m stilts. Still chasing that high (to go higher).
🥰
Thanks!
Ok, you got my subscription with the content… but that obnoxious singing at the end has me second guessing myself.
Thanks! Yeah, it's sorta my theme song and a mainstay. It's not for everyone, you might just need to nope out before the end of the videos! I appreciate the feedback!
yo seing it at like 1 in the night but yeah
Bed before Bed (time).
u know it well@@BEDplaysGAMES
how to build an ugly factory 101
good work with BPs though
"That's just like...your opinion...man."
You think so? I think this will make gorgeous, neat, and excellent factories. I'm tired of the same meta with lines of machines with lines of input and output splitters and mergers. But to each their own!
Thanks for commenting!
and I thought I can't go any more vertical...
Thanks for all the comments! I'm still in love with this idea and I plan to use it...everywhere, once 1.0 launches and I start a new vanilla playthrough.
Subscribed, but...by the gods get a better singer, not me, i'm worse.
Blasphemy! It's not for everyone, that's for sure, but Otu over at Moonic Productions did an amazing job singing this for me.
Yea it's fine, goofy, it's all good, great job. @@BEDplaysGAMES
Sounds pretty good for an acapella without any autotune and fancy effects used nowadays to sound perfect, and it's original, like that
Stolen
Whoops. Wrong video. Damn “next up” feature
Stole my heart!
This is an awesome way to build! Thank you for showing us how to do this! I like the curved belts, makes it not look so straight lined! Keep up the amazing videos!
Thank you so much! I have so many ideas for how to embrace this build style.
@@BEDplaysGAMES I look forward to watching them!
Clean bro!
Hell yeah! I had that idea, made that video, and have NOT forgotten about that style. Once 1.0 drops I plan to design my entire playthrough around this new meta of elevated building.
