Yes, this could be a good topic. I made a little drawing on it. You can find it on my twitter. It's not a full explanation but it shows some basic concepts.
Excellent video. Explains clearly what FT and NFT are, and points at applications and marketplace. About the voice, no particular remark except that it is special and could be an NFT by itself with great value !
I get why people would buy items for video games and digital land space that can be used to earn via advertising. But why would someone buy a simple digital image/art that can be just copied/multiplied easily? it sounds like an item that can be made fungible.
Tokenization of tangible goods that can be leveraged or loaned against. Sports cars, houses, boats, time shares while not in use, reservations on cruise, etc, etc....
I somehow get it and don’t at the same time. So it’s basically a deed/Cert. of Authenticity on a blockchain? Like smart contracts? I don’t get how that works with art as an example, if the arts digital, anyone can just like screenshot it in which case why does matter if you have an original? If it’s a physical piece of art, isn’t HAVING the physical art proof that you have the art?
In the same sense you could take a picture of and print out a piece of art but it's not the "real" thing, though with this the distinction is obviously even more vague to our monkey brain. Maybe the easiest to understand comparison is when an artists releases a print. A print is nothing more than a high quality print out if a piece of art. Often they are limited edition and only a few hundred or less are made. Now these images are available online and anyone who wanted to could conceivably download and print the same print for far less than the artist is selling it for. Though it would never be worth as much as the authentic one from the artist. This is just that idea but digitilized.
Also, know that when you have the ownership right of a digital asset, you're are entitled to royalties whenever it is used commercially just as physical assets.
@@kwamsahortor basically, yeah, that’s what I’m saying, and I know that sounds wrong that’s why I feel like something isn’t clicking. NFTs are basically the .Com bubble happening again, people use to put a lot if money based on the idea even if it is not making any revenue now people are getting excited about NFTs while it make no sense paying such money for a digital art that can be copied, the Mona liza has a value because it is physically protected an can not be copied, you can go and paint new one or take a picture but it would never be the same, but it is not the case with digital art, digital art is digital means it is Fundamentally copiable, you could argue and say “if I buy an NFT I am the true owner” so how about buying copyrights for digital art? This thing always existed before but the issue with digital art it is being digital and not physical so I expect this craze to fade away and go back down very soon, however the technology is cool and it seems useful in many other way

@@zacsstevens Most art is valued because it is a historical artifact more than anything else (of course there are exceptions). Also, your original copy argument still doesn't hold up in reality. An NFT of the nyan cat meme sold for $590,000 and it wasnt even the original nyan cat. How does having the "real" nyan cat have any value when itself is a copy of the actual original meme.
