So fucking good. It legit send a shock through my body when I first saw it.
@@Chun-believable It was so good that I’ve never seen Mamma Mia and it still left me staring in amazement-it was so very clearly a reference to something Meryl had done as a character at some point, being both extremely naturalistic and yet still a little bit amplified (but not unrealistically so!), and she did it so flawlessly that I couldn’t tell if she was actually quoting an old line or actually applying the style from the old scene to new dialogue written specifically for the Rusical (I’m guessing now that it was the second option?) AND she shifted into and out of the “role” or moment it was calling back to so quickly and smoothly, making it clear that it was meant to read as Meryl sort of sending up her own previous moment as a throwaway-so it was Janey Jacke, “as Meryl Streep”, AS MERYL STREEP AGAIN just for a single line, and then back to Janey Jacke BUT STILL “as Meryl Streep” the dancing/acting/stage show hybrid Janey brought to life.
I didn’t really think all that at the time… It was just, “Oh, that’s not “Meryl Streep”, that is MERYL FUCKING STREEP. and she just won”. I really wanted Janey to do well in this series because she was such an amazingly beautiful ice peach in her season of Holland, like a Dutch Raven but even less actually “dark and bitter” like Tati would say-perfection on top of a real-ass bitch. But she came to this like, moments after finishing the filming of her season, and she’s already just doing things that we didn’t even know she was skilled at and KILLING them. If this comment jinxes her I’m gonna cry but no matter what, like Jimbo, she’s already cemented herself as a global drag superstar of the highest caliber, and I could not be more proud.
Also it’s just very funny because the first impression she gives is absolutely “ugh that PRETTY BITCH” but she’s so, so much more than pretty although she is insanely pretty and she’s genuinely not at all a bitch she just doesn’t move her face usually 😂
The fact that she looks just like Meryl Streep in Mamma Mia and also picked up the subtle mannerisms like putting her hands in her pockets was so impeccable, she deserved her top 2 placement.
I got mad respect for Janey and this performance. It’s very much a Princess Diana type verse where there isn’t any deliberate punch lines but she managed to capture the snooty, “over achiever” character perfectly!

Its the little nuances and gestures makes a performance great. She looked like she ate the whole choreo and just chew it like it was nothing. So natural!
This is by far the most iconic rusical performance. It wasn't over acted, it was a thought about character and the track wasn't cheesy. Whoever wrote this rusical needs to write for the other rusicals

As soon as she turned around I gasped. She looked just like Meryl and the physicality was just so on point. Well deserved win.

What made this so satisfying was that she took the note of doing more acting than just straight choreography...and she just KILLED IT. I couldn't stop smiling it was SO good.
She really made it feel so effortless and natural. Extremely impressive

This performance totally changed my perception of Janey Jacke'. This is not an easy impersonation, and she perfectly embodied Meryl Streep's humble, charming smugness.
But she actually is humble.

That's what makes Janey's performance so darn good I think, she captured the quiet but undeniable power and charisma that Meryl has and amped it all up just a little to read on stage with choreography and music--in such a way that it also accurately paid homage to the way Meryl herself sometimes camps things up in certain larger-than-life roles while still always retaining that authentic down-to-earthness. Janey is eeeeeverything

Can we remember that English isn't her first language and she was able to perform this so well as well as include little nuances into it so seamlessly?
You realise that she is lip syncing and speaking fluent english in the netherlands is completely normal.
@@derohneleben8205 lived in the Netherlands for three years not that many people are as fluent as Janey plus it still is a disadvantage if most of the other girls are native
@@sofiaespinoza3245 I've been living in the Netherlands for 30 years and I'm not sure where you've lived where people aren't that fluent. It's a mandatory course in Dutch middle school. Hell, pre-covid, many universities decided to use English as their main language opposed to Dutch. We're at a point where there's a pretty decent chance you can walk in a restaurant in a major city and be served in English.
English is most people's second language here. My nephew speaks english too and he's 8 😅
@@dutchguy1363 I see what everyone is saying, but I think they mean it's still her second language - the disadvantage may be super minimal, but compared to queens whose first language is English there may be a slight difference when it comes to little nuances, slang, etc. Anyway, she ATE regardless lol

@@TheLoonu😂 Picturing literally everyone else trying to do this part in a way that's so effortlessly engaging is making me laugh--Janey is doing a lot of things at the same time and making it all look easy, which is the exact opposite of the overacting the other queens (and usual roles) expect and are good at
