The Miss Saigon: 25th Anniversary Performance is a filmed production of the musical Miss Saigon for its 25th anniversary, performed live at London's Prince Edward Theatre, in London's West End on September 22, 2014.
It includes the 2-hour 20-minute production and a 30-minute "25th Anniversary Gala" featuring members the original West End cast, Jonathan Pryce, Lea Salonga and Simon Bowman performing with the current West End cast.

Trivia: Rachelle Ann Go was a shoo-in for the role of Kim when she auditioned in Manila except that she was already 26. MSO called her back in after a few months to try her out for Gigi and Gigi she did with flying colors.
Tons of Kims have been older than 26, including Lea who last played the role in 2000 when she was 29. There have been professional productions with Kims in their 30s as well so it’s highly unlikely age was the reason they didn’t cast Rachelle. They likely just decided on Eva after seeing her Jimmy Awards performance and thought Rachelle would work better as Gigi.
Rachelle's performance is fantastic! She has evolved. Her emotions & her diction, enuncuation, expression, acting & vocal attack are all perfect. This is a result of her natural talent honed by experience & refined by the best voice & acting coaches on the West End. What an awesome & life altering experience for a Filipina talent.

@@maximilianc9897 Isay was great as Gigi but Rachelle is untouchable. Isay couldn't sing the way Rachelle sings. Rachelle used her full voice here which Isay wasn't able to do in her younger years as Gigi.

Gigi is actually a very complicated role because she is literally the support that would make Kim shine.
In this one song, she has to gather all the attention of the audience as her rightful claim to being crowned "Ms. Saigon" and then dim her presence as Kim enters as if Kim is just naturally the star and not because of Gigi's assist of throwing the audience's attention to her.

I did theater workshop 15 years ago and as far as i can remember we were encouraged to slightly exaggerate opening our mouths, arm work or acting/singing in general for the audience at the back to see. I hope you get my point😅

she really needs to improve on her pronounciation, some of the words werent clear - or maybe im just so used to Lea's version - but overall Rachelle's performance was solid and deserves the world stage.

Rachelle wouldn’t have been handpicked for Miss Saigon if her voice and techniques hadn’t impressed the producers and the brilliant minds behind the show. She has won numerous awards for her portrayal of Gigi. Compared to her achievements in TV and theatre, both of you are nobodies.

Unfortunately, Rachelle Ann Go is better left heard than seen. Her performance here can’t hold a candle to the original performer in 1989, Isay Alvarez, who has better vibrato in the interpretation of the song “The Movie In My Mind”, JMHO.
