- The thirst zapper when you first encounter it is used merely for one phosphite and it acts more as a gimmick rather than an actual way to defend yourself. However what if you could turn it into a weapon of mass destruction, away to actually fight back against the denizens of the Commonwealth looking to put you in the ground. well that’s what we will be finding out today, can you beat fallout 4 with only the thirst zapper? now for the rules first and foremost obviously we can only use the third Sapper in the run. This video will only cover the main campaign of fallout 4 as the second rule of the run is for no glitches or exploits and without those, you can’t beat Nuka World within the confines of the challenge. But with that out of the way, let’s get into the run.

Already did it and yes , it was very expensive(ammo) and yes , using the vanilla minigun made me want to die, but it was very fun and funny
Only heal with food, only use unarmed, shotguns, and minigun.

Also I'm assuming you just wanted to test out the Thirst Zapper against the Courser in Greentech? Because that's another boss fight that you can skip entirely.
Yes I was testing the damage of the weapon, I usually do the skip for the courser when I work with the minutemen

Yep. So damn near doubled that it's actually 1 more than tripled. (Sorry, couldn't resist. I think that I took the Math Wrath perk in real life.)
Good job on the run. I always loved the concept of this weapon because of how funny it is. The reload time and insane cost of making ammo made it so impractical though. Kudos for sticking to it and actually succeeding at the challenge.
haha as I was editing the video, I saw this very thing XD No one to my knowledge had used the gun in its intended way for a whole run, so I wanted to tough it out.
If you give Mama Murphy drugs before the Courser she sees the recall code and you don't have to fight him.
Yes, I've used this before, its a life saver for some of the harder challenges

It’s a bit tedious to set up but if you get a few raider outposts and have a lot of settlements sending tribute then the tribute chest fills up to tens of thousands of caps after just a few minutes of sleep spamming
I’m doing another challenge in the realm of this and I can agree it’s tedious to get started
Well it seems kind of a gray area - if you let companions kill stuff for you, this means you can give them better weapons too.

Haha thank you! Look the only painful bit was the struggle for ammo, outside of that it was a pretty decent gun, and I’d imagine the fully upgraded quantum attachment would be nuts haha
I just had an idea for a run as Optimus Prime in fallout 4 You have to use weapons/armor that fit his character and must destroy the decepticons (Institute/Brotherhood) and aid the autobots (MinuteMen/Railroad) power armor is optional
You could've only used the thirst zapper, in vats with the mysterious stranger perk, it can activate sometimes (and is actually quite fun to do)
It's like russian roulette, but you aren't the one shooting.

Kinda sad you didn't get to the the full power of the Thirst Zapper with the Cherry and Quantum mods, but still this is a whole other level of impressive since you only used the Cola version, bravo!
Honestly those upgrades take the challenge part away, they deal so much damage haha
Can you beat fallout 4 as NESTLE, the challenge is to make all your money by looting bodies and selling bottled water. Use any weapons(modern weapons pack with a weapon dmg reduction addon). And I think nestle’s would either be the Minutemen or the Institute. Also i would add in the challenge to loot everything from every body(just to make it a little harder to move when fat with loot:))
Ive been playing this game on-and-off for 8 years and I only just now realised there's a chem lab at Sanctuary 😂
I tried too only I did a few things differently to make it easier on myself. I used this video kinda as an inspiration for my own run I feel like the biggest thing I did different was grinded levels to make salvaging supplies easier as well as use the other mods for the thirst zapper Apart from that and using overseers guardian in the early stages instead of spray and pray I pretty much did the same stuff as you. The build was so fun to mess around with I even kept playing with it post game just for my own amusement

I literally didnt know you could upgrade the thirst zapper. Ive even found the schematics but i didnt think twice about them
Im sure someone pointed this out already but when out of ammo or against weaker enemies you could gun bash them

The Weaponized Thirst Zapper can actually deal some decent damage though yes the ammo is brutal to get.
Glad you decided to use other weapons for Nuka World since the challenge was just for Base Game.

You know that if you farm the Super Duper Mart in Lexington by sleeping in a bed in Sanctuary and getting the Nuka Cola right at the entrance to the right, ammo wouldn't be much of an issue.
I like the reload does it depend on how much nuka cola you have?
as long as you have a nuka cola to reload , itll do the animation, it "empties" each bottle with each shot, so youll always pour in a full bottle
Use the console code scrapall to scrap the whole settlement and store any items automatically.
Reads title: Yes, attach mini nuke mod onto it. Easy peasy.....except every time you are indoors.
If you unequip bring your fist out for a split second and re equip your weapon the gun will reload its self without the anamtion

I used a glitch to attach the experimental modification of the fat man in that water gun, and now it's pretty useful but a bit dangerous
I’ve done that with the 10mm pistol a couple of times and I end up dying more than the enemies haha
i created the soara water gun plus the mirv of the fetman and called it boom boom
If you use mama Murphys sight right before you go to the courser you can get his shutdown code

If you give mama Murphy enough chems she'll give you the reset code for the courser to turn him off

Can you beat fallout 4 but you can only deal damage by using pain train?(for more of a challenge you could use a mod so you have to get training to use power armor)

Cheat terminal functions better, the original version with all dlc. Been using it for a year and now i learn that i can access all the dlc stuff as well, they should just rename download-content to dlc-content. Having a blast but yeah im stuck on home sweet home, but if im right the game should fix itself. I should just game for now and keep passing quests. The code should fix itself, it has done it in the past, all of a sudden days later the quest passes, execution of commands done by the basecode is delayed for all the extra frames of data we add as mods. I used to really go nuts over these bugs but now weed helps me

The last time I defeated Colter, I took him out with only the thirst zapper and the frags I collected in the Gauntlet.
Nice! What level were you when you did it? I think I got 1 or 2 grenades and the rest were guns with maybe 1 magazine worth of ammo haha

I've found that the random Nuka machines around the map refill faster with various Nuka.
They do every 3 days I think it is, but going to the shops are faster if you’re looking for a bigger supply and less randomness

Can't you just set up a purified water mining operation in a settlement to make some money?
Been a while so I don't quite remember all of it but I do believe there's plenty of ways to make infinite amounts of cash without having to resort to violence using settlements and that can then be used to procure materials for ammo. 🤔
You can get the Thirst Zapper without completing the Gauntlet if you use Power Armor to clip through a wall or door in a strategic location. This could, theoretically, allow you to do the challenge with a complete weapon restriction, by starting Open Season by bludgeoning a raider to not-life with a Thirst Zapper from the Nuka-Cade. This would allow you to activate the power plant, because all that requires is having a DLC-ending quest active, and Open Season counts as a DLC-ending quest.
So, you could do this entire thing with only the Thirst Zapper, if the rule you decided to break in Nuka World was the "No Glitches/Exploits" one, and that would actually increase the suffering you'd have to endure on this run.
The only thing i wonder though, is fun bashing doesn’t do hardly any damage even at 10 strength and with how many raiders they’re are, I think I would just have to do nuka world the normal way, on top of that, idk how I would survive without exploits at such a low level and having to stand still hahah. Maybe power armour? Either way, it would be an interesting challenge for the future
@@krisisgaming You don't need to complete Open Season to activate the power plant, just have it active. All you'd need to do is aliven't one raider, then run like hell to the power plant. Once the plant is active, you'll have access to the Project Cobalt schematics, and you'll theoretically be able to unalive the raiders the normal way.
Like I said, it'd massively increase the difficulty of the run, but it'd be a "true" Thirst Zapper Only run with only one glitch/exploit.

why does everyone hate the railroad??? wtf did they do wrong? either way, fun looking run. sorry it was really rough to get through. if i might make the suggestion of setting up the settlement stuff for better income? cause i know the whole purified water strat nets you bucket loads of money. especially if you got multiple places cranking out all the fresh water the wasteland could want. all the caps you'd need and more for ammo. then again, time constraints do make that... tedious.
yeah, I've just spent about 40 hours doing settlement shenanigans and I'm over them haha
If you had cleared nuka world the intended way, by clearing it and siding with the raiders, there would be 3 easy ways to make money. 1 the overbosses chest, auto caps, 2 the pick me up stations that produce chems and 3 the booze stills that make vodka automatically. Kind of dropped the ball there, would have been way less scavenging.

Fists only, high int build, power armor is fair game, must acquire 10,000 caps(cause he's rich). I'd say no killing but that's been done to death, you can jus say they're just knocked out or download the knockout framework for immersion's sake.

What is the blue whale thing about?
I just think it's usage is strange and very unpleasantly reminds me of the blue whale thing that happened on the internet a few years back.
I like your video but I would love a wholesome explanation for the whale thing as it's very disturbing to me.
I just use different animals to censor out gore because otherwise TH-cam age restricts my content. If you watch other videos, the thing used to censor changes like I use a donut for the Homer Simpson run. It’s nothing malicious I promise :)

I'd break tos by even explaining what the blue whale thing was about. It's just that image, not sure if the exact one but one very much like it was used a lot and I was very happy to have forgotten.

@@sczeagle1595 I'm not offended, I'm simply a concerned individual, who in a reasonable way is bring to attention something that the creator should be aware of. as well as looking out for them. this very image or a one like it as well as the words blue whale were advertised on social media as a calling card of the people running the scheme they drove 78 kids to take their life and over 2000 estimated kids serious self harm. i was a victim of this and that's why i maybe taking this more seriously then i should. i apologise for offending you. and blowing things out of proportion.

The Thirst Zapper is my favorite weapon in the game, but I do use some mods to make it work better. One that makes it shoot out as a spray like a real water gun would and one that just makes the ammo easier to get, the quantum shot is almost a smaller mini nuke shot. Though sometime try to beat the game with only the Nuka Nuke launcher. I tried once and I wish I had a recording of just HOW many times I blew myself up with that thing!

@@iLoveBuckets69 I play on PS5 so I use those mods, but one lets you assign custom legendary effects to weapons, one of the effects is a 3 shot and a 4 shot' which makes it shoot multiple shots at once. The other adds custom automation machines and one has the Nuka cola ammo and makes like 25 per batch. Also one that gives a ring that removes reload animations from weapons, so using that you can just fire like crazy
