Ehhh, revolver having half life’s crusty ass revolver sound is fine. Some of the animations are still decently pleasant to look at and the sounds are satisfactory. These aren’t the type of devs to look at for putting more money into something like this.

Some reloads are pleasantly surprising, like many games outright ignore double barrel release lever while this game doesn’t. But then the character slaps a gun, that is clearly SVD, to chamber a round. All kinds of weird.
@@alessgr9394 I’m not counting AAA, if that’s what you’re implying. They got production budget to cover such things, so if they don’t - it’s just shameful. This game doesn’t necessarily. And yes, I’m kinda living in the past, because modern AAA overdetailed reloads became stale for me rather quick.
So my speculation is that either that’s the newer build in the screenshots and we got the broken version; or they are having us test it and then give us more stable patches in the future. Despite that, this game is embarrassing in the animation department. Just complete jank.
Iron sights on some guns were raised in an update because it was very difficult to aim with suppressors (these sights are a real thing btw). I don't know why they're still like that without a suppressor tho, it just looks weird, especially on the .44 magnum which shouldn't be suppressible irl.

The biggest crime was the introduction of the pipe guns while removing the blunderbuss... I get wanting to put in makeshift looking guns, but they could have at least looked at real ones (from prisoners for example) for inspiration. Otherwise I think my favorite animation mishap is the "loads 2 shells into pumpaction no matter how many shells are missing from the tube". It's kind of hilarious. The safety on the desert eagle looking like that I can't forgive though...
I absolutely love it when video game developers accidentally reveal they've never held a gun just by silly mistakes, like how the iron sights are just... nonsense. SO many games do this where you don't line up the rear sight with the front sight, meaning you'd be aiming way too high. (Dead Island 2 does this on the shotguns for example.) I'll never forget the freakin' lawnmower pull-start on the M4's forward assist in Counter-Strike though 💀
There was a fun little bug with the robotic sledge that I'm sure everyone knew about. For those who didn't, the robotic sledge could ragdoll teammates (not sure if you can still do this) and in one of the alphas you could use it to ragdoll your friends down tall buildings with ZERO consequences. No broken legs, no health loss, nothing. It was useful and hilarious.
You can still sortof do this; though it requires friendly fire/ally attacking to be enabled. Hitting them with the sledge still hurts them and sends them flying; but the ragdoll prevents fall damage.
I remember an early version I played on the PS4, we had the M9, revolver, Kalashnikov, hunting rifle, blunderbuss, shotgun and the rocket Launcher. Now look what we have in the recent version tho
i'm a huge fan of the game but they really need to make the iron sights like actual iron sights cause some of them are bad and many are atrocious, not to mention a silencer on a magnum revolver would not work at all lol
I quite like how crude it is, it makes a lot of sense to me that a gun made out of random junk would be difficult to operate. Fallout 4 fucks this up by making the pipe guns fairly smooth in their operation. Even reusing the .44 revolver animations on the pipe revolver. Like, nigga, these are cobbled together from scrap.
Loved the game for years, but the firearms have always just sorta been meh to me. I wish they'd open up more opportunities and such to modders to allow for custom animations and stuff. A few gun mods sort of skirt this, but it's incredibly janky lol.
The longer I watch the more questions I want to ask, I used to play long ago and... Why Pistol is not cocking back now, it used to work before. Magnum revolver with goofy ah halflife 1 pistol sound. Marksman rifle still have that same animation, magazines do not get replace.

There is a revolver that is able to use suppressors, as when firing the cylinder moves forwards and makes a seal with the barrel. That probably isn't that one though.

Because when TFP makes something new they have to squeeze out the old, even when the old is something great. They cannot stand fixing 1 aspect of the game and keeping it around for more than 3 updates, its always “”half-baked”” and instead of putting it back in the oven they throw it out and serve more half-baked updates. Old A16 skills? Gun parts? True tower defense? Get rid of it, we have RPG stat perks, gun mods, and enemies that counter all base defenses (unless you exploit bad AI with cheese).

Really bizarre that they got details like the hammers and release lever on the double barrel right, but then forgot the hammer on most of the pistols and the slide on the Beretta.
Oh my god they improved the chainsaw sound. It doesn't sound like that godawful squealing anymore. Wonder how the auger sounds on metal now because PINGPINGPINGPINGPINGPING got on the nerves pretty quick too. As for the guns, lot of folks complaining about how they don't even look like guns but remember, this is supposed to be a scrappy survivor learning how to make his own forge, his own workbench, his own ammo and his own guns from scratch. They're not supposed to look factory fresh. Although it WOULD make sense for them to look different at different quality levels, i.e. a T1 would look like taped up scrap but a T6 would look smoothbored and shiny. That would be fair, though it would take several extra models for each weapon.
As an experienced player of 7 Days to Die since its early development stages, I have observed the significant improvements in the game's graphics and overall quality. However, it is evident that the developers may have relied on estimations and assumptions when designing certain firearms within the game.
How should i aim with this? Where the hell should i aim ? Is it like the monitor center? Ironsights are not pointing at it. Is it ironsights? I dont know, they they all at a different level with different guns. How do you even design something like this?
When you are actually playing the game, the UI will show a crosshair, and it will even stay there when aiming down sights. It's stupid, i know, but it does mean anyone will know where they are aiming. Also, according to some other comments, the devs changed how the iron sights looked because players complained they couldn't see targets when aiming with silencers.

Oh my god there's so many things wrong with this, half of the time parts of the gun isn't moving, equipping a gun and aiming it looks like two pictures moving, silenced guns sound like goofy laser guns, iron sight placement is horrendous and soon design in general is so bad.
They should redo the pipe pistol and .44 reload animations. Make it where the pipe pistol reloads the bullets one at a time. And for the .44 give it a speed loader and remove that horrible cylinder spin. Also make it so for guns with no mags you actually load the amount of rounds for the weapon like the pump shotgun and the lever action
Who cares? The effort went into the 1000+ unique POIs and mining/crafting/building mechanics that are more in depth than Minecraft. Not every game needs cod reloads to be good lol

5:56 Cursed ak that even the mosin and shovel ak fear. At first glance it looks like they took the most generic "AK-47" and put it into the game and added some useless rails welded onto the dust cover, there are certain attachments that can do the same thing, even some variants of the ak offer a side rail for a scope or mounting rails. The ak has its top handguard removed for some reason, and the devs thought it would be ok to add welded pieces of metal on the gas tube. even welding some on the handguard despite the fact it can work perfectly fine without the top handguard, maybe the devs thought that the bottom handguard relied on the top handguard for support which is wrong. also welding metal to a gas tube is a bad idea. They dont even give the ak its proper respect by at least including the iconic ak reload, instead the animation shows it being mutilated. The magazine is shoved in despite the fact it requires a more specific motion to insert the magazine, to me it comes of as lazy since even the most shitty of animations can get the ak right. im not even gonna mention how the selector is set in safe making this gun unable to chamber a round. 7:20 cursed "svd" that should be banished to hell. I guess the developers have no concept of a magazine release because he just punches the damn magazine away, the devs then go out of their way to add insult to injury by slapping this abomination like a damn ar. 9:02 "lever action" Wood is tapped onto a lever action barrel and magazine tube as a crude makeshift handguard, thing can't even cycle a round because the hammer and entire back portion can't move. 4:47 inbred mp5 Iron sights won't even work, they just put a damn circle and called it good. mp5sd and mp5a3 had incest together and this thing came out and was dropped as a baby. 1:00 "revolver" It's like the schofield revolver and the cap and ball revolver merged together to make this unholy hellspawn. This thing can't even properly fire.
Strange Thing. AK47 - Use 7.62x39mm, SVD - Use 7.62x54mm - But in game use same ammo 7.62. Winchester 1866 (Level Action Rifle) - Use .44 WCF (look like 44. magnum) - but in game use 7.62, why not 44?
Ah yes...If you don't spin the cylinder of the revolver the gun clearly won't fire...It's an essential thing that needs to be done. Hunting rifles iron's went from "decent" to "Actual garbage", in fact a lot of the gun's iron sights really need to be changed... The Lever action doesn't need to have an entire sand storm blurt out after every single shot...And the pipe weapons should be all kinda re-done.

The game isn’t about the guns but at least the guns aren’t weak and blow the zombies limbs off which is badass and the guns destroy the zombies easily. The bad iron sights and weird design of the guns give the game a personality in a way in my opinion but the guns don’t work like how they are exposed to but who cares when you can have a flaming sledgehammer to smash into a zombies face

As for the guns, lot of folks complaining about how they don't even look like guns but remember, this is supposed to be a scrappy survivor learning how to make his own forge, his own workbench, his own ammo and his own guns from scratch. They're not supposed to look factory fresh. Although it WOULD make sense for them to look different at different quality levels, i.e. a T1 would look like taped up scrap but a T6 would look smoothbored and shiny. That would be fair, though it would take several extra models for each weapon.
Those iron sights make even Bugthesda's gun design pretty decent
As an experienced player of 7 Days to Die since its early development stages, I have observed the significant improvements in the game's graphics and overall quality. However, it is evident that the developers may have relied on estimations and assumptions when designing certain firearms within the game.
How should i aim with this? Where the hell should i aim ? Is it like the monitor center? Ironsights are not pointing at it. Is it ironsights? I dont know, they they all at a different level with different guns. How do you even design something like this?
When you are actually playing the game, the UI will show a crosshair, and it will even stay there when aiming down sights. It's stupid, i know, but it does mean anyone will know where they are aiming.
Also, according to some other comments, the devs changed how the iron sights looked because players complained they couldn't see targets when aiming with silencers.

Oh my god there's so many things wrong with this, half of the time parts of the gun isn't moving, equipping a gun and aiming it looks like two pictures moving, silenced guns sound like goofy laser guns, iron sight placement is horrendous and soon design in general is so bad.

They should redo the pipe pistol and .44 reload animations. Make it where the pipe pistol reloads the bullets one at a time. And for the .44 give it a speed loader and remove that horrible cylinder spin. Also make it so for guns with no mags you actually load the amount of rounds for the weapon like the pump shotgun and the lever action

Cursed ak that even the mosin and shovel ak fear.
At first glance it looks like they took the most generic "AK-47" and put it into the game and added some useless rails welded onto the dust cover, there are certain attachments that can do the same thing, even some variants of the ak offer a side rail for a scope or mounting rails.
The ak has its top handguard removed for some reason, and the devs thought it would be ok to add welded pieces of metal on the gas tube. even welding some on the handguard despite the fact it can work perfectly fine without the top handguard, maybe the devs thought that the bottom handguard relied on the top handguard for support which is wrong. also welding metal to a gas tube is a bad idea.
They dont even give the ak its proper respect by at least including the iconic ak reload, instead the animation shows it being mutilated. The magazine is shoved in despite the fact it requires a more specific motion to insert the magazine, to me it comes of as lazy since even the most shitty of animations can get the ak right.
im not even gonna mention how the selector is set in safe making this gun unable to chamber a round.

Ah yes...If you don't spin the cylinder of the revolver the gun clearly won't fire...It's an essential thing that needs to be done.
Hunting rifles iron's went from "decent" to "Actual garbage", in fact a lot of the gun's iron sights really need to be changed...
The Lever action doesn't need to have an entire sand storm blurt out after every single shot...And the pipe weapons should be all kinda re-done.

The game isn’t about the guns but at least the guns aren’t weak and blow the zombies limbs off which is badass and the guns destroy the zombies easily. The bad iron sights and weird design of the guns give the game a personality in a way in my opinion but the guns don’t work like how they are exposed to but who cares when you can have a flaming sledgehammer to smash into a zombies face

The pipe shotgun is so, so unnecessary, so over the top, it looks heavy to use and dangerous to the user, yet has no real understandable components. I like the industrial look somewhat. But they could have just made a slamfire pipe.
The double barrelled silenced shotgun killed me. The sound. Absolutely hilarious leave it unchanged that amuses me a lot.
