Little Jimmy says thanks for the rescue.
Gas flex line running through the metal cabinet and aluminium tape on the flue are just a start to the problems with that furnace.
Friend of a friend, or home owner, landlord installation
I rarely ever see black pipe run to the gas valves. It seems that very few ever install to code.
It's a rainy day in Georgia, a rainy day in Georgia and I think it must be raining all over the world.
Very nice communication. T.u.
Ask for a DHC (draft hood connector), it will be double wall with the very end being single wall to make connection at heater.
Thanks for the tip!
The B-vent on that job looks like Hart & Cooley Metlvent. The slip ring shown pulls down and locks the joints together which is preferred over using screws. The Metlvent Part number for the 3 inch single-wall to double-wall adapter is 3RDH.
Three years in a row, parents leave to go south, a bird decides to do a backflip off the chimney , right into the motor blades. Finally convince them to put a screen over the opening!!
excellent...loved it
Well done Curtis, you sure had a few problemns to repair on that job. Thanks for the story with your Dad and the spiders, you had me laughing also 👍 Au
Had to laugh out loud at the lizard 😂😂😂
I DID subscribe and the deal about stuff being left to who knows what UNTIL they had to deal with it is a FACT! Along with the lizard! FINE fix. Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless Yall!
We're ten degrees warmer in Florida, but with three days of a nasty Noreastern, containing fifty mile per hour winds; really nasty weather. I'm Huddled up in my condo watching good YT stuff, like this one.
While do the lights hum in that place
I had a live squirrel in a vent pipe one time stopping the pressure switch from closing
How’d you get it out?
Saludos Curtís desde Dallas nice job once again
Saludos y gracias
Your Spanish is pretty good lol love your videos 🎉 really entertaining and educating I’m a technician myself being watching your videos for a while now great job oh and don’t pay attention to those who try to correct you, you keep doing what you know best. There’s no wrong way to do something if the result is the same. This system are built to fail otherwise we would not have a job. Keep it you’re doing great!.😂
Thanks
Nice work as always Curtis.
No lizards here in Ohio. Starlings seem to often find there way into the d.i.f.m. love the channel.
Send some of that rain up here to north Georgia and Tennessee . We are under extreme drought and wildfire conditions in this part of the state right now.
From what i can see, the flue pipe has a adjustable elbow and it has one of the gored seams is broken.
In the past or when it was installed.
As for all the bugs and critters. The cap on top didn't didn't have the tight screen material.
Great tutorial on multiple problems, and do you ever vacuum out the flute? And check for a screen on the other end to prevent spiders and more lizards from entering the system through the flue??
Gracias
You never know what you'll find in there! Once a 3/4" copper elbow dropped from the coil install,, once a bunch of nuts a squirrel had been depositing from the roof!!!
Nice video thanks 👍
Great job as always!! Ain’t it always when you’re the farthest from supplies that you always end up short or the wrong part 😅. Maybe it isn’t pretty but it’s safe and that’s what really counts! I’m with you on spiders only thing I hate worse is bees. Being allergic to the little critters don’t help! I think I’d rather see a bear than a hornets nest! You gonna be glued to the screen Saturday? 😅
omg that was close.
I think that the thermostat is in a bad location. It does not allow for proper air circulation around it.
you sure the heat exchanger is good on that unit cant help to notice it had nice even blue flame until the blower kicked on
He had door off which messes with combustion air and all honesty its normal to see a little flicker in flame when blower starts from vibration loosening dust etc
arreba los manos por vavor !! lol lol lol
Another great video Curtis!
0:04 - 🎵"A rainy -night- day in Georgia..."🎶
Was there an older fluorescent fixture nearby with a buzzing ballast?
6:56 - Hey, an anole! As a kid, I had some as pets for many years. We never bought them from the pet store, though; we'd catch them off the exterior walls of my aunt's house in North Carolina and bring them back to Connecticut. Pet stores in the late-80s were charging $45-50 each!
24:12 - To help find hidden spiders, shine a LED flashlight around. Their eight eyes show up rather dramatically under white LEDs. Some years we have tons of wolf spiders around, not quite as bad as the movie "Arachnophobia," but one day several years ago I had THREE of them in my bedroom at the same time... My flashlight showed one on my bed that I would never have seen with my overhead lights.
Dad Joke:
Q: How much electrical resistance is in the average Black Widow spider? 🕷
A: 1 KΩ (KILohm 🤣)
(I wish I thought of that one earlier, could've posted it on some favorite tech channels for Halloween!)
😂
Hate messing with 80% furnaces for that reason always turns out to be a pain with the flue pipe.
Is that louvered door covered in sheet metal or is there a high/low in the closet?
It’s covered in metal. Code around here requires combustible material to be covered in metal if it is too close to the furnace.
Speak Spanish and play a piano are 2 things I wish I had taken the time to learn You always do a great job.
I’ve found a dead rat in the furnace blower wheel for a customer with no heat
Flexible gas connections through the furnace cabinet is illegal in Georgia because of the potential fire hazard.
Electric and Telephone Companies have Regular Issues with Raccoons, Squirrels, Birds, Snakes, Wasps, etc. ALL of these can and do cause Outages. 👎
Hello Curtis, does the Milwaukee flashlight you have gets the battery hot? I have one with a swivel head that has the same battery pack and mine gets hot
I haven’t noticed that
Hi HVAC guy how you manage to work with asthma I'm struggling everyday I'm in good shape btw just wanna do from a fellow asthmatic 😂
Need my inhalers
Question brother? What’s the box behind your head on wall of van looks like an amplifier??
someone completely cut the door header to install the flue pipe causing the ceiling to crack just outside the door,,,,wow.
Good Spanish 👍
One tech in the comments had a good point..is flex line allowed for gas use inside a furnace? That didnt look right..should be black iron or copper??
here flex is allowed inside, not allowed to penetrate cabinet though. there are some exceptions
Hey Curtis how you deal with the customers on job likes this one with multiple issues you fixed and then bill or explained and then move forward,? Aim asking because you and others guys never show the parts thank you
This customer just trusted me, and let me do my job.
😂😂👍👍👍
I thought you weren't suppose to screw B- Vent connections? In our area you do that and ya fail inspection and manufacture warranty. I think ya should've left a straight piece of single wall so ya can do CO test. How good was that inducer motor gasket? Did ya replace that, It wasn't shown. Not to be a nick pick but simple things that could bite ya. Ya had to do what had to do.
Se lleva el fusible de bajo voltaje?
Faltaba cuando llugué
Man, you would forget your ass, if it wasn't attached! How do you forget your impact? But you might have forgot your lamps up there!
😂
I do believe all that shmegma on the vent pipe is the result of animal or reptile pee?, Sketchy builder install for sure
amigo, quiero ser tu ayudante
Trabajo solo, pero gracias
@@HVACGUY I know 😆 just testing your Spanish & to have it be known that I enjoy watching your work & videos. Keep up the great work, señor
Why do you have to speak Spanish that you've done lately? "English is our language".
I understand where you are coming from. But, TH-cam isn’t just in the US. It is international. And if I can start and monetize a channel that reaches millions of people that don’t speak English…the better question is why not.
