Awesome thank you!
The funny thing is, they put this video out to show off their new drummer, Vlad, and this ended up blowing up and making them super popular
If you decide to go down at this is another beautiful rabbit hole, this is a phenomenal band
Last summer, Jinjer was one of the support bands for the US Disturbed tour, along with Breaking Benjamin. Being a huge Jinjer fan, I was trying to decide whether to see them in Albuquerque or Dallas. I knew their set would be only 5 or 6 songs, but I wanted to see them plus I like Disturbed. Then I found out that on the day off between those two shows, Jinjer would be headlining a show in Lubbock, Texas. I immediately bought a ticket. It was a blistering hot July day in Lubbock, and I got to the venue early enough to be one of the first in line. The reward for baking in the sun was getting on the rail with only a 5 or 6 foot gap between me and the stage. After listening to three opening bands, all from Texas, Jinjer came on right when the sun was going down and the stage was completely in shade (it was an outdoor beer garden venue). I was right in front of Eugene, the bassist, who was amazing. Of course the shining star was Tatiana who performed like she was in front of 50,000 instead of the maybe 500 packed together that night. They didn't play Pisces that night, but they did play my two favorite Jinjer songs - Teacher, Teacher! and Pit of Consciousness. They played a 14 song set and the time flew by. I have been going to concerts and festivals for almost 5 decades (I am 63) and I have been a metal fan since before it was called metal. This Jinjer show is easily in the top 20 shows I have ever seen and it was the best I saw last year. Tatiana is not only the best female metal singer today, she is in the conversation for the best current metal singer period.
I just started listening to this band a few weeks ago. Pretty bummed that they played a small show in Lubbock that recently. I'm not very far from there...
@@jonathanlocke6404 They did close to 100 shows in 2023 so they might cut back a bit this year. They will be back in the US in late April but so far only 3 shows and one is a festival in Las Vegas. Nothing else shown on their webpage until a very full November and December in Europe, South America and Mexico. They will also be at Aftershock in October. As far as I know, they are not playing any of the big European festivals this year. My guess is that they will be releasing their new album in a few months, which could mean a US tour ending at Aftershock.
The Time Signature on this song is 7/4, which gives it the dissonant feel.
Yes, it starts with 7/4 (or 3/4, 4/4 mixed if your ears prefer) but then changes a couple of times. It's 4/4 near the end for example. Not easy for the vocalist.
You could try analysing "Vortex OMV" for fun... I suspect the drummer and bassist are running a different beat to the guitarist in one section. It's not easy to count! Great track, too.
I am 64 and I have been a Jinjer fan for 6 years now. I really love this band. I have never stuck with any one this long before, Jinjer is a rabbit hole well worth going down. I hope you enjoy your Jinjer adventure.
Rock on!
The “Superfecta” of Hard Rock and Metal: Band-Maid / The Warning, and Jinjer / Lovebites -- all pushing their core genres into the next realm! 🤘 🤘 🤘🤘 Thx, RC!
Yes, thanks for doing Jinjer! I saw them live in Atlanta in December 2022. What a killer show! It's a great rabbit hole to go down, Check out some live. "Perennial" live at Wacken or "Pit of Consciousness" live in Kiev would be great next steps. Jinjer and The Warning are my 2 favorite current bands.
You're right they have a pretty big presence on TH-cam. In fact they have so many good videos, especially live videos that very few channels go down the whole rabbit hole. Suggestions would include Perennial Live at Wacken Open Air 2019, Outlander Official Live at Loudfest, Pit of Consciousness Live in Kyiv, On the Top Live in Kyiv. Teacher Teacher Live in Melbourne, Sit Stay Roll Over Live in Melbourne, Judgment and Punishment One Take Vocal Performance and that's just a short list.
Thank you for getting to this. They are easily one of my favorite bands ever. They combine gorgeous songwriting with fiendish technical skills, which is just the recipe for me to become obsessed. Vlad is in the conversation for best rock drummer today, and I agree with you, Tati is a top-three vocalist. Seeing them live is bucket list for me!
Rock on!
Jinjer is a band that will surprise you at every turn. Musically they will give you something that feels familiar and then take a hard turn from what you would normally expect a band to do. Then Tati well she has barely shown the depths of her talent with Pisces. Add every song recommended to your Jinjer list and make sure to include Jinjer Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev
Jinjer is my favorite band just ahead of Nemophila and Hanabie. As much as I love Nemophila and Hanabie that tells you how great they are. Besides the immense talent of the musicians and Tatiana’s vocals, Tati’s lyrics are just as jaw dropping lay good. My personal favorites are Outlander, Cloud Factory and No Hoard of Value for early Jinjer. For newer songs Home Back and Retrospection. I am a 56 year old metal fan and Jinjer is in my absolute top tier of live bands I have seen in person. Others are Maiden, Dio, Band Maid, Babymetal and Hanabie.
Welcome to the club, bub! Tati stole my heart years ago...
Welcome to Jinjer! Along with The Warning, Jinjer have restored my faith in music, I hope you continue with this amazing band! They have a very deep catalog of awesome songs for you to discover!

That's my kind of reaction... no over the top histrionics, just a big grin of appreciation when she shifts into low gear. Good job man.
One of the best bands out there currently (in my opinion).
Teacher teacher is a great video or perennial live at wacken
I saw them live here in Chile in 2018, what a concert, Tatiana's aura is something, they prepared their instruments on their own, now they ar bigger with bigger letters in festivals, very good musicians and obviously recommended to see live without a doubt, other recommendations: Who is gonna be the one, Captain clock, Perennial, Teacher Teacher,.
Lol Jinjer is ukrainian proggy djent groove metal with complex time-signature maze, polyrhythms and multi-genre blending. They are one of the most talented 4-pieces ever. Tati is one of the best overall metal vocalists and lyricists in the business.

like so many other bands that do these split vocal styles I love everything about it until the growling then something in my head just shuts down and I think of the Exorcist I know this is a very popular style and a touch of growling now and then doesn't hit me the same way but when it is half or more of the vocals I just tune it out. she has such a beautiful clean voice and the band is very very good I just couldn't stand the growling and it's not just them it is all the bands that lean into these kinds of vocals. it was still very impressive and the song was cool great musicianship just not my kind of Jam to sit back and listen to for any length of time
Check out Vortex. The drums and the drops are amazing in this song. Her growl is so deep in this song.
Wallflower is milder but amazing. Teacher Teacher is another. Judgement & Punishment one take vocal version is 3 or 4 songs In one.
My favorite performance is Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev.
I wonder if Dany from The Warning can learn how to do those growling vocals...
