Got over 5k through mine now. I hammered her straight out of the box. 525 to 575 rounds, half slugs, half buck. 3 guys shooting, we gave it no mercy and it ran like a top! Even Benelli does not guarantee the M4/1014 ARGO system to run light loads. Mine too will run 7 1/2 shot but I could not fault it if it didn’t. My first gen 1014 Benelli will hiccup with birdshot every now and then. All my inertia, driven tactical guns will pretty much run birdshot. My most reliable Turkish tactical shotgun is a Typhoon Defense Phoenix and also their Quake. The big name Turkish clones have tightened up their QC and their metallurgy. My first Panzer Arms M4 tore itself to pieces. They sent me one of their newest guns and it is a totally different gun as far as reliability. Really enjoyed your review buddy! HAMMER ON!
Good luck, buddy. I'm glad I grabbed one. After a few range trips, I wanted to buy the marine one next, but they've been sold out for a couple of months. Awesome shotgun
Very nice review. I have been very satisfied with my MAC 1014. A couple areas to check after your 2000 rounds and perhaps report back. Check the ends of the gas pistons for any signs of peening. Also check the bolt face where the two gas pistons make contact. This was one area that folks criticized the Turkish shotguns. Also, check the lugs on the bolt that lock into the barrel. If there are any metallurgy issues these are the places it would show up. My 1014 has exhibited no wear or peening in these areas.
As a Benelli owner, i think it's cool that people who can't afford or dont want to spend nearly 3k on 1 can get into it for a quarter of the price or less. My only concern is that quality control is hit or miss. The pistons and the face of the bcg (where the pistons contact the bolt face) are the biggest failure points to be aware of. The bad heat treatment could cause galling inside the receiver where the bcg reciprocates. Causing failures to eject and failures to load a round. In the worst case, they will stop cycling all together. That is the biggest problem with them. Im not gonna give people crap for buying a "Turknelli" i just want people to be aware of the aforementioned issues. Also i got lucky and purchased mine from a used rack at my local ffl for half price. Were it not for that i more than likely would've gone down the clone route.😅
They can say what they want about the Turkish shotguns, but my Mac 1014 runs flawlessly. Break it down and clean the packing grease off, lube it up, and let it rip. Very manageable recoil as well. Definitely worth the money
It was your original video that caused me to pick one of these up for ~300 dollars. First thing I did was take it completely apart, bushed and lubed the ARGO system, and I upgraded it with RX Arms parts plus a couple others. So far I’m about 600 shots in with only 3 failures to feed in the first 100. Besides that, flawless.
Make sure to take it apart and keep a watch on your bolt face and the ends of the gas pistons for chipping and flattening. I truly believe MAC specs on this gun forced all the Turkish clone manufacturers to tighten up their QC and metallurgy. These M4/1014 clones were the most sold tactical shotgun of 2024. Can I look at my $2800 build Benelli 1014 and see a difference between it and my MAC 1014? WHY HELL YES, but I better can for the kinda money I have in it, but for $300 to $400 bucks depending when and where you buy these clones, they are excellent in helping you relieve your "buckshot blues". I love my MAC 1014 and my MAC M2.
I have about 2000 in my now, no issues. Used birdshot 1250fps up to 1650 slugs even home load birdshot / buck at 1300fps using Winchester Super Handicap powder.
ill never understand people making fun of other people for budget guns. single trigger pull will end a home invader. doesn't matter if its a $2400 benelli m4, or a $350 mac1014.
Earned a new sub with your testing. Just wanted to ask if you've shot the Benelli M4 and if you notice a difference in the recoil mitigation. Thanks in advance.
DO NOT GET THE A300! I understand we’re on the internet but, trust me. I work for beretta and the 1301 is the only tactical shotgun you should buy from beretta.
@Bigrig2020-c1d really? I have done a lot of research and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of benefits worth the price increase from what I have seen. So what in your experience would be the difference, and value in upgrading to the 1301? Genuenly curious
@ the difference is that the 1301 has a bolt that works similarly to an AR bolt, whereas the a300 is just a flat face bolt. Look up a dissembled photo of each to see what I mean. The 1301 charging handle is much stronger and difficult to loose because of the way it is installed and uninstalled. The A300’s charging handles are mostly plastic but with some metal mixed into their construction, and they break very often. You can also pull the CH straight out with one hand as it just clicks into place. Oh by the way if the charging handle (CH) breaks, it can render the gun useless. the recoil system is in front of the receiver (pulling the bolt forward after firing) on the 1301. This keeps the recoil very linear and in my experience lighter. The A300 recoil spring is in the butt of the gun at the angle the grip is in. To me this gives more felt recoil and less accuracy for follow up shots. the coating used on the 1301 are far superior. We do not lube the 1301 at any point before sending it out the door. I can tell you 99 of 100 1301’s I could put my life on before even test firing it. Of course the very few that do fail are fixed before leaving, BUT the A300 Ultima Patrols have been known to have catastrophic failures, extreme break in periods, simply deny to fire birdshot, and triggers can go dead simply locking up refusing to work. Not one of those issues I have faced with a 1301. We only test each gun with 3 light birdshot loads and 3 heavy buckshot loads. All 1301’s will shoot all 6 no problem from our rest or shoulder. We have documented a300’s needing 40+ buckshot shells from the rest just to limp 2 or 3 consecutive birdshot shells from the shoulder. Have also been told that the supposed break in period is up to 500 rounds for the a300, I however cannot find evidence of Berrettas recommended break in. The 1301 also shoots incredibly faster than the A300.
@@Bigrig2020-c1dAt first I just assumed you were someone just talking and didn't know what they were talking about, but you definitely proved otherwise. I've been torn between the two shotguns and you've absolutely made my decision much easier. Thank you.
Hey man great video! I picked this up recently and I have a question for you since you have so much time with the firearm. What is your preferred optic choice? I bought a Holosun 507c and found a low profile mount for it but getting in the correct shooting position for it is kind of tough and recoil goes straight to my cheekbone. Did you find the optics mounted directly to the picatinny to be comfortable and give you a better sight picture?
You are much younger than me, but how was your shoulder after each range session? We qualify with only 16 rounds of buck and slug from Mossberg 590A1 and my shoulder gets black n blue.
I just took mine out for the first time and i had a dead trigger two times maybe seemed like i was working the gun too fast? You ever have this issue was using buckshot
What brand of buckshot? Its hard to out shoot the bolt on many guns so thats probably not the case. Dead triggers usually happen because the round doesn’t have enough pressure to cycle or the sear is not engaging. I know with the Aguila Buckshot it didnt cycle or reset the trigger.
I want to get one of these and add the same modifications you did but I want to try the Neo Optics HH1 holographic sight. It's a 65 MOA ring with a 1 MOA dot. Now I know its not an eotech but like it's a shotgun who cares right? And if it's a good optic I'd put it on a rifle too.
Best ammo for me was Slugs - Federal 2 3/4” - 3” Power Shock | Troy 2 3/4” Rifled Slugs Birdshot / Target - Federal #7 Shot 2 3/4” Buckshot - Lambro Guard 00B 2 3/4” | Federal 00B 2 3/4” Basically anything federal will run fine. Any shorty shells wont work at all
