Thank you!!! I've been trying to muddle my way through lengthening a pattern and this video saved me hours of frustration.

Glad it helped! I also have a video that is specific to lengthening and shortening patterns if you need a quick reference.

Thanks. I needed this. If I only want to shorten one side I assume I just only break one side and that it won't work for the fast way. For reference, I only need to shorten the front rise.

If you only want to shorten the front rise, select only the nodes in the front rise. Adding a node at the top of the front crotch and only selecting nodes above will help the crotch shape to stay intact. Select all the nodes that you want to raise, and enter how much in the transform panel.

This was so helpful! Can you do a video showing how to lengthen/shorten the faster way with a pants pattern with a fly? I want to make sure I'm doing it right with all the curves.

Great suggestion! I’ll put it in the cue for tutorials!

Thank you SO much! I love your organized and clear instruction. I hope you might consider doing a short beginner series on AD for iPad. Gestures, everyday tools, maybe even the knife & measuring feature the new version added! Help!

Thank you for your kind comment! YES! I’m planning on doing a series of tutorials over the next few months including iPad!! With the new Affinity Designer 2, the first few are going to go over the new tools.

You have some great videos! If it helps with the math, I discovered that you can type +1 or -1 (or whatever measurement you need) in the x or y of the transform box and it does the calculation for you!

Yes! I do know this. I need to go back and update some of the videos. Thanks!
