Jen…wow! Flipping your faith was right out of my own story. Like, word-for-word. I am SO thankful for your willingness to share yourself. I admire your ability to find the good, to seek the truth and to be true to yourself while you do it. Sincerely, Thank You!
To say you speak my language, is an understatement. Simply...Wow!! Yessss to all the things- unlearning what we were taught for so long, so that we can live truly as God intended...Wowwww! So glad to have heard this episode!
I loooove this!! What you said about limiting belief is SO TRUE! I’m a divorcée as well. I met my ex-husband when I was 15 and was with him until I was 36 when I walked away from our marriage. I didn’t realize until today that I was so strong to start over…thank you for sharing your journey! ❤️
Thank you for sharing. This is so helpful. I would love to hear more about your experience with cognitive dissonance. How did you see through it? How did you come to terms with the truths in your life? How did you determine where the gaps were between what was actually in front of you vs. what you believed was in front of you? How did things become clear? Over time? With an aha moment? And how did you learn to trust your own intuition after not seeing for so long? Lots of questions here. 💕 ☺️
Jen, you have pretty much described everything I see in the "New" Christian church. It's ok to ask God to give you things, the crazy worship of money and success, if you follow what it says in the Bible and you go to church every Sunday, it's an automatic ticket to heaven. It's very interesting, since that's really not what the Gospel of Jesus advocates, when you look at the subtext, it's really quite the opposite.
Oh wow, you shouldn't demean or minimalize a woman's work in the church. Training up children is kingdom work, serving food before bible study is kingdom work, running women's Bible studies is kingdom work. God doesn't look at our works as better than others. It's about obedience and servanthood. The church's biblical system isn't the same as the world.
“Sometimes scorched earth turns into new life.” WOW + YES - looooooove that, Jen ~ thank you so much for this gift 🎁 of an episode. 💕🙏🏻 I witness you
What a powerful quote.
