It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.
Well, the insulation material that he used will cut down on the air conditioning and heating cost of the house. I can't tell if the siding is vinyl or aluminum, but aluminum gets hot fast

You still need to attach the batons as you must have ait flow behind the cladding. If you screw the cladding directly flat onto existing timber you will have no airflow and will encourage damp problems.
He put a layer of water proof paper over it to keep out moisture, but I had the same thought. He doesn't seem to be concerned about angles of the siding to be slanted to help drainage. Maybe they have little rain in his location. Also, he failed to caulk the seams between the panels.
He's doing a great job but...this cladding is plastic. How can we still be using plastic in this way knowing what we do about the environmental disaster it causes?
late reply. It's not causing environmental disaster. Why are ppl acting as if plastic is toxic or something. it just doesn't biodegrade in reasonable time period. To speed up the process you can dump all plastic on tall mountain for example. 🤷♂
@@kasparsjansons9220 putting it on a mountain would slow the process down of it breaking down. Plastic is terrible because it chokes the ecosystems where its left. Youre lucky enough to live in a 1st world country, you dont see the problems. Step outside to a poor country and dam, plastic pollution is one of the biggest problems youll face.
Yes the sides weigh next to nothing they don't need hefty fixings and the cladding itself is being fixed with 40mm screws it's solid it's only really going into the sides to make a nice looking joint...
I want to marry this man lol :) Such a pleasure to watch doing this. Such clean neat skill. Truly brilliant :)

Is it flame resistant, don't want grenfell tower again
Yes it is a fire rated cladding product, which has been given a D-s3, d2/AHM classification according to European standards.
0:13 right on the mark...
I have experience working with cladding, do you need a professional?
good job
is getting tongue and groove cladding worth it
How much does it cost
Strange that your written instructions are way different to this. And spending half the video showing battering?
stay connected thumbs up
What if the wall is made of wood. Then there is no need for the initial wood you attached to the wall?
You still need to attach the batons as you must have ait flow behind the cladding. If you screw the cladding directly flat onto existing timber you will have no airflow and will encourage damp problems.
U are badass
That insulation is going to soak up the rain that gets in nicely.

th-cam.com/video/W5xleU3rm0I/w-d-xo.html
The whole point is that it's insulated.
anyone else find it funny on vinyl siding they put a wood grain pattern on that makes it appear an an inferior wood siding product?

Is this fire resistant?
Yes, Fortex is a fire rated cladding product, which has been given a D-s3, d2/AHM classification according to European standards.
why wouldnt you just batten the wall out,why make the wall/eave smaller.looks like waste of time
harry walker looks like is for installation purposes
Ist das schwarze eine dampschperrfolie
Ja richtig
Insulation panels should have been anchored in the middle as well
Also wouldn't there be thermal bridging were the horizontal timbers are fixed. Timber as a higher u value than rockwool.
Super...
You finesse that siding into submission
I like the tunes. 🤭
This water resistend?
Yes it is, it's plastic so it can withstand all weather conditions!
