I left the Exclusives in 1957, but ever since , in the various churches I have attended ,I have always had "one foot in the door "and have interpreted the Bible for myself.I have 2 degrees in Theology and Church History , and Greek and Latin ,and taught Religious studies up tp A level. I listen to what others preach, although at 85 I no longer preach myself. Being a member of a Protestant Congregation , the cornerstone is to read the scriptures and be able to understand them for one's'self.
This isn't unusual for some groups to do. It's power and control over other people's lives. This is very intoxicating to some. It's sad and shamefull. God is about love ❤️ not divide and conquer as well as control and manipulate.
Thought this was a documentary on Trudeau's government

Each of the threads was where the initial comment was either making an off handed joke how this cult of a church is either comparable to the WEF, or to how Justin Trudeau runs Canada. These were clear and obvious sarcastic jokes meant to be humours and funny. You apparently took it all to seriously and felt the need to defend Trudeau and the WEF.

I wasn't "in" but my late husband was. I know, from living with him, how much guilt he still carried, although he was kicked out in the 1960's. Prior to this he had been "shut up", in other words, he lived in his family home, but was not allowed to talk to them, eat with them, food left on a tray outside the bedroom door. Eventually it just got too much and when he asked the "priests" who visited him regularly if he should lie so that he could return to his family, he was kicked out.
For best part of 30 years he was not allowed contact with any of his family. He wasn't even told that his father had died until a few months later. Doing the family tree many years later, I found a copy of his father's will and my husband wasn't even mentioned - it was like he had never existed. From the date of the will - a few months before his death, my father in law, must have been under duress to have signed this document as he would never had disowned his son in this way. My husband's family had been a close, loving family who became part of the Exclusive Brethren, as there wasn't an Open Brethren church in the area where they lived. Things would have been so much more different if there had been one. My husband questioned his faith for many years, but came to realise that his belief was not wrong and he went to an Open Brethren church and was re-baptised.
There was a time in the early 2000's that the Brethren (Exclusive or as now known Plymouth Brethren Christian Church) made an attempt to contact former members, in the hope of tempting them to "repent" and rejoin the group. When it became clear that this wasn't going to be successful, this practice was discontinued. For a very short time, some people were able to see and speak with much loved and missed family members that they had been prevented from seeing in 30, 40 or more years.
Bizarrely, as I had never been a member, I was allowed to communicate with my husband's family after we married in 2003. When my husband died, not one member of his Brethren family attended the funeral or even the graveside as they weren't given permission to do so.
I became a christian through the Billy Graham Crusades , and a work colleague became a Christian through the preaching of the Exclusives. WE dated and became engaged , and I went to an Exclusive meeting in Manchester with him.. I went to College to train as a teacher, and ""G"" went to Salford University. Then Jim Taylor Junior started the Separation business I refused to separate from my family and relatives , most of whom were Evangelical Anglicans or Baptists , and our Engagement was broken off . 50 years later at a family Golden Wedding , I was told that ""G"" had been leader of the Exclusives in the USA, but had been pushed out of the Exclusives in America, and had returned to Britain , without his wife and family-, and had had a breakdown . Very sad, as he was a lovely Christian guy. Even though I have been married for 60 years to someone else I now pray for ""G"" , who I understand goes to an Open Brethren Church , somewhere in Britain. SAD !

Although I’m not anyway associated with this cult/religion I do agree that it is a very bad idea to live in a home with a shared wall. It’s absolutely horrendous but some of us financially have no other choice but to live this way. 🤷♀️
