Dudes! I found that your approach actually made me want to check the plugins out for myself even more than watching videos of other dudes playing audio through the plugins. I even bought a few plugins after seeing them in your videos. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. Thanks for all the laughs too!
I work in POST for film/tv and use it on Dialogue all the time, its like the finishing sheen. On music mixes its great for controlling a singer of lead guitar that has a notes that jump out in a bad way. And this was not overpriced for what it does.
It just now clicked…there’s 4 first names going on here!! I own and use this one, still can’t figure out if I like it or not. According to the manual 😉 increasing “Boost” emphasizes lowend while reducing mids. And I’ve come to agree with the fact that if a company has a Fully functioning trial, their not trying to hide anything and it shows they believe in their product!
The Bias is a bit like a Tilt on an Eq but instead this one shifts the balance between “Recover” and “Tame” which, for me, never made much sense since you have discreet dials for both of these, so you meticulously adjust them, and then you are able to destroy everything using the Bias because …. Well because it’s there I guess
I've got this, however I've never really understood how to properly use it. It's certainly not clear. It also has the potential to absolutely fuck everything up!
I'm with Dan here. The time it took me to get a good master i might as well as done it myself. If you know what you're doing then I don't see the point of this one
Looking forward to this one. I use it a bit but I think it is part snake oil …. I shy away from it these days , I feel like it’s fooling my ears…. In a nice way though.
I'm in the same boat as you, I like it, but I've shifted towards using it to tell me what is lacking/overpowering my mix frequency-wise. I also don't like that the mix won't null with different passes of the same material
@@talktokale interesting as i never did this test. By different passes you mean print the mix 3-4 times and compare the versions via null test? Cause if you compare a printed version with the one being processed live i could imagine it causing latency related issues when comparing or am i thinking this wrong ?
@@DarkTrapStudio Yes, I understand that. For my personal taste it exceeds the threshold of difference that I'd tolerate for a processor of that type. If it doesn't for you, then great!
@@talktokale well you see it this way. The thing is ALIVE!!! :-) Probably one of the reasons it had to go. Did not want another set of brains deciding without asking

Gullfoss and Soothe is my ninja way!

U can also move the left / right slider in the main window GUI to foccus on specific frequencies, love Gulfoss.... :D
Hi guys! Quick tip: check out the Korneff Audio El Juan Limiter! Still love your vids. Cheers
"You make all the noise and I clean it up" Haha, it's a good balance gentlemen!
Great show guys but how about switching it up occasionally and having Dan review some plugins that “make noise”?
Yep...we do that sometimes...👍
This perfectly sums up what I thought about it. Quite interesting tool, but too expensive for the limited use I would have of it.
Thank frick someone else doesn't get the Bias control 😂😂😂 Great vid Btw!

Oeksound Spiff. We all know Soothe2 but Spiff is also a great plugin imo:).
Nice one ! I think that AI EQ costs quite a lot in the 100 $ price range. What about smart EQ 4 ? :D
to balance between tracks SmartEQ4 is definitely useful!
I've got this, however I've never really understood how to properly use it. It's certainly not clear. It also has the potential to absolutely fuck everything up!
True....less is more with these things....or listen to what it's doing and then adjust your mix to match...👍

Voxengo TEOTE is another cheaper alternative to check out!
We'll have a look.👍
Not the same technically.
Lads I dont know where you're getting 96 quid from. I'm seeing 185 euros here in the Netherlands.

We reviewed it when it came out....👍
I know I probably need one of these AI EQ’s but I’ve no idea which one.
Try DSEQ....👍
Selling A Theory - The Gullfoss Story
😂 📖 👍
Pretty sure Soundtheory Gullfoss is $200. I'd instantly buy it for $99

@@saardean4481 Print it twice, same mix, same position, same settings. It won't null in a null test.
