    What does it mean if the oil is coming down the shaft bit that the mower blade attaches to please help?

    • @learnsavediy
      @learnsavediy  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's coming down the shaft it is the bottom crankshaft seal that needs to be replaced.

    If a small piece of plastic accidentally fell into where you add oil externally, could it be found and retrieved by opening up the oil sump like in this video? Thanks!

      @learnsavediy  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You’ll have a better chance of finding it, yes (assuming you haven’t run the mower).

      I was able to remove the piece thanks to the help of your video! However, now the engine seems to have seized. The pull cord is hard to pull with the spark plug in, but pulls fine once the spark plug is removed. With this, I took off and cleaned out the carb, gas tank, and cleaned off the black junk that had built up on the piston. The piston will move up and down when the spinner is rotated. It does take some force to spin it, but it spins. There is also fresh oil in the engine. Any ideas what the issue could be? Thanks!

    Did you drain the oil. Out before you turned motor upside down

      Great question, Ridge. Sometimes they do get seized on. Might help to try giving it some good swings with a hammer or small sledge. I've had to do that many times before myself.

      Yeah this ole girl whooping my ass lol. I might try and drill the seal out. I'm putting a new sump on anyway
