  • in this video i show you guys how easy it is to adapt front disk brakes on a car that originally came with drum brakes up front. I use CPP brackets on my stock 2 piece spindle, i also use front brake rotors and wheel bearings off a 1970 chevelle, i use brake calipers, brake pads, and brake hoses off a 1970 camaro, i was also able to use my stock 14'' inch steel wheels too.

    Very good video, You remind me of my son in law. Great kid. Good you explain every step. Smart to do the driver side first off camera and then show us you doing the passenger side. Right to the point.
    Just one thing. Never ever use your torque wrench to loosen a nut or bolt. Torque wrenches are only to torque with. You can damage it. Try to calibrated yours up against another to see if it is off. Thanks

    Wheel bearings should be tighter. Youre right, not super tight but they shouldn't free spin that quickly. Especially when they are tightly packed with grease. Tighten the nut so the rotor it decently tight to seat the bearings.Then back it off and put the key in.

      The kit i ordered came just with the brackets them self's, and bolts, everything else i bought from the parts stores. not sure how mush i spent but it was less than $300. also i went this route so if anything goes bad i can just go to the parts store and get it, instead of tracking the part down and waiting on it to get delivered

    Let me give you a couple of professional tips first off you don’t mask off the rotor you send it out and have the whole thing powder coated or you can paint it and then you run it across your brake lathe to clean off the area the pads ride on it’ll look like absolute hammered dog shit if you try to tape it off, how that’s its done number two please do not loosen bolts with the torque wrench. That’s a good way to ruin it. That’s what a impact or a breaker bar is for.

    • @cali530marcos3
      @cali530marcos3  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well first off I cleaned the rotor and took my time taping it up and used a good paint so the came out good, it’ll look way better than a rusty surface, and for the second question I don’t use that torque wrench to torque my bolts, once I got my new husky torque wrenches I started using the cheap Autozone’s torque wrench as a regular 1/2 inch ratchet, works good kinda like a breaker bar and a big ratchet all in one
