Idk if anyone is watching after three months but I thin that 2k20 is pretty bad. I have a slasher with 90 rating in my finishing stats and hof baddges and I’ll be missing layups when there’s “3% covered” or slightly late or something. Like how? Also everyone is super slow and it’s hard to stop on the dime. 2k also makes everyone so bad to the point where if u didn’t pick a shooting archetype you’ll be airblaling a wide open 3. This makes park games take literally 10-15 minutes to finish and the people and got next leave because it takes so long. Also the neighborhood is so big that the servers are trash and makes the park empty. Hey have to make the park a separate thing and make it vibrant. They have to make the gameplay more arcade like. IMO arcade like gameplay and making more stuff overpowered is mite fun than a total sim and making everything underpowered
So @Dom, for a person that doesn't play online and hasn't played an NBA 2K game since 2K16, give me your honest opinion. Which game is best? 2K 17, 18, 19 or 20? I want to get back into playing an NBA game again but can't decide which game to get.
Finish the series w/ 2k19&20, I really enjoyed the perspective on these and thought it had great analysis, really curious to see where 2k20 would land as all of its gameplay issues are the same as 2k18 but magnified.
#23 JORDAN shittier interior defence, badges that don’t/ barely work, sharps missing full bars with hof badges and the sharp grand badge, op screens, random bump animations that make no sense, ball control not making that much of a difference (unpluckable and pick pocket make no differences). specific courts on the park being delayed with huge frame drops, ai positioning is terrible, speed is ver slow paced, dribble moves are limited and repetitive, and it has an ugly ass cover.

I really only played myleague, and that shit was so much fun. I'm not really into the competitive career modes and did some myteam, but myleague was so much fun and I could make any storyline possible
Same. I used to create a player and drop him into one of the NCAA rosters and play through his “freshman” season, then draft him into the NBA and continue his career from there. You could truly do whatever you wanted
So the blow-by’s were so easy in 2k18 that then they tried to fix that in 2k19 it made the computer defense so strong that people began to play off-ball defense
Bruh, who remembers before the first patch dropped when 2k didn’t show you what your attributes were when you were upgrading your player and they said “you could check your 2k player card to see your ratings” so you spent all the VC without even knowing what your player could do until they patched it in 😂

Tigerdome24 I personally never shirts from the kiosk, but I remember when people put Gucci and Louis shirts in the game, and players spent their VC on them, only for those companies to sue 2k for improper licensing and copyright infringement and 2k took the shirts out the game, but I don’t think there was any reimbursement for people who spent VC on those items. I also remember that closet glitch where people spent thousands of VC on clothes and shoes but it didn’t show up in the closet.
I'm still playing this one since I only buy a 2k game every 3-4 years, I guess over time I got kind of used to dealing with players dropping the ball for no reason and the layup problem. I pretty much only mess around with single player my league, simulating most of the season except for a handful of playoff games to make sure I win, or regular season games against teams with a top 3 record or something. I hate how greedy 2K has become, I'm not sure when I'll buy another game, checking the reviews when new ones come out to see if the micro transactions aren't as bad anymore, but they just seem to get worse. I loved in the older games that if you just played every game in your rookie season that would pretty much get you to a 90 overall or close to it. In 2k12 I had a 7ft. athletic small forward that ended up on the raptors and led them to four straight titles before I stopped playing. He was pretty much the greek freak before I knew a player like that would actually exist.
Dom, PLEASE bring the play nos online series back with 2k20. You are the reason I started playing 2k. I got addicted to PNO because of you videos that gave me historical fun facts in old teams and players, as well as tutorials on how to play the game

The only reason 2k18 isn’t the worst 2k to me is because 2k20 came out. I feel like they’re both equally ass but 2k18 had a shirt creator and you could create your own pro am team uniform/arena
So I have this 2K sitting in my game collection right now when I bought it for like $7 used at a Gamestop late last year. This was before the flash sale with 2k19 came and I bought that game (and am currently playing it now). One thing of note that wasn't mentioned in this review is that this is the 2K that rookie difficulty in MyCareer died and to this day I don't get it. Its not like Rookie difficulty isn't a standard or anything in sports games... Oh wait...it is! The problem with this is that people are used to the idea of being able to play on a difficulty that they are comfortable with and the fact that they decided with this 2K around patch 4 to remove something that is standard is pretty much something that should tell you the direction 2K went to try and squeeze $$$ out of people to get their players up. I get it...people hated the "Road to 99" in MyCareer but honestly it wouldn't have been so bad if people were allowed to play on the difficulty they wanted (in my case Rookie) and the A.I. wouldn't be so frustrating and the game (on 12 minute quarters) wouldn't be soul crushing at its absolute worst! The absolute last time I saw a company do this was EA back in one of the Maddens on the 360 when they jacked the difficulty of the Superstar mode (Their version of a career mode) all the way up to All-Madden but after that year they came to their senses I think and realized not to do that every again...and thank God! Some might counter "Bruh this is a competitive game so quit complaining" The problem with this logic is that its a sports game and it wasn't until fairly recently that sports games started having a "competitive scene" which ,at least in my mind, causes a lot of toxicity because everyone is scouting everyone instead of just playing the damn game! This is a reality that no one wants to face but the truth is that ever since they removed the Rookie difficulty starting with this version in the MyCareer it went from something that should be FUN to something that I wonder how in the hell anyone plays it! But that's just me!
I think what's brought people back for a bit is the physical legendary edition was on sale at best buy for $20 so for that price people have jumped in late I know I did at end of November.
The reason for the missed layups is that they hadn't finished giving the proper animations to interior defenders yet, and still put the game out anyway. To make up for the lack of ability to play real post defense, they turned down the layup success to an absurd amount. Mix that with absurd blow by system and you have the worst in the paint gameplay for a 2k ever
If we could get the 2k18 MyGM type stuff now and have it be a mode centered around being a coach, that would be great! I’ve never gotten why there isn’t a coaching career in 2k

This game has forever kept me from buying another title after buying nba 2k4-18
The reason for the missed layups is that they hadn't finished giving the proper animations to interior defenders yet, and still put the game out anyway. To make up for the lack of ability to play real post defense, they turned down the layup success to an absurd amount. Mix that with absurd blow by system and you have the worst in the paint gameplay for a 2k ever
Awful game. No defense. Everyone could make a 3. Annoying.
If we could get the 2k18 MyGM type stuff now and have it be a mode centered around being a coach, that would be great! I’ve never gotten why there isn’t a coaching career in 2k
