- I don't know about you but when my PCOS went untreated I had some really scary experiences. Let me know in the comments what (if any) scary PCOS symptoms you have or had.

I also got diagnosed at 22 but had symptoms since 16 (beginning of birth control era). The weight gain, anxiety, landed me in the psych a few times through the years, yo-yoing in weight etc I too had a TERRIBLE experience overall so far BUT, one incident had brought me to hell and back times 10. Around this time, I had been on metformin for 8 months, was at 153, had the most energy i had in my life mind you ! idk if it was a miscarriage w no blood (had my period right before), a fibroid or multiple fibroids bursting or what but my body started to cramp up extremely bad to where i had to scream into a pillow sometimes, (migraines,
back pain that shot to to my eyes, vision blurring sometimes) which led to insomnia from the pain which naturally led to psychosis .
Ended up back to back in the psych from the disorientation 3 times- This lasted from Febuary 2022 and just snowballed till May 2022. My pcp, the er did not know what to do, the ultrasound that the er did (after the 3rd visit) showed nothing there. Chucked it up to histamine intolerance, my pcp ultimately had to pull some strings to get me Nurtec which was heaven sent for the migraines and I would down nightquil to go to bed.
Another scary thing that happened in between that time was that I blacked out one time, March 17, 2022, I don’t remember what happened from 7 am from 5 pm. I was in my apartment and woke up in my ford escape with my fiancé driving. He told me what happened but i don’t remember any of what he recalled. I still don’t have a recollection of my own of what that was all about till this day.
I was so scared of that happening again that I stopped the metformin and the plethora of supplements I had taken to get me to hormonal/metabolic stability fearing that something related to them could be the culprit, gained all the symptoms back and the weight by the time October of 2022 came around.
But I just got my prescription filled again April of 2024! I’m just scared of a repeat of that incident. Pray for me 🧎🏾♀️
I am going to show my new pcp this when I finally meet them because… yikes
