Learn to use your vst looper on your daw. I use a bass, guitar and my ableton push to create full on ensembles on the fly with space to perform improvisations.
I respectfully disagree that this is the answer. For one style of music, yes, but that's it. I have also struggled with the problems of a Looper ( have the Boss rc 500) with dual tracks- better, but still temperamental. I think the best answer for me as a solo performer is getting comfortable with creating percussion by hand and using the looper. I think adding a beat is the most important addition.
Jon you're probably right that most 'younger ' guitarist don't know this style. As you most likely know this style has been around a long time. Think of Merle Travis. Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Tommy Emmanuel just to mention a few. That alternating bass line is the Merle Travis style. Enjoy your videos 😊

Awesome
True, but I grew to dislike the sound of the drums. Aeros Loop Studio might be another technical solution.
Appreciate your tutoring very much. Fine looking tele Jon.
Jon thanks, I think you’re great!
