I’m so glad that Lauren agreed to go on Kristen and Stephen’s podcast. I NEVER expected that to happen since Lauren has completely distanced herself from all of that. I think we all suspected that Laguna Beach and The Hills was 99% fake and influenced entirely by the creators of the show who wanted to see more drama.
I dare say she was happy to do this one, she probably won't do The Hills rewatch..

It’s so awesome they buried the drama and apologized to each other I always thought they could have been really great friends back in the day if they really sat down and laid everything out on the table cause they did like a lot of the same things also going to the same places I’m just so happy they got a chance to talk and hashed out all the drama maybe now they can be in a place now to hangout, do things together

It’s crazy that it’s been 16 yrs since the show. I’m around their age and loved laguna beach (didn’t care for the hills as much because it was too produced) so that makes me feel super old. And I also forget that Lauren had her start on reality tv sometimes because I’m a fan of her fashion line and just forget that, oh yeah, her career started because she was jealous that her favorite male friend had a girlfriend she didn’t like and she kinda wanted to date him but didn’t. Petty high school bs. Crazy!
I’m glad they both apologized to one another and really came out about LB being scripted.

If you listen to the full podcast Lauren and Kristin never had a problem. They even hung out together after. Heidi might not have said the sex tape rumor about Lauren but she knew Spencer did and she saw no issue with it since it wasn't her yet it was said about her best friend. Telling the world about a possible sex tape and saying Slut are 2 different things

Of course the only thing they’re focusing on here is the women and how horrible they were to each other. But I don’t see him saying anything about his gross behavior by playing them, both against each other. I’d like to hear him apologize to both of them. Maybe if he hadn’t been dating somebody and telling the other one he loves them there wouldn’t have been any animosity between those two women.

It was definitely a big hit to the extent that a TV show loosely inspired by Laguna Beach was created - The OC, which was also a huge hit.
Laguna Beach was a massive hit for MTV. However, Laguna was inspired by the OC. Not the other way around

I like them both for being great examples for women (or at least trying). They are portraying growth and positivity, living their best lives working on their careers and balancing family lives. Props to Lauren for apologizing first and being honest and truthful that there was an issue. Props to Kristin for inviting her and being a friendly welcoming host.
If everybody knows the show was fake, why is there still an interest in it? They should make a new show about reality behind a reality show. It will be called Life is just a Reality Show.
