As much as I wanted to enjoy this garden, the constant whining about how people are getting in the way puts a bad taste in my mouth. Am I sensing a brush of arrogance here? I hope not.
And find out the time when they spray the mist in the cloud forest. Before the mist subsides, go inside the tower. The experience is very different. It's a must to have the mist presented.
I went this summer and nearly fell over because I have never in my lifetime seen so many spectacular aroids in one place. My mind was absolutely blown. I daydream about it frequently now.
Sean, thank you SO much for taking us along even tho it was overwhelming and hectic and time with your family. And thank you for being real about it. This actually ended up being one of my favorite planty places you’ve been, and has inspired me to get more begonia! Thanks for the content and time! And thanks to your momma and cousin :) Also those anthuriums are the end: WOW!
I can watch this video a million times. Talk about symbiotic relationships, legit the epitome of a little piece of plant heaven. Gardens of the Bay and its synergy is unprecedented and you covered it so well! Creepers become climbers, plants do have a mind of their own, excuse me while I pick up my jaw 😲🤣 thank you for sharing 👌💦🌱💫
Thank you greatly Sean, means a lot! I finally found a passion that allows me to be myself, your channel was one of the first to inspire me, Wild Fern, Patadendron, Leafing Around and others as well. Keep up the great work, keep connecting, their are many present and future plant parents that need your expertise, keep sharing the joy, let's goooo 💦🌱💫
Thank you Sean for picking the battle so I can see the Wonder from a 'safe' distance. Will definitely consider going there next time I am in Singapore.
15:20 on the right side of Peperomia Elongata is Gynura Aurantiaca Purple Passion🙂 I have one as well, they are cheap to come by in Europe. Got it a couple of months now, easy plant so far (in my living room at 55-65% humidity on average and 16C-19C temperatures). In case anyone was wondering
I’ve always wanted to visit for so many years…won’t happen, but I’m so happy you’ve taken us to this wonderland. Words can’t explain how magical this is. Thanks so much Sean; you’d make a great reporter!
18:40 Begonia Carolineifolia, I've also seen it being called "The Palm Begonia". Loves it on the dry side, is what the seller told me when I bought mine. Lovely plant, unique look especially when they get bigger. Does well in 40-60% humidity according to sources I deem very reliable, so it should be fine in most living rooms with the right light
I love your spirit!! I truly enjoyed your interaction today as always, thank you 🙏 so much! It always leaves me feeling like a kid in a candy store as I follow through your eyes and soak up all of your energy and inspiration!! You’re the best and I definitely want this spot on my bucket list for sure!!
It's because Monstera grows just fine outside in our crazy weather and doesn't require the greenhouse or any sort of specialized care. If they planted Monstera in here under prime conditions, they'll literally grow to monster size and take over everything. We generally use Monstera plants as landscaping foliage for public areas in Singapore. Whether it's in full sun or inside a mall, Monstera has proven to be remarkably adaptable here. I walk past a whole patch of them at my train station everyday.. and they have trunks thicker than my arm and I have never seen the staff do more than water them sometimes.
respect bro. it is a public space. you'll get used to them eventually. chill out and just enjoy the plants. You could have just done a voiceover so you wont panic while touring. :)
Haha I noticed it too during editing… was contemplating to just voice over it but theres some fun and realness there… Im sure many feel the same in the situation and its a basic human reaction 😅😅
love this video! and how wonderful the place is! amazing! I can experience it by the sound of your words and the excitement on your tone. and the people are as interesting as the plants them selfs, you have no idea how much you are missing! Great job!
I would absolutely love to visit this place at least once in my life. Thanks for this amazing video! You got a new sub. You mentioned about there being no Monstera's, but I personaly wondered about Alocasia presence.. I didn't see any of them as well
Oh true i didnt see them too. Maybe alocasia is to keep spidermites away… its also possible that monsteras are not known to be high altitude plants? While anthuriums and some philodendrons are
Ahh yeah spidermites could be the reason! Alocasia's are also no climbing plants ofc. I did miss them a little on maybe some flat surfaces. But monstera's are excellent climbing aroids I think, but I don't know about high altitude.
I certainly understand your frustration at trying to create content for your vlog......and having to desl with the noise from the Avatar soundtrack, inc animal calls, peoples loud chatter and supposidly getting in their way......After all you were taking pictures and had the same rights to get the shots you wanted. Might need to take a couple bouncers ( security ) next time 😄 Really felt for you.....but you did well, Wish you could have spent a bit more time there. Maybe another opp will come when the Avatar exibit finishes and all it peaceful as there were so many plants that caught my eye in just in the frame...would LOVE more detail. The Begonias blew my mind. Absolutely Stunning. Thanks Sean.....you never disapoint 🙏🙏🙏
I've always wondered how they import huge and rear plants across the world over. Would you mind doing a video on the logistics of finding a special plant, and relocating it to a huge greenhouse?
Ooh this really depends on many factors… most important being the import regulation of the specific country. Singapore opens its doors to imports with almost no restrictions, its the easiest country to import. Which is why it enjoys such a huge diversity if plants worldwide. Also when you are a government backed project or a conservatory, there are different process (much easier) to bring in endangered, and also huge plants. It would most certainly have to be air-flown.
I changed to 1080 p resolution to extract all the Benifits 😂.I think Irin has covered this garden in her channel but I’ll never get bored of this Pandora world.I was really Pandorised😮😮😮….
I get annoyed with tourists too lol But Sean, it's like you read my mind. When I saw the verrucosum, I thought, please inform me of your pest management practices in such a big building

The ideal time to visit the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest is 9 am on weekdays before the tourist buses arrive 😂
Haha thank you Ill keep that in mind. Good tip!

Yes I see Monsteras everywhere on the roadsides! Here in Indonesia they are considered expensive and they are prone to get stolen.

Wowww that is great tips indeed. I wonder if thats also applicable to all the enclosures/attractions
Sorry but I couldn't stand the music on this one. : ( It sounds like a movie preview.
Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate honesty 🌹

Its a lesson well learnt haha. Ill definitely hit up places first thing when they open
People can be so rude sometimes, they have to have their precious photo no matter what, no regards to everyone else there 😅
