Tried your recipe last night for HOT DOG BUNS and turned out better than the first recipe I tried (which did not include eggs, milk and butter)!! I didn't have a mixer so I only used an electric hand mixer to knead the dough and I couldn't get the dough to become stretchy.. kneaded it for about 15mins before I gave up haha! But it still was OK! Will try with a mixer one day :) Thank you for this!!!
Woo! Awesome video. Now I’ll be able to make my own at home without forever having to travel far just to go to the Chinese bakery in the city to get some. Thank you
1. In a skillet heat up 2 tbsp oil 2. Add shallot, saute until fragrant 3. Add chicken, cook for about 3 minutes. 4. Add vegetables (celery, carrot, potato & peas) 5. Add seasoning, stir to combine ingredients. 6. Add water, stir and bring it to a simmer, then cook for 5- 6 minutes or until chicken/vegetables cooked. 7. Add corn starch slurry. Cook until curry thicken. 8. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
Hi what size is your mixer? I have a 3.5 quart mixer, but it seems like your mixer is larger than mine, which may be an issue if I overflow my mixer haha.
I followed the recipe exactly.... and my mix never formed into a dough. I tried it again and the exact same thing.... I let it mix on the 2 setting for over 15 min... Nothing... the bottom wont catch to form a solid Dough. Trying another recipe
I tried to follow this exact recipe and my dough never became elastic enough like yours 😞 I tried to add some water but no luck. Any advice? Will try again later this week!!
You might have overworked your dough. The gluten molecules have damaged. Dough will be tough and won't stretch, only break. This sometimes happen when using a stand mixer. If kneading dough by hands, it takes a good 20-25 min. If using a stand mixer, about 12-15 min. Also, check if yeast is still active and working. I hope this help. 😊 happy baking!
Tried it yesterday and it was great!!
how do you recommend storing the buns (both types) to consume over the week? thanks
Im trying this now! Thank you for sharing!
You're so welcome.
Where is the procedure in making the chicken curry filling ? Thanks
