Hi, I have been a county fan for over 65 years (I'm 80 now) the change in the last few years is wonderful thanks to Mr Stott and his team. Hope I'm still around to see the dream come true Amino et fide always
That looks a nice little ground seems like Stockport are moving in the right direction hopefully you will be back in the championship in a few seasons everyone is banging on about Wrexham being a Hollywood story but I think yours deserves praise from coming from the national north to league one in such a sort space of time.
As an Australian tourist who has attended many British football games, I went to a Stockport game in NL North in 2018. I took a photo with a player and one member of staff. I have enjoyed their rise since then. It will be nice if I can get back in the coming years and see the new stand.
Posh supporter here, with a soft spot for County since our Wembley play-off win in 1992. Well done for coming back from the National League North (where Peterborough Sports now play) and for your Stadium aspirations. Enjoy the League One season ahead.
More than the stadium itself County is a lovely, friendly club, and they also play good football. I’ve seen the planned redevelopment and wish everyone connected with the club every success.
As a Brighton fan I love to see clubs come back from the brink and become a better club than they were. I used to go to the goldstone as kid and withdean during my late teens and 20s both them stadiums capacities combined is over 10000 seats short of the Amex (goldstone 12000 when it closed, withdean 8500 and the Amex 31800!!) and now it still feels like I support a different team as we now are going into our season and here is our league Positions 15th,17th,15th,16th,9th,6th,11th. During this time we have played in 2 FA cup semi finals and we got into the europa league finished top of the group of death which was as follows Ajax Marseille and AEK Athens. We drew Roma in the 2nd round and lost 4-0 away but we beat them 1-0 at Amex. So dream big as I never thought we would get into the premier league and stay for at least 8 8 years and 2 semi finals and a place in Europe. I like the capacity of the ground as it’s ambitious but not too big as no disrespect but you are competing in a area with at least 8 teams around you within 30 miles but if you get into the championship you will regularly sell 15000 attendances and would fill it comfortably in the premier league. There is nothing worse than seeing a stadium in the premier league half filled if you had a 35000 all seater stadium but if you were to make it to the premier league and you stay there for say 3 seasons and there is a long wait for season tickets the corners can be filled which would easily add 5000 to the capacity which would see the capacity rise to a respectable 23500. But for the time being 18500 would be amazing and will set you up is perfect for the championship and even if you did make it to the premier league this stadium would be bigger than both Brentford (17500 and Bournemouth 12250) good luck and see you in the premier league soon 😊😊
My club Ipswich Town committed to rebuilding two of our stands when we were last in the Prem. Then the ITV deal fell through and almost finished the club off. We've had twenty odd years in the doldrums and have only just managed to get back up again, partly through the sale of the club and massive investment. This time, even though there's a recognition that more capacity is needed, the emphasis is on player recruitment, development, coaching and improvements to the training ground. Wish you luck with your ambition but don't put the horse before the cart.
Love the fact they are keeping the old brick facade. I hope my club Oldham have a similar plan to keep the old facade on the Main stand if and when they develop it at Boundary park.
Iv followed stockport since I was a kid. (58 now) and would love to see county in the prem. Its been a hard few years lately but now in the 1st div it's onwards and upwards. Come on County..
Hope my club has the same intent to improve their ground .Barnsley seously needs to.make their grove street stand up to modern day standards. Good luck with the ground improvement. Where the supporters come first
Ohh and after 3 games they are now top of League One! Well, let's just say that if they get promoted this season to the Championship, they will become a team who could potentially build on a long term plan to reach the Premier League... maybe within a decade or so that is. They need to grow their fanbase larger first of all. Unfortunately, there is an exceptionally strong glass ceiling almost preventing them from achieving Premier League status in just a few seasons and keep climbing like they have done the past few seasons. Even if they win League One by a large margin this season, they'd still very likely be in a relegation battle in their first Championship season.
Nice video. Exciting times. Cautiously optimistic this doesn’t all blow up! The fan base has grown significantly in recent years with great work being done in the community and schools to attract the next generation and offer an alternative to the increasing santitisation of the Premier League match day experience near by.
Kind comment thank you. I suggest you speak to your club about squad investment. As a fan you need to know where the money you pay for tickets merchandise etc is going to the right place. Good luck!
When Stockport fell out of the league,I thought that would lead to their demise. With city and utd nearby it's amazing the have fought back so well. And as a town to have 2 of England's rising stars from there things are looking good.
Considering one of the goals is "Make Edgeley Park more environmentally friendly and sustainable" I'm surprised none of the new development has incorporated solar on the roof.
Looks great, my only misgiving is going from the plans to actually starting it ? My teams succesive owners have promised great plans n its never happened !!! Over 20k season ticket holders, waiting list closed due to having too many waiting n only holds 37.5k. Weve said for years we need at least 50k n great improvements !!!
Today they have announced the start of the official application so all being well we will get the stadium worthy of the team and club. Add that the Council have backed us means it it is really good news. :-)
It's because Stockport was made a county borough of Cheshire around 1900, so the club changed it's name to Stockport County to reflect this. Areas north of the Mersey were taken from Lancashire around that time but the whole town and Borough were in Cheshire until 1974 when GM was formed.
Pretty much as clueless as the previous comment; nothing to do with Manchester - the ‘County’ bit of the club’s name = historic county borough of Cheshire.

All these blokes are salty that Stockport are doing well, love to see it
Good luck to your club (derby county fan) county teams are the best!

Looking good Stockport. See you soon enough.🤝
As a Brentford fan I can testify that miracles do happen. Good luck Stockport!
GREAT STUFF WHERE THEY WERE PART TIME IN CON NORTH TO COME BACK IS INCREDIBLE ONWARDS AND UPWARDS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK .
Looks Good, from a well wishing Tranmere Rovers Supporter.

Hope it goes well for Stockport County, all the best to them.

In 1937 the hardcastle road stand burnt down but the club survived and built the stand we have today.
Looking a far cry from the early seventies when I used to most Friday nights to watch and then stay at my uncles pub at the the end of merseyway .
hope you have fan base to fill it smart when finished, good luck season ahead,we struggled as you seen big time.carlisle fan
Respect to Carlisle but I’m assuming you didn’t have a top ten budget as we apparently have for next season. Should make a decent fist of it.
@@stadiojunkie so much better now but not sure if manager up to it recruiting been poor

A proper British football stadium!!! Modern and with all the British football stadium features!!!🏴❤🇬🇧⚽🏴
Nice ,good luck stockport
They will be expanding the stadium bit at a time, open top end and the Danny bergara stand, to 18000, progress, on and off the pitch
Considering one of the goals is "Make Edgeley Park more environmentally friendly and sustainable" I'm surprised none of the new development has incorporated solar on the roof.
Looks like a major step forward but I’m always wary of phased development of grounds. They rarely get completed.

a lot of united and city supporters will be going to county soon because the manchester clubs are taking the piss with thier 75 pound a ticket charges
Need to sort parking for away support ,nightmare at present best of luck for future wfc supporter
I can see what you mean
At the moment this seems a bit of a pipe dream but I hope this does come into fruition
Getting prepared for when pep leaves city .
That is abit big do they have the support
Yeah we sell out a lot and we need a bigger away end if we play big teams in league one and championship
yea need more away fans in
Decent but how about a terrace with a roof
always thought it strange they wernt called stockport town , cos wheni thimk of the county i rightly or wrongly think lanchashire and manchester
There is already a football club called stockport Town not far from county's ground
@@MADhAtteR990 ahh cool ;)

Nah county are a humble club with much more integrity
@@Gonzophysicist82 You mean tin pot.
@@brianguthrie31966 as they say where were you when you where shit . Can you recall getting humbled by county ?
18/19 thousand is far too big for them and it’s highly likely that the cost of the redevelopment could realistically ruin them.
Get 10k each week
Not if we face big teams in league one and championship plus we sell out right now so need it
It was half empty anyway . So why expand it.
We sell out you melt just sold out season tickets aswell su
Melt ?;Your from Stockport I guess so why come out with the old cockney twang ?
I totally agree @fredfox
