Michel healed many, I’m certain, with his extraordinary music, a gift from Heaven. I, for one, have spent many hours over the years listening to his repertoire in the quiet woods of my home, and on the tranquil waters of the Gulf. I’ll miss him until we meet again. Merci, Michel.

"I have pain all the time. I'm used to having hurt arms," he said Not only a great musician but also a great human being who challenged all barriers to entertain and inspire us all.Even a non musician can be led by the example of such a will power..I am so grateful to you Michel ..Thank you for everything..

+Tamal Ghosh I remember too, when he said that in his documentary, and chronic pain as I know myself doesn't always allow you to be a polite nice person. And he said don't forget to laugh, and that humor is essential.I agree with you,Michel shared his inspiration with us thru his affliction. And that selfless act is felt when you hear his music.

@Lothar Lustig Events that are possible will happen eventually-therefore anyone wanting to claim the Bible has made accurate predictions-and that this is proof of a God-will have ample opportunity to point to something that can be said to be what was "predicted" in the Bible-and pretend that because it coincides with what someone "predicted", they must be connected. Problem is, there's no way of knowing it wasn't mere coincidence. And, as it ultimately has no bearing on one's ability to enjoy the great music in this video, why even waste a second contemplating such mysteries?

Sometimes when I have an ache or a pain or I'm feeling lazy about pursuing something I'm passionate about, I think of this guy, and I get over it very quickly. Remarkable in every way. And the music is brilliant. I used to listen to a radio station in Dallas that played Pianism, which remains a favorite many years later. Michel - it was only a short time, but thanks for showing up!

Michel was a child prodigy. His command of the keyboard was extraordinary and his contribution to jazz unforgettable. Michel's character was truly noble as he battled the pain of his disability in pursuit of the love of music. In some way however, he lived a charmed life when one considers how many people in this world are plagued with the same disease but who have no outlet or talent to fall back on. Those people are never heard from nor praised in the public forum.

I had seen him with Charles Lloyd at the Lobero in Santa Barbara. Michel was a big fan of Duke Ellington. He will forever be missed. I love Gadd's percussion, and Miroslav Vitous on Bass.

Michel Petrucciani was truly a remarkable musician and human being , playing the piano , which seemed effortless..... all the while enduring pains in his arms due to his dehabilitating disease . He possessed one of the fastest lightning right hands , and he will forever be remembered as a true jazz legend. Beautifully accompanied by the master Miroslav Vitous on uprightbass and the legendary and always tasteful drumming of Steve Gadd .

I was taking an illegal recording sitting in the front row and could not believe my luck, when I made a good recording of cantabile. Though for my great sorrow, I lost the MiniDisc some years later. So I was longing to hear this concert/song again. I am so happy to finally find this marvel after 26 years. I was always hoping, that someone would upload this concert to TH-cam - Thank you so much!

Listen to his album Trio in Tokyo, where Michel Petrucciani plays with Steve Gadd and Anthony Jackson ! And also on this channel here the 1993 Stuttgart concert. And some others incredible appearances are on youtube as well. Enjoy :)

What a talent. His music and piano skills is one of the best. Sad for his young life's end. He proved that no matter what challenges life hands you, you can achieve wonders if you want them bad enough.

“Through years of love, thinking, and hard work, Steinway invented a sound which is universal and made the player and the listener closer to each other. So when you play a Steinway, you're not playing it only for yourself, but for all the creative and devoted people who wanted this universal language to be a family.”
