Knowing that people just have a grand piano chilling in their house without being played for decades makes me wanna cry
Imagine people ended up with a grand piano because someone sold the house but left the piano behind, and it's too complicated to move the piano out of the house...
I would rent it to someone for practice, seriously.
I know a guy that has two baby grands, one in his basement. The one in his living room is decoration. His MiL used to teach but she's quite old now and doesn't teach or play. He can play but I don't think he does and his wife doesn't play. Two forlorn pianos.
My grandparents have one in their house (I think it's a baby grand?). They can't even play piano or any instrument-- I think it was purely for aesthetic purposes. It came with music sheets and everything. The only instance that it was played 'properly' was when my younger cousin took piano lessons for a few months. And yes, the piano was already sitting there for decades before my cousin played it. Not sure if they had it tuned beforehand because I don't play an instrument either and I wouldn't be able to tell if it was out of tune 😅
Sorry, I have a baby grand at home and my sister and I haven’t touched it in years. My niece does like to play around on it occasionally.
The best thing about starting to watch TwoSet late in the game is the amount of videos I can binge now. It's like discovering a great show that's 6 seasons in.

I learnt a bit of violin back in secondary, so I have a bit of knowledge on how the basics work, and the struggles. So I could understand like a good portion of the jokes. Now I understand all of them :)

Partially. The phones' slightly curved bottom makes it so that the phone tilts slightly as well, helping it overcome friction due to the center of gravity being slightly skewed. Same concept was actually explained quite recently on Steve Mould's channel with a ballerina toy that rotates if you put the box that comes with it close to it.

My parents inherited a piano from my grandma when she passed away 2 years ago. They don’t play it (even though they say they want to learn) and it’s sad to see it go unused but it has a lot of sentimental value to all of us. So I’m ok with it not being used for now.

The piano thing makes me so upset. People have so little respect for pianos. Especially when they just smack all their stuff and a bottle of water on top of my piano. I worked hard to be able to afford a piano, so don't throw your crap on my instrument.
I agree. It's not a table FFS. I've seen professional musicians put full glasses on the piano and I just don't get that. If it spills, your 100,000 instrument is toast.

The piano thing is so truee, went over to a rich friends house and they casually had a grand piano in the kitchen area. Wen we asked if they could play they just said that their old sax tea her used to accompany their lessons on it.

Dear Brett and Eddie, thank you so much for your amazing videos, they teach me a lot and not only about classical music. I'm a non musician fan of yours born in 1979 and today I sadly found out I was the only one left in the world not to know about bubble tea. It's become so popular here in Italy that three shops opened up in my home town since the first in 2018 and I didn't notice. You are doing so much good to elderly people like me!!!
