No. Utah picked the only FIRM OFFER it had last year.
Big 12 will make ZERO sense for Utah when Kansas, Arizona, Oklahoma St, West Virgina and Texas Christain all leave too. And they will ALL be leaving before the Next Big 12 TV Contract.
If Utah wants to STAY BEHIND... Colorado, Cincinnati or Brigham Young can have their spot.
Utah will JUMP when the FIRM OFFER comes.

"The ACC has had strategy conversations like these ever since, including whether it was financially beneficial to expand with schools like West Virginia or, yes, USC. 'We looked at everybody,' one source said. 'What do you do? I don't think coast to coast was an appetite that the presidents wanted. I think that perspective would have changed if they had known.'" ... "Multiple sources in the league kept coming back to the same central question: 'Where is the financial value?'"
      ---
ACC realignment: League considered at least four schools in expansion talks, per report (May 19, 2023)
In an effort to stabilize the conference and keep pace with the SEC and Big Ten, which continue to grow both in membership and financial prosperity, the ACC explored options for expansion, ESPN's David Hale reported. "ACC has looked at a few (expansion options)," Hale wrote..., "including Oregon, Washington, SMU and West Virginia. From what I've been told, the [dollars] just aren't there."

I disagree with your metrics. Your chart is based on assumptions that Clemson and FSU leave the ACC, which depending on the day, is very uncertain. What happens if the Clemson and FSU stay? That would be an entirely different scenario for Utah. Geographically speaking, what if the ACC jumps out and grabs ASU, Arizona and Colorado? - A scenario that is not all that unlikely. The entire situation changes heavily. Bottom line: nobody knows exactly what’s going to happen but we do know that realignment is not over and if I were the Big12, I’d be real nervous right now.

What’s more realistic? FSU and Clemson staying or going? Going 💯. They’re leaving. If ESPN renews the ACC contract next year, it will be prorated down by FSU/Clemson viewership (~35%). That’s business. Plus, how would the ACC offer more to Utah than it did to Stanford and Cal. It wouldn’t. This dog don’t hunt.

@@wildute6958 Same argument was said about the Big12 not all that long ago.. Supposedly, the Big12 was going to lose up to 50% of its money when UT and OU took the exit. Obviously that didn't happen and I think the same will happen with the ACC. If the ACC can limit the damage to just FSU and Clemson, then I think there's a real strong argument that the ACC could get a better deal than the Big12. Compare the ACC with the Big12 and the ACC wins every time, even with the loss of Clemson and FSU. Utah needs to leave the Big12 now.

Talon, look what happened to the Pac12. The media contract was supported to be worth $50M annually with USC and UCLA and the offer was $30M from ESPN. The media rights environment is in a recession now, worse than last year because of the new NBA contract. Phenomenal schools are in the ACC, buts in major trouble of getting a sound adjusted media deal after the Noles and Tigers depart. The only other option would be to form a best of the rest new conference with the cream of the ACC and Big12.

I do know one thing and it's coming from head coach Kyle Whittingham..... I don't know who he talks to or who his sources are but Kyle Whittingham knows and he predicts a college football only mega conference and I think he is dead on!!! With the house lawsuits and settlement with 22% of revenue sharing I believe that the mega conference is coming all A-Q teams and a relegated G-5 is coming. With 8 regions. All 8 regional winners are in the playoffs with 8 wild cards! All non regional games will be set by the media bringing traditional rivalries and pageantry back into the sport we all loved growing up!!!!!!
