      Oh Jim. I am sorry it reminded you of your dad when he was sick. I first heard this song sung by someone in an online ukulele community that i was(still am) a member of. He had suffered a heart attack and died in Dec 2014. A much loved member there. We started playing songs he had covered as a tribute to him and this song hit me the most, and it was one of the 2 songs i played for him(and his family). Since then, i always see this song as a way to remind myself of the unpredictability and impermanence of life. Thanks so much for your support and kind words on my songs these past months. You are an amazing songwriter and through your songs i can see the kindness and compassion in you.

      @@bamsdram 54 was too young to go. (I turned 51 this June.) But yes!- i think it is important to remember our loved ones who had passed away.

    Wonderful song and rendition and funny bloopers too! Can I ask the brand of the uke?

    • @piekia
      @piekia  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks so much Mr Gildons. The uke is a no brand thin body soprano that i bought impulsively from a uke/guitar repair man about 10 years ago. It cost me $150 Singapore dollars which i guess was not so cheap for a no brand. I liked how it sounded then and i only had 1 other soprano at that time. After owning it for a while, i find it doesn't sound as good strummed but it sounds nice picked. Has good volume for a thin body, i think partly due to the aquila strings it has. The uke has a pretty low action which is a bit too low in my opinion for clawhammer. But i keep it as it sounds different from anything else i own. The guy who sold it to me said it was a factory piece and i think it has laminated Koa wood.

      If you like it Mr Gildons, i can send it to you if you are willing to pay for the postage?

      @@piekia Thanks for your kindness Joo, but I just asked because I was curious about that thin body, it looks like a Bruko uke from Germany, it plays very good :)
