I once stepped on one as it came out of a sewer and I can still feel that awful sensation when I think about it today! It didn't seem injured by my heavy boot on its back for a second. It scurried back down into the sewer immediately, apparently no worse off. I however was haunted by the encounter for weeks, if not months!
