      1. American Education + decision of masters was worse
      2. Such a bad thought about PHD program, may be you were never a good or passionate student
      3. Just 1 year of masters, may be you think skills come with the degree but not the effort you put to get the degree.
      4. H1B chances are higher with Masters, still doing masters, that too in just 1 year, was your worst decision lol.
      5. You get hired at higher levels in company with a Masters degree and even better with PHD. Usually undergrads get hired at level 1 or 2, Masters start with level 2 or 3 or even higher depending on your experience. You were awesome in finishing a stem masters in 1 year.
      6. American system is 10x better. Its flexible focused and any american studying through this are doing better. Unfortunately rate of drop out is higher because people dont value education here like you said, if I(you) would have invested money in stock market instead of Masters you would have done better (dumbest thing ever if you are from middle class)
That masters degree is now on your resume for life 😊 just waiting for more videos which will say doing undergrad was also a worst decision, If I would have invested in crypto in 2018, I would have been a billionaire by now.

From my experience I can say - Did Masters from private college in India, Came to US on H4, applied for Canada PR, got a full time job for my 7 years experience in India with salary ranging 60-100K in USD(converted from CAD), in 1 year started my own corporation, took contract projects through networking and generated revenue ~300-370k USD in 2 years. I could think of doing something like this in India. It's a great exposure. Mine is a startup company in Canada. I agree with all your points.

The biggest benefit of studying abroad may be that you would be preferred for jobs in the country where you studied from. Other than that, studying abroad provides greater exposure (international students, international exposure, certifications, college environment, etc.). Apart from the above two benefits, studying masters in India and abroad may be almost same provided you study at a top college or university in India.

This is my first comment because this video showed up and I just cannot take it anymore.
I have been in USA for now 3 years. I don’t want to say this, But all the content creators in this space (International Studies) are lately just trying to show with their thumbnails or showing, I make 400k+ salary. Or i am struggling after Masters.
Why not support students to come to US. I also took a loan, I also did my Master’s and MBA and I am happy.
Why not show the bright sides or US and always be like, You don’t get H1 or GC or moving is a bad thing.
I want everyone to come to US and try to make a good life, H1 mila ya nai mila ya GC mila ya nai mila wo matter nai karta, matter ye karta hai ki experiences lo, aao yaha, see what makes US a US.
I am glad I never had the luxury to see all these videos when I moved to US because i would have been in depression and constantly contemplating my decision should i do it or not.
Lastly, I just don’t know why would not you guys who have big influence or who people look up to show students that MAKE THIS DECISION and jo hoga dekhte hai.
SUPPORT THEM RATHER THAN THESE THUMBNAILS.

I used to get scared by seeing the H1B situation but then slowly I stopped giving a f*** because to me. Getting the best opportunities/network/peers matter the most. Even if I dont get H1B after 3 years. I will have sufficient network to work elsewhere and move back to USA after L1 or some s***.

And I hated when he said invest that money in stocks it will give better returns!! Nothing I repeat nothing gives more return than knowlege/study. Stocks/gambling looks good upto a certain point but when you start losing, you cry for life. Study as much as you can till 30. Gain experience in between 30-35

MS in US is the best decision on my life like weeding out the middle man from compensation platform. In IT, Indian middlemen companies takes tons of dollars as profit & give some pennies to developers on top of that Govt. Of India 30 % tax & 10 % Vat, my best decision is if I need to work in IT then I should be at primary location of job . I wish I could have taken the opportunity as for a middle class Indian family It's really not possible to afford to do the MS in USA. Here the work culture is very different, everything is transparent & not senior ego basis. Your job done leave for the day , not done get fired ... as simple as that... it's the best days of my life... money is awesome, I came 5 years back with $100K debt , now $100K saving along with half million home.. in India it's a dream to accomplish those... in your life time ,

I personally know two guys originally from Pune, one got into CMU and the other into UCF, FL. CMU guy was already very active when it comes open source contribution and had special interest in distributed systems, he is currently working at world's largest social media company on their core distributed system. UCF guy had special interest in graphics/game programming and did chose courses accordingly during MS and went onto opt for thesis option, he is currently working for some federal subcontractor on next gen VR technology. Not everyone with MS end up becoming just another app or generic frontend/backend developer there are few like these two guys who chose to be different.

And when you watch the later part of the video you will realize that this video is about "If he hadn't done masters what best things could have happened to him". He talks about if he had started working in 2020, he would have been able to grab the stock market boom and blah blah. These info are really not useful to you anyway and its just a clickbait video. Studying masters or phD is total waste of time and money. They are paid same as b tech guys. It all boils down to your coding skills, work experience and communication skills. I just did my BE, gained some software engg exp in India, then moved to US AND later to UK. And finally settled for good in Australia. As long as you can write testable, clean code, you are in very high demand. I get paid over 200k plus super as a principal engineer. That’s bonkers, right 😅

I am going this fall to USA for astronautics & aeronautics degree. I have seen a big gap in terms of resources and various other aspects of studying and professors here in India and USA.
First of all I have a research oriented mindset and so I feel USA, given the resources seems an ideal place to study. People here in India are predominantly thinking about that golden package but no one actual wants to make a difference as far as tech field is concerned, research and job mindset can be set-aside, given the volume of students graduating every year. But for other courses for example the one I am going for has tremendous scope of research but people in India dont wish to actually study it, instead its maybe their 3rd option too.
I feel this video definitely sheds light on many things but yet its a pretty confined one and shows mainly one perspective of studying in USA.

Is MS in US really a good option? Because you spend like 50-60k and are stll put into the same group as the 50 year old H1B guys who came directly from India and are also treated the same way? MS is nothing but a scam of 50k$, and US visa is great for those who think short-term because the green card line is like 100 years of Indians but only 5 years for Chinese citizens. Also ask any current MS student, who's not delusional and they'll tell you how bad it actually is especially with job search and bad lifestyle

Harnoor is brilliant guy with multiple achievements, but i just can't stand his style of content delivery. This acting like he's a 5 year old innocent kid who was just born yesterday really gets on my nerves. No way that a guy this clever and enterprising would have such a dumb seeming demeanor. No hate, but typical IT workers don't talk in such a kindergarten teacher way. It always makes my mind whirr about how many bodies he's hiding in his basement.

It is if you are watching his videos. I hate kids inspiring other kids like this. An aspiring engineer still does better with Masters program. Also, he completed masters in 1 year, one of the best thing happened to someone in USA. There are 100s of benefits of doing masters program.
Saying “worst” is clickbait and telling other young kids who are watching him that if he invested that money in stocks, he would have made so much money. - just hate such things online!!! Influencers take things for granted.
