- Had a some time to fish a sweet little local creek while staying in Ohio for Easter. I spent the afternoon weaseling around with my micro fishing gear trying to catch as many species as possible and I ended up getting quite a few, including some I've never caught.
It’s really beautiful to see the fish in the photo tank!
I agree, photo tanks make a world of a difference for viewing small fish.
Definitely gonna try out the size 26 setup. My girlfriend and I hardly got to utilize our licenses last year, but this really opened me up to what's possible. We've done macroinvertebrate collection quite a bit, and we may get the rare fish occasionally in the kick seine, but for the most part, I'm always left wondering what's around us. My stream ecology class did electofishing with our DNR, so we got to see a lot of what was native, but I don't have the trained eye to identify from afar, so this is an awesome way to start getting more proficient, while also having a chill time on the creek. Thanks for sharing man.
That's great to hear man, definitely try out the micro fishing. It is a great way to familiarize yourself with the smaller natives that most people (perhaps even most fishermen) just know as minnows/baitfish. Hope you get the most out of your license this year and thank you for the comment!

What lure was that at the start?
If your asking about that small blue one, that would be a little lead ice fishing jig.
Did you wet your hands before handling
Yup, it's a great habit to get into, especially when handling delicate fish, I'm sure you would agree!
Good etiquette to know, thank you both.
