    Something I notice quite a bit lately. For some reason people have started incorrectly pronouncing the word "turbine". Instead they pronounce it "turban". A turban is something you put on your head if you are a Sikh. The second syllable rhymes with the word wine. It does not rhyme with bin or ban.

    I appreciate the detailed inside video of the instrument panels. We were drooling at the Mosquitos on the internet at flight school. Pretty freaking awesome. I just wish the cheaper UL helis with 2 seats were still supported. That was some beautifully controlled flying.

    Oh yes, just love helicopters. I have a dozen hobby grade rc collective pitch helicopters that I fly regularly. Took me years of flight simulation and actual flight to master hovering and orientation. If I were not a retiree I would be the first to line up and offer to buy your jetcopter. On an rc helicopter the cheapest turbine engine is $3500 that can power a 1/10th scale helicopter. If I had your helicopter you will only find me in the air every chance I get.

    You did a great job. Nice looking machine. I like the turbine. Should be more reliable than the piston engine they usually have, in theory. I fly Astars, but always looked at these in wonder when I was a kid. For those who said that seems expensive, I guess they dont realize how much helicopters really cost, especially with a turbine engine. The one I am flying is now going for around 3 million and its not a huge machine.

      There are only two models of the Mosquito that qualify as ultralights, and they are all lighter weight and have piston engines. All other models of the Mosquito, including the XET, require a private pilot license, airworthiness certificate, and registration to operate.

      I was wondering the same thing about the belts. Could you also change the gear ratio? I don't know why anyone would want to but I was just curious.

    • @ringchaser4488
      @ringchaser4488 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Philip Bothma not too uncommon for a heli to be belt driven. however the bigger machines have more then one engine so if one goes out, you still good enough to make it home. similar to how boats have two or more engines (thus multiple engine belts)

    The dream of flight is a realization with this aircraft. Leave the traffic on the ground behind and take off from one's backyard. Asking price is just equivalent to most high end sports vehicles. Flight training should come with it. Too bad market is limited as the average person is scared of flying.

      On the website you see the price for the kit only, which comes with no engine (+$15,000) or any of the extra accessories or avionics mine has ($6,000+). The kit price also does not cover labor expenses if you have the factory build it for you ($8,000). You can not build a new helicopter to my spec for what my list price is. You may have been looking at the piston versions of this helicopter, which have the same body, but are much cheaper because they do not have a turbine engine, or a lot of the avionics or accessories this one has onboard.

    Great Video! Great Helicopter! but I have never seen so many stupid comments on a youtube video by the viewers. about 10 people asked how much it is... LOOK at the listing fools! So many other stupid comments about why this why that, you guys are obviously not pilots. My gosh do some research before you bug this great guy to death with all the dumb questions. BTW some very good questions as well. I just normally see great questions from aviation related videos, but I guess something like this draws in a lot of Non-pilots.
