Sam and Nicks conversation about what Nicks favorite color was is literally the conversation me and my brother have every time I ask him what his favorite color is. Me: "So like pastel green or murky forest green?" My brother: "I like green-ish green."
omg fr. That's me with basically everyone who doesn't draw/paint/do art stuff. Like "So... you like pastel purple? Maybe more magenta-y or more like indigo?" "Well... I like purple that looks like purple" "uhm okay"
Next video: Sam explains the scientific ways to learn anything faster. Using scientific terms like synapses, myelination, neuroplasticity etc etc. Nick corrects him in times of error. Pro doctor vs Neurobaby.
TIP: As a beginner artist, if your trying to get into digital art- don’t have expectations. I’m trying to learn both forms of art at the same time, the two are completely different feelings. Take your time, don’t go big, learn the brushes, do what you feel is better for YOU.
I'd say it's best to learn the fundamentals traditionally (anatomy, light & shadow, composition etc) and then switch to digital art, where you'd just have to focus on using the tools to your advantage. It's easier that way :D

As a hemiplegic stroke survivor; it’s really cool and ironic that Nick is a neuroscientist; because serious brain damage caused my stroke. But I am also an artist who uses an iPad to create art. Thanks guys! Cool video!
@Acer Chromebook Thank you! Well, every day is a big challenge; but I guess that was also true before I had a stroke! Its just different now and the only way is forward! The hard part really now is I have to use my right hand for my art;as I was left handed previously;but I am unable to move my left arm \ hand at all. Damnit! Thank you for your kindness!
If you do a part 2 give him an anatomy lesson artist style and see how quickly Nick merges his profession knowledge with the new knowledge. ^^ Nick you did great!
The fact that this wasn't even supposed to be a tutorial but seems to have the ability to help more than any actual tutorial out there says a lot about the art community's "1. Draw a circle. 2. Add details" form of being

My best friend is a surgeon but she never wanted to give painting on my tablet a try (probably it's because it's Intuos, so no screen :D). Nice video :)
For a person who doesn't digital art and tried for the first time, he actually did it amazingly. He knows about anatomy so that's a plus, and also I'm impressed about how fast he learned!!
Honestly, I thought I couldn't draw a few months ago. Then I started to learn and my first serious drawing went way better than I could ever imagined. So it's not about whether you have talent, it's about knowing what you're doing.
Very proud of you, Nick!!! And it's funny that you mentioned the West coast, sam. I'm from Seattle and when you mentioned that the West Coast has the best ocean air, I can't agree more! West coast, best coast ✌️
As a rookie to Procreate, I never knew how to eraser or add a layer to color the drawing without overshadowing the layer itself. Meaning I color the drawing and then it overshadows the drawing. I don’t do digital art but when I do, it feels weird cause I’m so used to traditional art but exploring different ways to get rid of that fear of drawing on a tablet or a computer.
