    I fitted one of these earlier this year with a 55 Watt bulb, it’s a much better headlight than standard even when you upgrade the standard one with a better bulb.
    How we used to manage with the old 6 volt standard Lambretta lights is a mystery, it must have been our youthful eyes .

    I have ordered one of these today :) will be the final step in rewiring my 61 Series 2 Li150 (RB20 5-speed). I also made (from scratch) a complete new loom with 16awg wire in a full DC conversion using my Vape ignition with the SIP R102 pure DC rectifier/regulator and a 9 mah battery in the toolbox. I have the BGM rear LED light, again all rewired in 16awg silicone cable. I also rewired the light switch and bought a ceramic H4 plug to attach directly to the switch wires. I'm using the MB MBP0153K 'Fit All' ignition switch which switches from side light to normal light, dip and main are controlled from the light switch. Looking forward to decent lights and electrics. While I was at it, I wired a front brake light switch into the master cylinder for the front brake. Happy days Rob :D

    I go back to the sixties when upgrades were not so easy to get hold of and standard Lambretta lights were next to useles. Might as well have had an oil lamp to light the road.
    I now have an LED rear light unit, uprated headlight bulb and twin Lucas spots with LED bulbs that cost a small fortune but do the job on our mountain roads here in Spain.
    I also have a Vape DC system with battery which evens out the power supply and in the event of a breakdown at night means I still have lights.

    I hope Jockey and the boys come out with a conversion for the GP. Good video Rob. Also it looked like a beam of light was escaping from.the top of the headset.

      As this H1 headlight is an aftermarket product for Harley Davidson I doubt that this will ever take place.

      @@kickbackgarage Yes, and it's made in China.
      But you can remove the plastic lense and replace it with a Carello headlight glass/lense to gain a classic look combined with better lights than an original headlight assembly. The bulbs are available in 40/45 wattage as well, but without the E-legislation for road use.
      I have tried 55/60 W with a glass lense so far and the result is immense. But I haven't tried it at summer time as it might get to hot and will melt. Probably I'll try and stay with the 40/45 W once I open the headset again...

    On mine, it’s just a threaded round screw hole. Maybe I can drill another hole and tap it. Cheers Rob 👍

    Yes my li has had a 12 volt conversion but even now when you press the brake pedal the headlight almost disappears so led rear will be next then if the headlight is still under powered I may this conversion 👍😀

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The led rear will stop the dimming of the headlight and you will get full power to the headlight. Another thing you can do if your headlight reflector is in good nick is fit a scootopia halogen bulb. They sell one that fits the original headlight socket.

    Hi Rob. I’ve fitted a Jockeys headlamp to my Series 2 but found that the dip beam blinds oncoming traffic, and the full beam wakes up roosting bird life in the trees. Now, a Series 2 headlamp cannot be adjusted. I am right on that, aren’t I? Love your vids, and would welcome any suggestions you might have.

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On a series 2 the bottom hole on the headlight rim is slotted so there is some adjusmet and it's possible to file a bit more to eneble to point the light down enough to not blind others.

    Hi Rob my unit was delivered from Jockeys with a 35 / 35 watt bulb, I notice you said you were using a 55 watt bulb. I take you have had no problems with heat on the plastic lens?

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep. No probs running a 55. Got that in both mine. No melting and we have to run daytime lights by law. That's why I run a led rear to get enough juice up front.
