    Due to the house being a foreclosure and for privacy reasons we cant say where this house exactly is. But we are in Canada for those that are wondering. Hope you enjoyed the video!

      How would I buy a foreclosure home like that

    • @BrookeEli

      @@azurinasantullo6975 you would most likely have to contact a real estate agent that deals with foreclosures

    For such a huge 🏠 home it's really traditional and u could feel at home in it not like a palatial mansion where u feel it's a showplace..this place was meant for a family..I absolutely love it..

      Got to agree with you on that one! Glad you enjoyed it 😊

    I feel like that extra room off the master was a hidden family room with a kitchen/laundry. So they didn’t have to walk far for snacks & quick washes.

    • @BrookeEli
      @BrookeEli  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      That could also make sense!! The closer the snacks are the better, right? 😂

    • @kellyvernon6074
      @kellyvernon6074 3 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      This extra room is called a keeping room it's like a small living area or nursery . And yes laundry so you don't have to go far ..and closer to the main bedroom closet. Why there is two doors to get there... My parents had same setup in Texas. Plus maids are never in quarters near master normally near children or basement.

    • @BrookeEli

      Thanks for explaining! We never seen a house this big so it's all new to us. Appreciate the comment.

    • @tach9663
      @tach9663 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes, it's NOT a maid's room. A maid would not have that beautiful curved wall of windows and access directly into the master bedroom.

    • @nickyzenon7389

    I'll never understand why anyone would want to live in these huge houses, unless you have a huge family!

    • @BrookeEli
      @BrookeEli  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Agreed on that!

  • @doriannoni5945
    @doriannoni5945 3 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    I don’t think the room off the master was a maids room, didn’t see a bathroom. Plus would you want your maid in the next room if you had a house that big? 🤣 more likely it was the main floor or basement would be maid quarters. And the serving room off the kitchen is called a butlers pantry, used for extra storage and food prep and placing serving dishes while eating.

  • @SILSAL67

    High ceilings are estheticly cool. But, people realize that they wreak havoc with your utility bills to heat and cool rooms.

  • @conniebrown5594
    @conniebrown5594 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    During colonial times, a home was built with a Keeping Room, and was always off the kitchen. The Keeping Room always had a fireplace used to "keep" the whole family warm while sleeping together on the floor of the room, when it was cold. This room has made a revival in newer homes, with just a sitting area (not a den) usually with a fireplace, where people can talk, play games, etc., while meals are being prepared.

    3 years ago I decided to embrace "experiences over things" and downsized from a ridiculous 4200 sq ft house to a tiny (600 sq ft) house and a bus. I'lll be traveling full time for a few years by land, and God willing, a few more by boat.
    Seeing that giant, albeit beautiful, house gave me flashbacks and anxiety haha.
    I would LOVE to know the story behind the home/family etc. I hope they landed on their feet and got a fresh start!!

    I am positive that extra room is NOT for a maid but it is a laundry room for upstairs. It is much easier to do laundry where the bedrooms are located instead of hauling the laundry up the stairs.

    Usually in big homes like that they have 2 laundry rooms so they don’t have to tote the upstairs laundry back and forth! So I’m thinking that’s why and not necessarily for a maid!

    I don’t know where this is, but it’s great. There’s just character to this huge house to make if feel like a home. The view and privacy is great. Needs some rooms painted, it’d be great to decorate, a woman’s touch would turn it into something out of this world. What a master suite! Every home should have the laundry room connected to the master bathroom. It’s large, but still amazing. 💖

      @@BrookeEli I was thinking the same - lovely home to buy but then you have to think of running costs. 2 million is cheap for such a huge place - in my country (New Zealand) I think depending on where it's located you could easily treble that cost if not more. I do real estate photography - much smaller homes than this with barely half an acre go for over 1 million.

    Actually, that garage was VERY SMALL for a 8000 sq ft house wit 7 BEDROOMS! Houses around here, and most places of comparable age, would have a garage that size with only 3 to 4 bedrooms. For all we know they could have 6 kids of driving age at home.

  • @shanesnouffer1977
    @shanesnouffer1977 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey guys I've see those style rooms where your saying the maid would live. No rich person wants their maid to live right next to them with no door or anything to separate. I've seen those rooms be like a little sitting/tv/laundry room for the master suit. I'd say it was more something like that or it could even be for an ill older parent/grand parent that for some reason they wanted to be really close,but if they had that kinda money then they could pay for 24-7nursing care so they wouldn't have to do it. Most likely just a sitting room for the master bed room. Your doing awesome love the channel keep up the hard work.

    I'm thinking the room right off the master is a nursery! A kitchen for bottles and a washer and dryer for baby clothes! I say that because there's no bathroom in that room. Usually a maid will have a separate bathroom

    I would make into a bed and breakfast. Then the out side could be for party's or what ever. Great find. Why build so big them you CANT pay for it. Then there is nothing around to do. My be a barn for horse's would be great. If your friend is going to walk so far away from you she needs a Mick on so she can be heard. Stay safe.USA

    The extra space in the master isn’t a maid’s quarter or room. The maid would never a room adjacent to the master let alone that is part of the master bedroom. This extra space is a retreat space

    What was that square thing on the wall in the master bedroom? Right at 9:45 on the left side just as the entrance to the master bathroom & closet? Too small for a TV and an odd placement & size for a book shelf.

      Honestly we are not too sure. Lots of wires in there. So maybe a spot for an audio system? If we remember correctly they had speakers throughout the house.
