Greetings from the U.S.A. I had about 4 Cortinas back in the 1970's...one almost identical to yours, even it's color, a Mk1 wagon, and 2 Mk2's. I 💘 Love Cortinas alot but had big troubles getting parts for them. They used to be brought into the country by Ford and sold through their Mercury dealerships, but this stopped in the mid-70s and I had to sell my cars and move on. I would LOVE to have another (or 2 or 3) but they cannot be found. Cortinas have to be the rarest car in 🇺🇸 America, but yours is Very Nice! Thank You for posting this video...it brought back alot of good memories. ✌😁

Beautiful. I keep watching this video again and again because I am currently rebuilding my fathers cortina mk1 1500 and also uprating it to GT specs and look.
@@HARRISALO Thanks for sharing the video and for your response. I love the "Hooters Capri" too it is quite famous. I read about it in your build blog and in Classic Ford if I remember correctly. Great job on that! I need to part with a similar project SWB Transit to make space for a basket case MK1 GT Cortina so the video is quite symbolic to me. Best of luck!

Meilläpäin näitä nimiteltiin toisinaan Ruusuperiksi ;) Minunkin eka auto oli -66 Cortina 1500, siihen sai ralli-lookia kun irrotti puskurit, ja asensi keulan leveydeltä lisävaloja, virkavalta niistä mielensä niin pahoitti :( Hyviä muistoja jäi Cortinasta, oli vieläpä pirun lämmin auto, eikä menny ikkunat jäähän niinkuin kavereiden Belletteissä teki ;)
British GTs had black dash and chrome bezels .Also did not have twin chrome strips from super models(thank god as they were a water and rust trap.Noticed Lotus badge on front grille did you have the 125E engine?
As 16 year old kid i worked on fords in my eyes they were the best cars on the road had mk1 1500 super loved it not like the plastic crap to day cause plastic bad for the planet so i am told and all cars now are full faults

I purchased a Maroon Red 2 door Mk1 yesterday.
Lovely car. I had a mk1 Cortina GT, dark green with a metallic light green Lotus stripe, wheels and quarter bumpers. Enjoy yours it looks really good!
