    You have to respect Mr Harris sr for his dedication to his craft especially when you see his poor hands riddled with arthritis and he is still working on those engines, that's a man who loves what he does with a passion so strong that even with his issues still works bloody hard, let's have a virtual round of applause for Mr Harris!!👍

    As an American it is very impressive they can get this amount of power from such few CC. But, as an American it's hard to get my mind around a 170hp engine in such a light chassis because we rarely experience that.

    I remember when the Mk 2 came out and it was advertised as having bowl in pistons ( which means cheaper cylinder heads ) and cross flow heads. It is not a true cross flow because the valves are in line thus limiting the size of the intake and exhaust ports and even the 1600 engine did not put out more than 80 hp. The Lotus twin cam put out about 120 hp which was a lot back in the day.

    There's a "secret" here that runs across pretty much any business. Do whatever you do better than anyone else & you'll be successful. Try cutting corners, treat your customers poorly & don't do what you say you'll do & your business will be a failure - period. Too bad so many businesses today are only interested in a short-term money grab agenda.

      @@MegaReddevil71 but it’s not a 60’s engine once it’s been modified with 21st century bits and individually built is it ? I’m
      pretty sure a turbocharger and modern engine management could be bolted to a Mk2 jaguar engine from the same era to obtain 400 plus bhp.

    • @camwat5193
      @camwat5193 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      But a modern shopping car needs that bhp just to haul the extra weight around - 187bhp is a mighty amount in a car with the weight of a baked bean can.
      That said, the Cortina would offer the same level of protection as a baked bean can in an accident too.

      @PPP 414 And like the GT falcons of the day the colour of the stripe changed with the shade of red that the car was painted. A “candy apple red” car had gold stripes but a “brambles red” car had black stripes.
