I can’t say that I blame you! Montréal is known for its amazing ambiance, especially during the warmer months. Must be an interesting way to see the city from a convertible (what kind ?). Thank you for watching the video. Hopefully it was useful for some new ideas too. 👍🏾
@travels_wright your vid is great for new ideas, such as the late night dinner cruise. I have a well preserved black on black 2010 Sebring Convertible. Generally, I only cruise around in it during the wee hours because the Montreal metro is wonderfully efficient. I can't wait to ride the R.E.M.!!!
Le Village au Pied-du-Courant is a great place to chill, have drink, listen to some music and much more... i highly recommand that place... best spot to watch the fireworks
Hi. Do we need a car to reach Le Village au Pied-du-Courant? My Québec friend has a car and wants to take me to somewhere I haven't yet been. Other than that, I'll be visiting and revisiting places in Montrèal by métro on my own. I'll be traveling to Montréal in April. Merci!😀

I like the idea! Especially with black history month just around the corner. You may have seen It already, but I included Boom J’s Cuisine (Jamaican Cuisine) in my top 10 food places in Montreal video. Doing a whole set of good black owned restaurants would be a great idea too. 👌🏾
So happy that TH-cam recommended your GR8 channel!👍🏼 New subbie here😀 YT suggested you while I was researching certain aspects of Montréal, where I haven't traveled since 2019. I used to visit there 2x a year, but I need a refresh because I'm headed back to that beautiful city really soon. Thanks for recommending Old Montréal, when some travel hosts poo-poo the area as being touristy. Well, I don't mind the touristy elements because I focus on the history and architecture. And I loooove the restos, bakeries and historic houses that are museums much worth visiting. The Old Port is wonderful, including the lookout and la Grande Roue. That Ferris wheel was constructed for Montréal's 175th birthday in 2017 -- and I missed several chances to ride it before the pandemic, so I'll remedy that this spring.❤🎡❤ Other neigborhoods that I must visit again are le Plateau, la Petite Italie? la Petite Patrie, NDG, Hochelaga et Griffintown. I hope I have time to revisit Atwater market and to see the beautiful animals and marine life i side of the Biodôme. Merci!✌🏼

Yikes… that can’t be good… I know the city of Montreal announced a budget of $1 billion this year to redo the roof. I hope that also Includes the foundation 😅. Thanks for the inside scoop !
Very well-put and highly detailed! Especially appreciate as I’m planning my trip to Montreal this year Christmas. Any must-visit places not to miss during that time? Thanks there 😊
Thank you! Very much appreciated . For the Christmas season, I believe (La Grande Roue) is still open so this could be a nice activity to take part in. I would also visit the Biodôme as it’s indoor. Place ville Marie is normally nicely decorated with lights during this time of year and also has a connection to the underground mall in case you want to do some shopping. I also uploaded a video on my channel on some interesting restaurants to visit as well. See the link here : th-cam.com/video/gskYBO0V3Uo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RcVlOnugg8EU3z4r Hope you have a fantastic visit to Montreal 🙌🏾
PRO TIP: Save money when buying your tickets to the paid Montreal attractions of your choice by visiting the Montreal Passport webpage. Buy your tickets in a bundle instead of buying your tickets individually to save on the overall Cost of the paid activities: www.mtl.org/en/deals/passport/passeport-mtl-summer-fall-2023?gclid=CjwKCAjwgZCoBhBnEiwAz35Rws2c0m49Pm40tt9OztGqtxIBGXRmu288R4kaq3U-MGQMRuELRN0rhBoCJEUQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
@@travels_wright I went with my boyfriend in the winter of 2014 I believe and I loved the atmosphere and how secluded it was (walking to our room felt like a spa). It also had the biggest bed I've ever seen that was extremely comfortable, old brick walls, a fireplace, jet tub and was situated downtown by the St. Lawrence River. I paid extra to have breakfast and mimosas in bed and I'm planning for us to go back this year in the fall :)
Wow, sounds like they had great amenities when you stayed at the hotel. The location is super ideal as well. Very central to the touristic area. Autumn is an Amazing time to visit because of the changing foliage. No doubt you’ll have another great time. Thanks for the tip, I’ll have to check it out 👍🏾
@@travels_wright Yes, that's when I'm planning to book us! They also have a rooftop terrace where you can watch the fireworks although we didn't do that last time but we'll probably have dinner there this time. It's quite expensive but I recommend the King rooms for a special occasion.
Thank you for posting! I’ll be taking a group of 40 students to downtown Montreal next month for a day tour on a stop over back home to South America, I’m quite excited. However, none of us speak French 😢 can we survive with just English? I took note of some of your suggestions to visit. Thank you so much!
Wow amazing to hear! I’m sure you and your students will have a good time. I wouldn’t worry so much about the French especially if you’re in a touristy area. Most people are bilingual and can accommodate you in both English and French. 👍🏾
Hi there. Hope all is well. I wanted to know if you can possibly give some recommendations as to where to stay in Quebec Montreal… We will be traveling from Chicago 🫶🏾
I haven’t stayed in too many hotels in MTL but… I did do a review of the Honeyrose Hotel. It’s right next to the metro and central to a lot of activities in the city. See the video here for your reference. Let me know if you have any additional questions :-). th-cam.com/video/C-Z0a9_MYC8/w-d-xo.html
Yes! A lot of the indoor activities are still open. Even the Ferris wheel for example is still open. Before picking a location, just do a quick google search before going just to confirm the opening the respective locations. I also just did a video on places to eat in Montreal. Feel free to also check it out: th-cam.com/video/gskYBO0V3Uo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IseO09IYSVknHpek
Hello! Thanks for watching the video ! Can I ask which outings you were looking to visit? We are now in March so the city is coming out of the colder months. A lot of the indoor attractions should still be accessible however. Believe it or not, even the Ferris Wheel should also be open. Let me know 👍🏾
I love Montreal, but I have not visited there since a youngster. Thanks for the fantastic update. My only criticism is that they should use laser shows instead of fireworks, since fireworks contain toxins and pollute the ground and water, bioaccumulation.
Perhaps that may be the way of the future ! Thanks for watching. It would definitely be worth making another visit before the summer is over. Happy travels !
Montreal has a unique architecture ( 400 years )at Square St -Louis and the plateau .... Mount Royal avenue is pedestrian only .... Montreal has 10 major streets pedestrian only
That’s actually a very good question. Like all hotels it really goes by season some periods will be higher than others. Most hotels in the downtown and old port region will be a little more pricy to stay at. So if your goal is to save money, AIr bnb could be a great option. I did a full review of the Honeyrose Hotel. Very nice place to stay. You can check out the video here to see if this would be a good hotel for you👍🏾: th-cam.com/video/C-Z0a9_MYC8/w-d-xo.html
Nice video well done, however you forgot to point out the traffic congestion nightmare. Also did you edit out the Orange Cones ?. Montreal is famous for its orange cones and pot holes.😢
Yah, I call it the orange circus as I struggle to get away from rue Ste-Catherine as I walk from west to east. Single-file walking makes me fume, BUT I respect the city's need to fix its streets and do renovations. And I do love rue Ste-Catherine still.💕
I did another video on Charlevoix Quebec. Supper nice rural area with nice scenery. Can definitely make that trip if you are headed to Quebec City 👍🏾 VIDEO LINK: Things to do In beautiful Charlevoix Quebec. Travel Tour guide th-cam.com/video/PpTI7PZxHZ8/w-d-xo.html
2 questions 😅. In your opinion, why is Montreal overrated and how does the province’s official language play a role in the overall experience you will have in the city?
It's a gorgeous walkable city..... I'm here right now. And I can tell you, I'm absolutely functioning alright, not being able to speak French. Montrealers are very welcoming and they help me out!
@AhhhSukeSuke Absolutely ! Within Montreal you will always be able to find bilingual people. Especially in the downtown sector. The know it’s the season for tourist as well so they will try to accommodate. Hope you’re having a good time so far ✌🏽
Thank you, so much ! I hope you have gotten value from this content. I’ll definitely use this to put out more videos you can enjoy. Hope you have an amazing day !
Born and raised Montrealer here, your video was very thorough and well made! Plus you have a very soothing voice :)

Well, it's not hidden, but the bike paths along both rivers are really beautiful and pleasant to bike on, and they're quite extensive. If you want to rent a BIXI, might as well pay the monthly subscription of $20. It gives you unlimited and free access to bikes for as long as you want. Yes, the 4 metro stations connects the various shopping centers. Very convenient. I just googled your bike. Has a nice vintage look to it. I hope you have a safe trip 👍🏾
Ta prononciation des mots en français est vraiment très bien. Le timbre de ta voix nous invites à continuer l'écoute. Merci pour cette vidéo.

Glad it was enjoyable. Hope you have a great stay in the city 👍🏾
@@travels_wright I’m going next month. This was just fantastic. I really appreciated it. And your voice is so calming. I love it.
Nice! November is definitely a cooler month, but as you saw, there are still quite a few indoor activities to enjoy in the city. I highly recommend visiting during the summer months as well to get the full experience if ever you have the opportunity. Thank you for the compliment. Very much appreciated 🙏🏾. There’s more content to come.
This was so helpful for planning my trip!
Glad to hear ! Happy travels ✌🏾
TREMENDOUS VIDEO. So many great suggestions and tips. Thanks!!!
Not a problem! Hope you enjoy the city !
Superbe pésentation de cette merveilleuse ville merci pour cette vidéo qui représente vraiment bien la réalité de Montréal.
Merci d'avoir regardé la vidéo. Oui ! Montréal est une ville fantastique avec beaucoup à offrir
Absolutely fabulous video on Montreal! Definitely the best and most comprehensive that I have seen.

Very useful content and clearly spoken. Heading to Montreal next week ..can’t wait to check out all the attractions. Subscribed! Merci beaucoup!
I’m sure you will enjoy your stay in the city ! With the construction holiday in the province, it’s sure to be a busy week. Thank you for watching , un gros merci !
Great video, well done
Appreciate it! Hope it helps with your planning 👍🏾
Great video... well done sir!
Thanks for watching 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for the video. An architect I know told me the Olympic stadium is sinking under the tower area. It’s two heavy on one side
Yikes… that can’t be good… I know the city of Montreal announced a budget of $1 billion this year to redo the roof. I hope that also Includes the foundation 😅. Thanks for the inside scoop !
@@travels_wright a lot of taxes went into the Olympic stadium. Oh well that’s the way it is.
I agree..it’s a significant amount of money…
Thank you so much 👍

Thank God you pronounce Montreal correctly in English. I grew up in English Montreal, The Town of Mount Royal.
Haha! Thanks for watching 🙏🏽
See the link here : th-cam.com/video/gskYBO0V3Uo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RcVlOnugg8EU3z4r

24:00 fun fact, William Shatner is born in Montreal. Btw great video !
Wow, I totally wasn’t aware of that… I knew he was Canadian but not that he was from MTL. Thanks for watching !
Great video and I really like your voice.

I highly recommend staying at l'Auberge du Vieux-Port... it's my favourite hotel in the world :)
Nice ! When did you stay and what impressed you the most about the hotel ?
👍🏾
@@travels_wright Thank you!! I’ll post here and let you know how it went. Keep up the amazing work!
Very well done

Can see the oratory from my bedroom window 😁

Hi, sorry for the late response.. after submitting the documents in the medical,
Can we still visit these places in fall or winter?
What about the smoke meat sandwich in Montreal! It the best😢
It’s undoubtedly a staple food category in Montreal!
Oh gosh... it is Monday today in Montreal and quite all great attractions from your video are closed...
@@travels_wright I wish. It is unlikely I will travel there this year, but will plan to do so next coming years. Thanks again for your post.
Ouiii! Je m’excuse. J’ai trompé les deux universités😬
Montreal has a unique architecture ( 400 years )at Square St -Louis and the plateau .... Mount Royal avenue is pedestrian only .... Montreal has 10 major streets pedestrian only
Thanks for the added info 👍🏾
As a hispanic, THANK you for pronouncing "croqueta" correctly.
Haha, thank you for noticing 👍🏾.
Where’s a good mid priced hotel?
That’s actually a very good question. Like all hotels it really goes by season some periods will be higher than others. Most hotels in the downtown and old port region will be a little more pricy to stay at. So if your goal is to save money, AIr bnb could be a great option. I did a full review of the Honeyrose Hotel. Very nice place to stay. You can check out the video here to see if this would be a good hotel for you👍🏾:

Nice video well done, however you forgot to point out the traffic congestion nightmare. Also did you edit out the Orange Cones ?. Montreal is famous for its orange cones and pot holes.😢
😂😂😂 thank you
Montreal does have A LOT of construction cones😅
Negative Nancy!😂
Montréal is much more than about orange cones and trafic.
😂😂
Yah, I call it the orange circus as I struggle to get away from rue Ste-Catherine as I walk from west to east. Single-file walking makes me fume, BUT I respect the city's need to fix its streets and do renovations. And I do love rue Ste-Catherine still.💕
I think I'm going to Quebec City first... But, I'm not interested in a lot of touristy merde.
I did another video on Charlevoix Quebec. Supper nice rural area with nice scenery. Can definitely make that trip if you are headed to Quebec City 👍🏾 VIDEO LINK: Things to do In beautiful Charlevoix Quebec. Travel Tour guide

Not sure I understand..
Montreal is overrated, and English is not considered an official language.
Cheap shot from someone who has probably nrvet put his foot in the city...
